You should have got a 2nd opinion. Dogs/ animals are very resilient physically. You’d be amazed at their ability to withstand ill health & not only survive but thrive.
Hope it’s a lesson learnt: rescued dogs need vet assessment & treatment before anything else. If they fall ill & condition is serious, always seek a 2nd opinion, even a 3rd.
