    I loved watching skippy as kid in England. We had a few Australian TV shows. Neighbours, Home and Away, and Skippy are the ones that we mostly watched.

    Love you Ann Jones. I just discovered your videos and aside from being very informative they are highly entertaining, part of that is your hilarious laugh. 2021 - I hope you are still making them or some other videos.

    Lol, I'm glad I saw the part where Dr Ann points out the human hands controlling Skippy's hands before I came to the comments to say that's what I'd guess was happening...

    Jerboas also move the same way as kangaroos so they aren't the 'only' animals that get around this way.

    I have absolutley no idea how you came across my recommendations, but I just binged over 3 hours of your vids. This one about about kangaroos was so incredible and so informative, I have to go watch more tomorrow. You are so fun to watch and learn more from. I have always been facinated with the critters of your country, and, yet, so disgusted what humans have done to the ecosystem over the centuries. But, Australia will prevail!

    Very interesting! I remember seeing some nature show that stated 'roos were incapable of moving their legs independently. Mind you, that show was probably made 30+ years ago, so there's likely been a good deal of studying since then. Nevertheless, the swimming thing was news to me; thanks very much for the informative programme!

    What's the difference between Kangaroos, wallabies and wallaroos?

    • @ABCScience
      @ABCScience 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi there, the short answer: Differences in genes, teeth, body size, habitat and diet.
      Kangas are bigger and graze on grass, while wallabies are smaller and have a more mixed diet (including leaves). A wallaroo, which eats grass, sits somewhere between these too. If you see/have any videos of wallaroos and wallabies, send them our way! We’d love to make a video on these lesser-known macropods.
