- The Interactive Video Games in the bonus round of the show are real-time interactive computer simulations. The players must progress through 3 LEVELS of challenge within a 1-minute time period to completely conquer the bonus round. Each level of the bonus round is a self-contained environment with its own storyline and objective. Levels 1 and 2 require each player to act alone and complete a 3-tiered task such as: "capture three bananas high up in the jungle trees", or "shut down three anti-matter reactors while avoiding the laserbots and insectoids". If levels 1 and 2 are completed, both players together advance to level 3 where they "face today's game wizard for control of the videozone". There are 13 individual interactive game levels and 3 wizard levels, computer programmed with graphics and sound effects, and 9 original musical scores for these games.
watching this show as a kid was a mixture of jealousy that i wasn't on it, and straight up awe, like i was getting a glimpse at some perfect future.
I always imagined that the contestants were seeing the video game stuff instead of what I now understand is probably a green screen obstacle course.

I always wanted to be on said show too when I was a kid. I wanted to show those amateurs how to play half the games they would fuck up on. I also wanted to be on legends of the hidden temple as well.

I wanted to be on this show so badly growing up! Pretty sure everybody that grew up in the 90’s wanted to be a contestant on any of the Nickelodeon game shows like Double Dare, Guts, and Legends of the Hidden Temple.
I loved this show as a kid , and as an adult this show would totally work for a reboot . like imagine how this segment would not only look , but you could make this thing in a 3d realm sort of thing

For some reason, me getting a VR headset last month finally satiated my burning desire to go on this show just to do the final challenge.
I use to watch this show a lot back in the day. My favourite level in the game is the boss level. You have Merlock, Mongo, and Scorchia. These villains are divided like this:
Merlock- Brains
Mongo- Brauns
Scorchia- Beauty
How so? All 3 levels have the exact same layout but with different sprites & characters.
I use to watch this as a lil kid and thought how utterly terrifying it must be to actually be thrust into these video games, and wondering if it actually hurt if they got hit by something. As a jaded adult I understand now it was just green screen and they were seeing the game from a monitor.
I want to go back to being a kid.
The Mongo part of the upload was from the “Liz & Caleb vs. Julie & Patrick” episode, judging from what I saw on Paramount+.
You know if I reboot Nick Arcade, I'd add more gaming elements to Nick Arcade, including Game Trivia (not just the games themselves but also history, hidden secrets, and even gaming commercials and promotions) Head-to-Head multiplayer gameplay (with actual games), and video challenges (with classic video games including, NES, SNES, Genesis, Playstation, N64, Gamecube & PS2), & the video zone would have two new Wizards, a Blue Water Atlantian Mermaid named "Marinea" & a Yellow Wind Steampunk Harpie named "Starknie", also each different wizard would have different hazards with:
-Scorcher's having flame jets coming out of the floor
-Mongo's having Earthquakes that come as waves of earth that the player has to jump over
-Merlock's having lighting clouds that rain down lighting but you'll be protected if you're under a platform
-Marinea's having sudden tidal waves that can hurt the player on one side on the ground floor
-Starknie's having large cyclones that can pop up the end of one side and goes towards the center before it evaporates
do you think that would be good
Very creative. The original wizard levels were all exactly the same. So if you redesigned them to all be different, they have to be balanced so no Wizard level is harder than the rest. Maybe give a difficulty option, for example Mongo would be easy with less obstacles & enemies, and easier objectives if you need to collect orbs. But the the prizes wouldnt be as great as say, defeating the Grand Wizard Merlin as the "Final Boss" as the "Hard" difficulty and winning you the grand prize. Something awesome like tickets for 4 to E3, Comicon or similar convention type event of your choosing. All expenses paid ofcourse for a 1 week trip, including hotel & car rental. ALSO a fully loaded Custom MAME arcade cabinet fitted for 4 players on a 60inch flatscreen smart tv. And one last prize, a used copy of Mario/Duck Hunt for the NES.
As long as we face Starknie in the wizard level while avoiding dangerous cannon fire and creatures, I'm totally game with this.
@@MeximidgeComedy A Difficulty setting for a game show, that's kind of unique I like it, I even have a list of what the prizes should be for each setting:
Easy
>For defeating the first level: a collection of classic Nintendo Power and/or GamePro Magazines and/or player's guides
>for defeating the second level: three used classic video games *even to where they explain the total price of how much all of the games are worth together*
>for defeating the Wizard Level: a Dave-and-Busters or Chuck-E-Cheese game card that has 5,000 game credits on them *but you won't be able to add more credits on there*
Medium:
>for defeating the first level: a complete collection of the entire series of games from a classic video game franchise
>for defeating the second level: a used classic Video Game Console with multiple controllers (and a multiplayer adapter if the system requires one to play with more than two players) and a couple of hit games from the system
>for the defeating the Wizard Level: a paid expensed trip to EVO or whatever major Pro League Gaming Tournament is going on during their filming
Hard:
>for defeating the first level: a New Laptop computer complete with a headset and a PC game controller
>for defeating the second level: a specially made game room consisting a pool table, an air hockey, stick hockey, or foosball table, and the team's used Arcade Cabinets of the team's top 5 favorite arcade games
>for a defeating the Wizard Level: a trip for four on a paid expensed cruise ship getaway

The rings in the Enchanted Flight level look just like the rings from Sonic the Hedgehog Games.
Except if the player gets hit, he/she doesn't jump and drop all the rings while it's jingling.
Honestly, this was some RADICAL 90’s tech.
There was a show like this on my childhood here in spain... It was/is awesome.... there was even a SNES challenge where the contestant must complete a lap in Super mario kart under a certain time, for example.
now all programs in spain are realitys (big brother, that one where people get abandoned in an island, cooking competitions...) or celebrity gossip shows...
The video zone is my favorite part of Nick Arcade.
Most of these Video Zone clips are from season two, but a few are from season one. You can tell what season they're from based on the clock font. Just so everyone knows, if the clock font has a flat top number 3, then it's from season two.

I felt sorry for the kids sometimes. I remember seeing one where they used up all the time and couldn't even hit the start button. The hit detection is terrible, there are some things that are impossible for them to avoid. Like at 4:04 when he hits the cactus, he was bend down as far as he could to avoid it.

I'm sorry to say I'll be unable to donate money for Enthlevel the kids game show you were hoping to launch in the future due to me being busy in life. Hope you understand. Even if Enthlevel doesn't get launched do you think maybe more Nick Arcade episodes could be released on iTunes like they were in December 2013 please? Hope Enthlevel is still able to launch & take care.
"Nickelodeon Arcade" should've returned for a third season (1993) with Kirk Fogg as the new host and the same announcer. (Andrea Lively)
If I were to REBOOT this show (pun intended), it would have four rounds where the questions in round 1 are worth 25 points. The questions in round 2 are worth 50 points. The questions in round 3 are worth 75 points. The questions in round 4 are worth 100 points. The goal in round 1 is worth 50 points. The goal in round 2 is worth 100 points. The goal in round 3 is worth 150 points. The goal in round 4 is worth 200 points. There would be 10 video games to choose from in the Video Challenge. The team would have 120 seconds (2 minutes) to get through 5 levels.

Scorchia had to be the hardest boss in Nick Arcade. In almost every episode many players fell to her. Only rare few had defeated her.
She's considered the defacto Final Boss of Nick Arcade.

Can you imagine how annoying this was? Your standing in front of a green screen and looking over at a camera to see if your being hit or near the goal. There's literally no game to it. Just a video and some guy deciding if you got it or not.
