      @@Keerthihistory India had 23% of the world's GDP in 1750 just because it had 25% of the world's population. Britain was already rich even before colonizing India. Look at the per-capita income of India and Britain in 1750s. Britain's per-capita income in 1750s were three times as that of India and the per-capita income of India was declining in India a century before Britain won Battle of Plassey. Saying India was richer than Britain by comparing total GDP in 1750s is like saying Utter Pradesh is richer than Goa at present.
      Later industrial revolution came in western world after scientific revolution with the invention of machines and technology like
      steam engine and their wealth increased exponentially and India's global share of GDP dropped to 4% in 1950. The same thing
      happened in China which wasn't colonized at least in the direct sense. China's per capita was even less than India at the time of
      independence. During 1750s China's per capita was more than that of India. If you say Asian countries are poorer because of colonization what happened to Nepal, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Liberia who hadn't undergone colonization. Note Nepal had the same history and culture which India had. Nepal is the poorest country in Asia, but it wasn't colonized by Britishers.

    Here are some of the things British did for education in india.
    1. Education for all irrespective of caste. Even lover class got education under British which they were denied previously under hindu rule.
    2. Education for women of all caste.
    3. Education of science and technology. All most all latest science and technology subjects have British founders, the reason they ruled the world, not due to some self proclaimed stupid religious or cultural superiority.

    I am in a corporate world and I have somewhat realized this 1.5 years ago that I am chasing something which is not grown in our home. Chasing Western clothes, ideas, moralities But I was never satisfied then I was chasing North Indian culture thinking that north indians are a bit superior to South indians. Then I realised This chasing will never stop and I will never be happy. Now I am embracing my south indian culture even in corporate world. I am wearing anklets, Tilak, bangles and ethnic dresses everyday. I have never been this much happier in my life. Britishers are the ones who inflicted the inferiority complex in forefathers and grand fathers which has been passed to us. Let's all practice our culture and let's not forget even if another invasion comes, we will stick hard to our sanskriti and culture. With this same culture we were the richest im the whole world before invasions. Let's become one again.

      I genuinely believe its due to hospitality i heard there was once a european whom visited india the place where landed, that king of that place in india gave the european many gifts and celebrated his visit but the european gave him only some clothing but they still treated him nicely.       @@dharshini-y4k yes sir.. all the things teaching in schools today is unwanted only.. the things which your kid is not interested or not able to take it, just why we have to keep test or exams on it.. it is a duty of a teacher to find out in what the kid is good at.. and encourage in that particular subject, it can be music, sports or dance also. It doesn't mean you should not teach other subjects, just going through the basic things is enough. Eg- in maths trigonometry, calculas, etc why these advance things when a student is poor in maths and is brilliant in some other subject. Failing in maths spoiled his career and good in other subject became no use.. Sachin Tendulkar is 10th std fail, but world famous sportsman. Why always expect your child to become something in education, why not sportsman, singer, dancer, actor, or whatever he or she is interested..

    Education was once preached to particular groups brahmin society and kshatriyas only during British the anglo model developed and preached to all forms of society and south Indian states was well adapted to this model and well educated
    We should really appreciate British

    Actually low caste people got educated and climbed highest positions.
    My own Great grandfather, went on to become Madras High court Judge, for his sincere work he was awarded Rao Bhahadur. And estate at Yercaud.

      If the Maharajas would be ruling, the poor, lower caste and woman would have not been educated. India would remain stuck there where the wealth would be only with the kings. Today with education as you mentioned we are able to build wealth and is more distributed with the people than before.

      just reading from books?
      what upper caste did was based on their caste/work[caste wasnt work based it was considered to be birth base by society as what father did is what son will do like as a brahmin[most brahmins were poor not all brahmins became advisor pandits] son will surely go for what his father did {and this was their fate they had to and since early ages of life like go see how a young child is in gymnastic many arents put them into it since 5-6 some even 3 yrs of age they practice it since childhood following it and they become best in that field in ages of 10 to max 14 and this was case in all caste u cant just compare a brahmin boy and a shudra boy of same age cuz both have different fields and are master in that field
      its like comparing humanity topper and science topper u actually cant compare them if they not have any one subject in common}]
      brahmins did religious learning
      kshatriya did defence
      vaishya commerce and trade
      shudra manual work which also includes craftsmen
      if what shudra did wasnt learning then our population would have already wiped out since that time it was farmer who new which seed is best and when should it be sown
      gupta pillar would have just been a rusty old broken pillar
      the trade that filled India with riches could never have been establish in first place as the gold embroidered cloths, spices soft fine cotton cloths ,jute bags nothing could be there
      let me tell u something which u forgot
      earlier there used to be auction near surat or any such port where Indian and foreigner traders bid and highest bid get the item and proof that Indian lower castes too were rich is the fact that is told in book which is that during great depression Indian peasantry communities and other communities from which british took works /agricultural products made them pay hig revenue[a lot high] so families sold gold and it was so much gold that britain was able to recover
      u forgot how british did monopoly and put so much revenue
      and if u think i lie then go read history
      even Indian lower caste was no less
      they had amazing skills which no one could match that is wht they were comparable to legs to society in form of brahma cuz without legs society cant walk legs supported society
      it wasnt that they were less powerful or inferior [dear i did lot research and that is why i concluded this
      head for brahmin means they lead society helping it in analytical thinking
      hands for kshatriya means they did defence protected people
      stomach for vaishya[not thighs] means they make outside money come in use of India
      legs for shudra means they supported society helping it stand walk run {shudra made houses utensils chairs clothes and everything in house even many shudra made weaponary as well}]
      next time go to some 'lowr' caste craftmen family whose members still do those jobs their ancestors did or go see ur own family members those who still didnt leave their ancestral skills they are amazingly good into it my own friend is a tamta[her one family member still knows those copper work skill and that person is so good in it ]
      and i am again saying cuz i have seen people reacting to when i say this go research

      @@venkateshu8715 and one of my another friend's family member makes sculptures they are so beautiful that knowing u shouldnt touch them ur own body cant control every curve is so fine every little detail and thats what goes unrecognize people think lower caste did nothing even though their field of work was different and if u go research how they work u will realise why many people stops shudra to become brahmin
      the work form in shudra was different from all other caste a whole family worked it was like a cell division of labour and if any part of cell is removed cell dont function fully affecting whole cell so if a shudra left his family its like escaping from duty making ur family suffer [i am talking of ancient times]and giving pain to ur own family is also a sin
      plus now though all castes have meat eaters and vegetarians
      earlier food too was based on requirement a brahmin who has to learn all 10000+ shloks was told to eat only vegetarian no onion/garlic food
      kshatriya too were not recommended to eat onion and garlic both rather they eat garlic only[and some choose onion over garlic]
      wile vaishya was allowed both garlic onion all 3 castes werent allowed meat[very few though choose meat and madira/alcohol which though was generally not allowed]
      shudra having to do manual work require more energy thus all sort of meat[except beef] was allowed but that too many times was asked to be first made a bali in front of goddess then consume
      [also dalit was as per texts a subset of shudra]
      now though all consume all things but earlier there was an order based on work
      also i just forgot name of scripture but yes it states all are born shudra and stay shudra in early months of life reason is that when we are baby we learn to speak to walk for walking we use our hands to hold we use our whole body in early months till we walk and speak completely
      also there are shloks of poor people in sanskrit[go research urself as i am tired cuz there is lot more😅{a thing on which i spent 2 months[at least] cant be explain in 2 comments}]

      Not Mughals..but only few chapters which dedicated to Mughals. .. otherwise u can have a view on the new syllabus of NCERT. There is whole Mughals History which is overlapped. So u can't say that they removed Mughals from the NCERT.

    I am aware of all the facts you have presented. At the same time, as a woman who grew up in INdia, I also know that I would not have had any access to education if it was not for the British education system that was introduced by them, no matter what their ulterior motives. INdia did have much knowledge. But it was always only accessible to elite males even far back into Vedic periods.

    After watching this even History teachers be like : what?
    I learnt in christian school and I am proud that I got good education and knowledge!
    But the thing is I forget my culture i.e 1) wearing traditional earings, 2) Mahandi to my hand, 3) my kautuka, 4)vibhuthi, 5) kunkuma, 6) ankle chain, 7) wearing traditional dresses, 8)wearing flowers to my hair 9) My great festivals, 10) my language, 11) even when my class wall is filled with other religion god photo and when we pray, we pray to one we don't follow💔.... And the change with in me I didn't find till 12 years and I opposed my cause... Now I am cristal clear.. What I have followed this all 12 years this is completely wrong.... According to me it's our duty to protect our culture and tradition... What ever our religion... Be it Hindu, Christian or Muslim...
    This all bullshit happened because of english system of education which is bought by British 😢....

      Do you have evidence that lower cast were denied education? Everyone had chance to educate. For example: Tukaram from Maharashtra saint from 16th century was poet and he belonged to lower caste. He was expert in reading/writing. People were trained in their professional education. Religious education may be restricted but reading/writing was never restricted. All the temples in India were build by shudra's . Without knowledge of civil engineering and learning , how they can built such advance structures ?

    Didi you should also talk about David Hare, John Elliott Drinkwater Bethune who dedicated their whole life to promote modern and female education in India.
    There were some Britishers who really wanted to increase literacy in every section of the Indian society 😊

      No they educated only those people who favored them. They needed a lot of clerks who need to know English and could help to serve them. The illusion of educating the masses was not British idea but people who understood only by learning English survival is possible they opened schools for the public. That took years many schools came to existence post independence.
      British built railways connected to the port to drain the wealth of the nation. The British built,converted buildings for making their administrative offices to govern the estate called India. They pushed missionaries to baptise people in western ways to stamp their ideologies are superior. They translated various Scriptures and injected their meaning defaming the local cultures of the nations. Their census officers made decades of effort in fixating people's caste by stamping them in the name of census.

    Just look at India model of EDUCATION is highly discrimination and only taught to upper communities and backward communities are denied and deprived of education during those days but British erased the discrimination and lower community people were encouraged to get education and the Indian education was mostly religious based

      I can help a bit with the economic aspect in the modern world. As she said during colonization the literacy rate was 12 percent and 7 percent for women (Hence another stigma to be broken that they empowered women and unfortunately many women believe their culture is better I do try to give them that perspective) ,one of the first ways they destroyed the Indian economy was by trade they monopolised it. 50 percent of the trade was with England and rest with Ceylon (Sri Lanka) , China and Persia. They made us the exporters of our raw materials (we were rich in resources) and importers of finished goods by them. Our trade structure was one of the strongest and we had relations with many countries but they all got limited as we were systematically de-industrialized. Our handloom industry was world famous but the restrictions of trade and the inflation of market by the cheaply made and imported British clothing ruined it. Agriculture which is also one of our strongest industries faced many issues especially under the Zamindari system, farmers were also forced to grow commercial crops, I guess you must know about Indigo plantations they were forced to grow which didn't allow crop rotation and made land infertile, famines were common occurrences. The export surplus they made by using our trade they used it for their expenses and domestic commodities became limited. These are just the few ways how we went from being rich in resources, wealth and intellect to reaching an extent were we had to go to World Bank and IMF that made us get a conditional loan and weren't willing to give it otherwise. Even today a lot of what happened during that time impacts us. Railways which is considered a contribution by them was for easier transport of raw materials to ports and England it's not a contribution they did to benefit us but only themselves it helped us a little but cost us a lot. I am not as good as Keerthi di she is a history graduate but I am studying history and plan to get a degree in it. It is good that we are beating the UK in economy now but we definitely need to work on respecting our own culture.

    1. On Friday casual or any cultural event wear kurta or our traditional dress
    2. Tikka or Tilak whenever u go outside
    3. Mostly in corporate function in ofc let's try and discuss benifit of Bhagwad Gita and why should we follow it
    4. As a parent or in a group discuss and share the stroy of purans
    5. Spread the benifits or knowledge......why we celebrate our festival like Sankranti, Diwali, Holi
    6. Speak as much as we can in regional language only whether it's in ofc or any public space

    Before British rule education was limited to upper cast only . Indian population grew almost 40% from 1871 to 1941. Even though increase in total literates, literacy rate remain low. Even after independence we don't have proper education system.

    Your twisted BJP history should admit that there was a reservation on education from vedic age. British made education for all. Sanskrit was lost cause, and English made one respectable with education. People respected missionaries because people understood that no human was God based on ones birth, the way vedic people created their course. Indian wealth was agricultural, there was no Google jobs. People who worked under the hot climate where not vedic people, but mainly native non vedic people who are now groped as SCs and STs and slum dog education system for them today.

    Yes I agree with you that Mecaley refused sanskrit literature because it was tough to one particular community and also that is not use for livelihoods. Hence he arranged to teach us maths ,science, history, biology. As a historian you know that, British teach us our history Chola, Pandya, chera, maurya, gupthas. Untill we knew that Ramayana, Mahabharata were our history. Manusmiriti was our law.

    She is teaching Arab Conquest of Sindh as Mughal History. Friends Mughal History started in 1526 AD not in 8th century when Sindh was invaded. Also she is quoting Sita Ram Goel , a controversial historian as her source.

    British brought universal education. Our education quality was good with intuition as main element.
    Extraordinary skill elements were there in our system. But skill became outdated with indl revolution

      British brains work on 'excuse-based' nonsense. I.e. They kill a person and say I saved him from the stupid world.
      They came up with Upper/lower castes to create a divide in a system that is self-sustaining and has no issues of co-existance as-is.
      The education happens within a family in the old system + with a guru in a local gurukul. Caste has nothing to do with it but the kind of education they get - which was more streamlined towards thier own occupation. If you think that is inequality, in the modern british mediocre education system - one studying engineering when another is doing medicine is also inequality.
      The british education destroyed the creation of 'ukku' a kind of indegenous Indian steel the world has lost as british destroyed the old systems. The technique/knowledge/education of making 'ukku' (a kind of dragon-steel) is lost forever, which is far superior to the steel we know now.
      Question for you - guess which UPPER caste was carrying the knowledge of this 'ukku' making in pre-british India? - You know sarcasm when you see it, don't you?

    Ofcourse Britishers brought their education system only for their favours....but, What about the education system in India before their invasion..?
    Did all indians get good education.? Indians were so casteist and some communities were so conscious about not letting others get educated and developed..
    Only few communities ( especially Brahmin ) got Educated. Those were also about Bagwad Gita, Vedas and some other dump things.... and not predominantly about science & maths...
    Only after British many brutal systems like " Sati" and many others were terminated in india.
    Don't just over act like everything were perfect in india before Britishers..
    They looted many. but it does not mean everything were perfect before their invasion.

    When you are from a missionary school and literally had a subject called morals which has everything from Bible and continuously they tell kids about conversion and how they'll go to heaven if they convert, they weren't forced but they were told this again and again until you pass out of the school ... And I'm also one of those they. This is my school stroy , we had great teachers and everything but I hated this part after I became mature enough to understand what it actually meant , I'm an atheist now I believe in our true itihas, I refer to them as Sri Krishna or Shri Ram and not bhagvan

    I am afraid I don’t agree with you on this concept. Indian education was excluded to a vast majority of folks due to the caste divide. The British opened up the education system to people irrespective of caste. Also in terms of reforms regarding women I think they did a great job. However, I could be wrong I request to explore this aspect and provide us a more detailed video on this concept. Also some of the missionaries you accuse of conversion also made good reforms to Tamil language and gave it proper written form if I am not mistaken. I hope you have heard of Veerama munivar whose origin is supposed to from Italy. Anyway, I would like more clarity on the subject. I request you to clarify and upload a more detailed video on this subject as well. And, although you didn’t state this in your video, I’d like make one thing clear. Indian Christians were here long before the British. Christianity in India has over a 2000 year history with the coming of St Thomas the disciple of Christ.

    About a school controlled by British government, in an organised event held in a place where the day ahead of that event some British officer forcibly made some Brahmin priest eat meat to take that temple for church .
    After knowing that one student took in-charge of a plan who made British officers eat meat in the church to protest that.

    I agree the fact that Indians were educated to serve british , but the original education system of India did not allow depressed classes to get education.
    Many of the depressed Indian classes got educated by Christian Missionaries.
    If it had not been so,.still the depressed classes would be doing menial jobs and serving this so called Educated upper class Indian society.

    There are many colleges established by Christian missionaries in India since British rule. But telling that Christians established these colleges for sole purpose of conversion is just blatant lie. Literally every town or city in India has a Christian college or school. If you look at the history of some of those colleges we learn that the maharajas and kings of those place donated the land to establish these institutions. If they were just converting students then the percentage of Christians in India would be very high. Christians are just less than 3% in India. I’m a Christian I studied in a Christian school and college and among my school mates most of them where Hindus then Muslims and Christians were least in number And the last time I checked all of them are still following their religion happily and also a proud alumni of our school and college. And we are still friends

      Tell this to those people who don't know about the reality even I studied in a Christian school till my 8th grade where I was not even allowed to and there when I used to wear Ayyappa mala, maharajas donated the land for them as a charity , the rate is low ! Should I tell you how there doing the business of conversions there are so many people hindu on paper (for reservation) and practicing Christianity even I have Muslims and Christians as a friend , and some of my fellow classmates who are from Christianity whenever I used to give them Prasad they refused and mock me that I am idol worshiper

He mentioned that in 1812 India literacy rate was 90 percent and is well documented in British parliament in that time even Gandhi also mentioned it. British destroyed Indian native education system. British make Train and Road because it helps them to transport looted money and resources. They looted about 45 trillion Dollar according to expert estimate.     I still remember when I studied in a Christian school we were not allowed to wear anything gold. If needed, we were supposed to get a letter from our parents stating that if lost, institution is not responsible
