- Praggnanandhaa and Arjun Erigaisi are two of India's biggest talents. They played against each other in the second round of the Tata Steel Chess India Rapid 2021. They reached a rook endgame and it seemed like the game would end in a draw, but both of them wanted to continue playing, continue posing questions to their opponent. And so, the game moved on and in no time we reached an amazing endgame! IM Sagar Shah commentates on this game. Going over the video is not just a thrilling experience for the viewer but will also help him to become a stronger chess player!

Arjun Prag and Nihal are most humble of the lot, wish they touch more and more heights
rook vs knight is quite complicated to win. When pawns were gone , I thought it is draw. Still it required precision and excellent technique to keep the knight away from his king and trap it. Glad to see young players playing like experienced professionals.

@@arunarvind7195 Honestly it's very difficult for any of these young indians to replicate Anand success. Anand was a better player as a young player, and there were no computers back then! Once in a century talent. Maybe 100 years new Anand show up.

5:26 1.Rd1 Kh2. 2.Rd5! And black has no moves ...he will play g5 3.Kxg5 if Kg2 just Rd2+. If 3...Ng3 of course still Rd2+. If 3...Nf2+ 4. Kf3 attacking the knight and it doesnt matter if you defend or move it to h3 white has a combination of Rd2 and Kg3 to threten both mate and capturing the knight. So Rd1 followed by Rd5 was immediately winning for prag, a two move combo. He won a nice endgame anyway
