I am so glad that I'm one of the small group of those who actually got to see Story of my Life while it was on Broadway. While I'm sad that it closed so quickly, the fact that I got to see Chase and Gets at their best still makes me smile. I had previously seen Will Chase as Roger in Rent, but seeing him in this small gem really made me change my view of him. So much talent all around. I love The Booth's current tenant (N2N), but this show was just so perfect.
I was part of that small group. I saw it with one of my best friends while it was in previews. We sat in the theatre and cried and held each other. It was such a brilliant show with spectacular performances from both Will and Malcolm. Truly a very special show that it felt like, and still feels like, people need to see. Too bad it didn't get the audience it needed. I actually feel like this show might do better now (2017). It seems like there are more shows out now with this kind of simple story telling about everyday people, with really fantastic, nuanced performances. We need this kind of story more than ever.
I too saw it and cried my eyes out, then went back two more times. I couldn't get enough as a NYC college student who hadn't been home in over a year and a half... I immediately called my family & best friend back home and told them how much I loved And needed them 🥰
As I listened to this beautiful song, I thought once again that Will Chase is like a male version of Lea Salonga, in terms of vocal clarity and the perfect conveying of emotions. It's part of why they made such a great match when they were paired as Kim and Chris in Miss Saigon. It would have been neat if Will had voiced two Disney princes to match Lea's two Disney princesses, since he sounded and looked like a Disney prince. Oh well, he is an amazing performer, and I am grateful to be alive at the same time as him. :-)

Will chase has an amazing voice and is a fatastic actor, he delivers songs superbly, I can't stop watching him, wish he would come and sing to me!!!
