    I love how straight forward and lovely couple yall are My Wife and I have a very similar setup and I can say that garlic wnd pumpkin seeds works. We just got turkeys and have a mixed flock and it’s good to know that this also helps them🎉

      Thank you so much for those kind words Samuel. That was nice to read. 😊
      Garlic is a game changer for sure. I am giving a garlic concentrate to our goats now. We went with the Kiko goats over Nubians because we kept having parasite issues, but I have recently learned about the garlic concentrate for goats. I just wasn’t using enough for them.
      Good luck with your turkeys. What kind are y’all raising?

    The 21st is the Winter Solstice. Equinox is from the same root as equal. It is when night and day are the same length.

    You can preseason all you want but that does not "make it so"! Hello Dwight...do you remember Mr. Wayne...the original homesteader? B & D's homestead is just across the hill from us near Marion NC...they will be invited to come sit on our front porch...when the "season" is right...we may let ya'll listen in...stay tuned...MW borrowed my wife's computer...mine is broken!

      Randy, you aren't allowed to be her critic because I am the one who hassles her unmercifully. Honestly, I hadn't caught that she had said equinox or else she would have been raked over the coals by me.
      I know you do not know me, so I better say that I was just kidding of course.
      They do such a great job. Their research is impeccable, so I love to tease Ben and Denise whenever I can, but I think they know that I enjoy watching anything they produce. They are my favorite channel and I hope that they really catch on with tons of viewers.

      Hi Wishbone Ranch, thank you!
      For maintenance I use about about 2 small cloves once or twice a week. We have 19 chickens.
      If I see a problem I will do it daily for several days.
      You can also add it to water, about a clove per 4-5 gallons. but I would start with a small amount in their food or water as they get used to it, otherwise they may not eat it. I hope that helps!

    • @RenewedHomestead

      Hi Hannah, you can use a garlic powder, I will use a powder as a preventative, but if I see problems I will just cut up garlic and throw it in their feed. I hope that helps.

    Does the garlic need to be fresh or powdered

    • @RenewedHomestead
      @RenewedHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nana, raw garlic will be stronger. Don’t used cooked garlic. I do use dehydrated or freeze dried garlic for maintenance because it is convenient, but raw is best, especially if you notice a problem.

    Is it fresh, dried minced or powder??

    • @RenewedHomestead
      @RenewedHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amy, if I see evidence of parasites I am giving them raw garlic (typically minced) and in their feed. To prevent I use dehydrated garlic in their feed once or twice a week.
