In the army your actually sometimes not allowed to warm up the mre because the enemy troops can see the steam and locate your base so eating it cold is the true experience
I mean, I sure hope you’re smart enough to not sit there in front of the enemy, in the middle of the night… with a hot steaming bag of food. At that point it’s kinda your fault haha

My grandfather was in the Army in WW2, not sure his occupation but I know he helped with the code talkers, my father was Air Force in Vietnam as a jet mechanic, I'm Army infantry, been to Afghanistan and I'm trying to convince my son to go Airforce and pick an occupation that can transfer over in the civilian life and hopefully there's no wars going on then. That might be good, but some others arent. The base doesnt let you choose what MRE you want, they choose it for you. Of course, the soldiers trade their food sometimes, but i dont think its allowed.
Try chili with beans and put the cheese spread into the chili once heated up and it will melt into the chili and make it so good at least in mre standards
