@@thebaguiochannel pag aralaan pa rin nila yan kasi masikip ang area ng airport. Baka someday ma expand ang runway kung makaya. I heard umaga lang ang flight di pala pwede sa gabi magproblema sa visibility dahil mag fog daw dyan.
Tama ka, morning lang at walang fog or clouds. Dati, madalas na ma-divert ang flight dahil diyan. 🙂
This is a huge success to both provinces. From Feb to Sept 2022 alone tourist arrivals of Cebu reached 2 million visitors (wala pang December tataas pa yan) 1.5 million of which are foreign nationals. Since Cebu is the gateway from the south malaking tulong to sa turismo ng Baguio madali na sila mapuntahan lalo na tourists from Visayas and Mindanao. Excited to visit Baguio soon😘

Big applause to ATC team in Baguio aside from clever pilots assigned there. Considering the mountainous topography and elevation of more than 4k ft above sea level this runway is tricky to handle, imho.
Yes, I think it is a short runway on top of the mountain! Precarious so they are indeed good pilots!

It would be nice if Loakan Airport services more provinces other than Cebu, flying commercially to Baguio is much more effecient than driving or riding the bus, and obviously a flight to Baguio saves alot more time.

An event that elicited a good amount of fanfare. That was nice. I googled flights to and from Loakan and I saw that there are also flights to Manila and Puerto Princesa (Palawan). That can only be good for domestic and foreign tourists as a five hour bus or car ride can be challenging to a few. The tarmac could use some pressure washing, other than that the airport is very nice, from what can be seen.
Hi Linikit! You got me checking google for flights. Unfortunately, those are connecting flights with the hub being Cebu. There are currently no other direct destinations from Baguio except for Cebu, so you have to take a flight to Cebu then Manila or Puerto Princesa. The Manila flight would not be feasible since it would take the same amonut of time,( 5 hours) to get there but would cost 10x more. The destinations in the southern philippines, like Palawan or Davao would be more practical. Other direct flights would probably come later if the current schedule becomes profitable and there is demand. Thanks for commenting and hopefully you can come visit soon!

Yes, Raymond Cebu-Baguio flights are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday departing Mactan Cebu at 8:50 AM while Baguio-Cebu returning flights are scheduled to depart at 11:10 AM
