Sahara Dance, Washington DC's Center for Middle Eastern Dance, is a boutique dance studio dedicated to celebrating the joy and beauty of belly dance.
Seeking to create a community for belly dancers and to elevate belly dance as a performance art, Sahara Dance produces annual theater productions highlighting both traditional and experimental belly dance. Founded in 2004, Sahara Dance offers over 70 weekly belly dance classes at 5 locations in DC, MD and VA.
The studio is home to 20 faculty members, five resident performance companies, and over 800 belly dancers.
