    This is my favorite ultra portable burner stove. Bought it about 5 years ago for less than $50

    Great review! I bought the exact same stove from Walmart new unopened in January 2024 for $39 plus tax.
    I also own the Genesis base camp which has amazing simmer control. The Coleman has good simmering after cleaning and putting light grease ( a quick and simple process) on .the controls

    I’ve been looking at the jet boil stove for awhile but the price kept me away, I may be picking one of these up instead. Thanks for the video.

      No problem! I have a buddy with the Jetboil and it's a really nice stove, but I just think of all the other gear I can buy with that extra couple hundred dollars and it was an easy decision for me.

    Great overview. We have the Genesis - but I almost bought this instead...hard to argue with the price point compared to Jetboil...but the Jetboil is a great stove too.

      Yeah, I think the Jetboil Genesis is great, but I just have a hard time equating that big of a price difference between the two for such a similar product. The Coleman is great!

    3:39 The dials are not opposite. Turning dials left increases flame, turning right decreases flame.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, as shown in the video, they do turn up and down. Technically, I suppose they both turn to the left, but one starts in the up position and goes down and the other starts in the down position and goes up.

    Way I see it, you get 80% of the cooking system for 30% of the price. It does the job, which is what matters. Everything past that's gravy.

      You’re not wrong. If you’re just boiling water or doing simple straight forward stuff, it works fine.

    Do you know if you can use a square cast iron 12 inch griddle on it without melting any plastic handles or anything?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, I haven't tried that myself. In the description of the product, it says that it can hold up to two 10" pans, so that size might be pushing it. I honestly think it would work, but since it's cast iron and would retain the heat, not sure if you would have any problems with it melting the plastic handles or damaging anything.

    • @WildcatPhoto
      @WildcatPhoto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got one, but afraid to try it. I keep it in the house for when the lights go out. I have ordered the Genesis, don't know if the griddle would work on that either. Probably was dumb considering the cost, but I will call it my Christmas present. At least it was during a sale.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WildcatPhoto They are really nice! I have a few friends with them and they're definitely superior to the Coleman. I just couldn't justify the cost for the basic cooking I do, but I'm sure you'll love it!
