Stevie Ward appeared on Sky Sports News to discuss his documentary 'Living With Concussion'. The former Leeds Rhinos captain announced his retirement from Rugby in January after suffering two head injuries early in 2020
Concussion has proven life-changing for Ward beyond simply giving up his playing career. Even now, 20 months on, he suffers with debilitating physical symptoms such as migraines, dizziness, nausea, and sensitivity to light and noise.
Those ongoing struggles are among those explored in the documentary Stevie Ward - Living With Concussion - which was broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event and Mix at 5.30pm on Wednesday, and is available via Sky On Demand and on the Sky Sports News TH-cam channel - as well as the mental health issues he has had to face.

Wow. Thank you for talking about this. Post concussion syndrome, has wrecked my life over the last 2 years, and nobody’s gets what I’m going through. Thank you

Me too Ben! I totally relate. The worst thing that’s happened in my life. So much more needs to be said to make people aware of it. I’m so grateful for this. Wishing you speedy recovery 🙏🏼

@@MyPentland I think I may have it too. Got assaulted at work. Do you feel tired even after you get a full night's rest. I feel a constant pressure in my head like fog. It's not a headache but it just feels off and spacey. I also can't go to bars or clubs where the bass music is too high. My head starts to hurt then.

@@goldenage773 yeah it sounds like it. Take it easy and seek treatment asap.

I am glad to see that he has recovered and has used this platform to speak about his ordeal.
Wish him and his loved ones a happy life ahead as sport at the top level is cut-throat and often people tend to forget the human side of the story. 😃

We all know what we are getting into when we play contact sport. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know knocks to the head aren’t good for you, it’s not ballet

Not just knocks to the the head - but to the body. A hard knock to the body can create a traumatic jolt to your brain.
