- There are massive warning signs that we are full speed heading into this recession. Every single week we seem to get more and more of them. The latest ones, major companies are now just refusing to pay their bills as if that is "normal" and means no trouble ahead. Give me a break...

Here in Oregon, we do need to continually raise property taxes on property owners so the governor can have a bigger pool of cash to spend on the rapidly growing population of drug addicts littering the sidewalks, streets and parks across the state -- we like to call them homeless, but really they are drug addicts and people with severe mental problems, who coincidentally don't like to work or live in a home.
Remember, it's the unhoused now. 😂😂😂

That’s why we moved to the south…..
We can thank a previous administration back in the 80's which was responsible for closing down state mental hospitals/institutions which would have addressed the problem of the addicts and mentally ill in our country today.
We do need to organize. Enough is enough with this outrageous taxation without proper representation and severe lack infrastructure maintenance.
If The Wizard of Oz was made today, Dorothy would say There's no place like a home that I can afford.
Taxes use to be charged to everyone because the things financed were supposed to be for the common good of all, like public schools, except now the things the taxes were supposed to fund are now all crap, so why should we pay anymore?
Taxation is, and always has been, extortion & theft.
i personally don't understand how commercial real estate has not already collapsed. so many stores have been vacant since covid and office parks are nearly empty.
Your right where does the money go from property taxes especially school taxes they are raking in double and triple what they were a few years ago and yet the kids aren’t any smarter where is all the tax money going to the salaries for teachers and superintendents
The only people paying should be those who have kids in school that’s it
I wouldn't want to not pay my bills, because eventually it all comes crashing down on you. A company won't last long if it isn't paying its bills.
When the landlord raised the rent by $800, I said the same thing: 'what if we (the renters) strike'. Although most were in agreement, no 1 wanted to risk eviction/their credit. I ended up finding a bigger spot for $400 less, so now I helping my old neighbors search for new properties as well. 👋🤓
Just shocked those houses your passing are over a million, they look so ordinary and the yards are awful, just crazy.
flooding the border with open borders. the demand will increase.

Have you visited California? The weather is nice and lots of people want to live there, hence the higher prices.
Hi Michael, I am also a Florida resident and I can tell you that a large chunk of the increased property taxes are going to increased salaries and pensions of law enforcement and firefighters. People , including me are really struggling to pay these ever increasing rates.
Well...at least our police are policing.....but yeah, unsustainable
I am more concerned about my retirement.
@williamlyons3947 I'm alright with police pensions, they have a high risk job. The rest of the state employees who sit at desks, should get same bennies as average worker...
We need to rename “We Work” to “Now we don’t work” As you brought up the AI Girl, the address you walked by was 666.
Wow, that’s a good eye Michael I actually noticed that when I was filming the video… you’re the only one who mentioned it so far
I remember the national debt being an issue in the 80s. Our HS economics teacher said you could sit by a big pile of money and throw a dollar bill one at a time out a window and never pay it back in your entire life. Its staggering to see what it's become over my life regarding our government and spending. This is why a lot of these dinosaur politicians scare me because they've lived this way forever and won't have to deal with the consequences for long.
politicians don't care because the worst caes scenario is they just lose their jobs. they dont' have their lives in jeopardy of Sserious bodily injury and or death. even when monarchs or under feudalistic society when there were a chance they could be maimed/killed they still ruled recklessly
I'm 55 and so agree but I'm seemingly the only person in my friend's and colleagues group that is genuinely concerned. Being the largest debtor nation in world history won't end well especially for future generations.
Michael ,I don't have kids and I was paying school taxes on 3 properties ,so I sold all of them and live In my rv, they can stuff it
I love American know how, where there is a will there is a way.
I like that idea! The fact that you’re no longer subject to that is awesome. I don’t know if I’m ready for that. I like having a permanent home for now.
Kids benefit society. Because people don’t have kids anymore we have old demographics and economy is not productive. That’s why abortions are tightened and illegal immigrants are let in the USA to make babies.
If you at least work, then you pension will be protected best if more young people will be working when you are old.
Plus, you are man. Don’t feel more sorry for yourself than a single mom.
I don't have kids either, but I am willing to contribute to education for the good of everyone. Think about it...
Those taxes are used instead of wasted, and that's nothing compared to what DC is spending for you and taking from you.
If you want a good government we will need a new one. If we got together we would have to all agree to the rules.
It's not the government, it's the people who are trying to destroy the government and make a new one, that's who's the problem.
Not the way so much of the population has been manipulated for the benifit of a corrupt government.
Government is enslavement.
lol, you must not be from around here.
New government won't solve anything. Sociopaths always take over because of their faked charisma.
I think the gaslighting by the government, denying reality, is making us all anxious about everything.
THIS is the very Government the founders warned us all about.
For sure if there was more transparency, people could plan better and figure out their next move but instead, we’re all left in the dark until shtf

It literally is not.
Funding and local control of schools property tax. An uneducated society cannot succeed.
@@MiamiPush2theLimit It is if you see where the money went
Property tax is the ugliest form of taxation. Fund the parasite school administrators through sales tax. Don't take my house if I miss a year or 2 of property tax extortion. TH-cam could replace public schools.
How will state and local governmental employees get paid?
Micheal asked the right question. What are we paying for? My experience is that they collect money and then sit on it.
I think it's kind of obvious at this point that many local officials are pocketing the excess, there's just no other explanation at this point because they certainly aren't using it to better things.
Sit on it in their back pockets.
All types of schemes exist to funnel tax revenue into private accounts.
Think about it, they campaign and spend millions for a nominal pay job- there has to be a reason why..
@@johnyvik7242 I think politics is corrupt by it's nature, some politicians will of course be better than others but so long as we have a system like this we're always going to be on the losing end of the stick with taxation.

I was lucky enough to spend time with my good friend recently from NYC, He says a lot of office buildings are being converted to residential properties.

I think it is close to 8 million homes in Florida are second homes . I believe the percent of condos is even higher . Every condo building I know of by the ocean and intracoastal were 80 % vacant during the off season months. What could this effect have on Florida Real estate if we have a recession . Florida could also change laws to make non resident ownership even more expensive. This would lower the residence home shortage
yeah but those homeowners are paying the montly fees whether they are there or not

Cant wait for 2024 economic collapse
Our government is so irresponsible these people consistently invent new ways to tax citizens at every turn. I wonder how many times we are paying tax. Our paychecks are taxes and then we are taxed again and again with every purchase we make , and for every asset we own. It’s like a criminal enterprise.
Btw, that AI girlfriend bit at the end…its hilarious, but sad and pathetic. What do we expect when kids are playing video games and interacting with technology more than actual living people???
i love the simplicity of your videos walking around and just talking to us
You are so right about taxes
Great video as always 👍
Wow, you really said a mouthful this episode.
Hi, I watch your videos everyday , thank you, they are very informative .
I have a comment on the Dollar Stores story you covered yesterday...since they raised their prices to 1.25 savvy shoppers, are skipping the $store and go to other stores to shop due to price and size comparison. Random example .....toilet bowl cleaner 10oz non brand 1.25 vs .89 for 14oz at walmart.
I am also curious if you know about the National Realtors Association , they partnered with Fractional and they are emailing agents to offer them being part of fractional owning real estate. From what I also understood is that they are also offering them to buy their listings??? This is sooo crazy!!
Remember all the interest paid for treasuries is more borrowed money by the government. Debt spiraling
7:40. That's a really nice fence.
AMEN!! Unionize the country
I think it would be kinda cool for you to do these videos and go into some of the open houses. Maybe talk to some of the other people looking at the house. See what exactly those people are even thinking buying a house right now.

-$51k is what my friend who is a mortgage loan officer here in Az had to cut off his house since it has been on the market with no buyers in 3 weeks. He had paid $53k over asking price in 2021. Sales have slowed down to a point he has to downsize. These are the times
That's right these are the times. I wonder why he's selling. He should've known better, especially being in the business.
@@MichaelBordenaro I am assuming they cannot afford the mortgage payment since he had to start working for Door Dash to make ends meet. Also not sure why but him and his wife are rushing on closing on a new build late this month. The new build they said they are going through offers to buy down the interest rate and are being given "good incentives" on closing cost. Plus they will get warranty on the whole house. Michael this doesn't make any sense to me and why a mortgage officer would make such moves vs selling and renting and waiting for house prices to go down. I really hope they don't end up with a house they can't sell and payments due on a new build simultaneously 😵💫
@@Garage23 wow that sounds pretty crazy. Sounds like he’s still chasing the market. you would think with the amount of closings that he’s doing going down and not writing as many loans that would be the writing on the wall for him. I guess some people need to learn the hard way.
@@MichaelBordenaro I agree. When I suggested renting and waiting it out to buy he scoffed and said renting is a waste of money.

I work in a shared office space in Fort Lauderdale. It’s packed and is really cool to speak with the members from time to time. Then again, we live in Florida and the mindset of closing down stores during the pandemic was not looked kindly at. I don’t blame them. Downtown it’s always busy. Restaurants and businesses opened up asap here and was so grateful to live in Florida during the pandemic. Who know if I would have a roof over my head and a job if I had live in California during the pandemic.
When Eisenhower was president, the rich had a 90% tax rate, and this country was far better off for regular people.
Yea im trying to bear off that profit but boom it and pull that bull by the reigns.

I grew up in this neighborhood! Terra Linda. I recognized the houses (Eichlers).
Once the debt limit is reached the sheriff's office will deal with it .
Eichler houses are famous here and in NY. The best 2 places to live in San Rafael(warmer Northern Marin) are Lucas Valley and Peacock Gap.
You’re 100% right Michael I even thought we should invent STRIKE app that will help citizens unite and stand up and protest. Unplug the insurance corps and governments from $ in protests, create opposition to all this madness going on in government.
What a cute neighborhood. I love those mid century houses!
And as for the weather in south Florida, it was 93 yesterday and this weekend will be hot. Then we finally get a few degrees break for a few days lol😂
I am a mid century modern guy and former Californian so I enjoyed the October blue skies and architecture background very much. I was looking for MCM in Florida and almost bought a nice, small, Coconut Grove adjacent one in Miami in mid 2020 in the mid 5s before all the escalation of all the real estate problems you discuss on your channel. You are on some kind of deluxe long vacation.
No he's making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..🤑🤑🤑🤑😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I see interest rates on the government T notes going up and up. Apart from the fed rate, this will continue to drive inflation. The government needs higher yields to attract investors to finance their debt. Apart from the 4 trillion dollar deficit we will run in 2023, the financing of that debt will be ever more expensive. That’s the biggest reason to enact a balanced budget amendment
I used to say the same thing regarding 'why dont we all stop paying taxes?'. I believe that if this happened, those who continue to pay taxes would start to attack those who aren't paying taxes' many people are born slaves and will submit to the abusive master.
Going to coin this phrase now: future home equity as a down payment 😂 it's coming

I’m amazed at the very creative and high maintenance fence designs that you walk by…..makes me wonder if anyone likes their neighbors in these affluent neighborhoods that you’ve been frequenting out there in CA. 😂
I’m pretty sure it’s a very isolating vibe in places like this. Don’t go trying to borrow a cup of sugar.
According to Robert Frost, "Good fences make better neighbors"
More affluent neighborhoods are no different than other neighborhoods. Some neighbors will be your friends, others won't. Some will be nosy. Some you'll never know.
Meet Kevin thought the fed would pivot before the first rate hike 😂 we are now approaching multi decade highs! A lot of people didn’t take QT seriously and now that’s the talk on walk street.
Nothing like working from home. Less traffic, less chance of being at risk of anything happening. Choosing to leave your home with that option is sus
It depends. I called AT&T last year or so ago, and the Sev.Rep. I got I could hardly understand because the kids in the background were playing with pots and pans and banging the lids.

It’s not sus. Some of like being around others while working. Some of us are extroverts.
Kaiser loves a good strike! I’ve participated in some of them.
Reason why all people not unionized is that companies will not allow it.
San Francisco is a great example. I don’t think any area was raking in property taxes like them. That place is a complete dumb. I would love for them to audit where all that money went.
Maybe, it's hard to say. I heard they have prop 13 in CA which means a lot of these boomers are sitting on 1.5+ million dollar homes and paying nearly the same taxes they were when they bought it for 300k or something years ago.
The City of San Francisco was buying really beautiful nice $5,000 a piece trash cans. I'm sure they pocket quite a bit of the tax money there. That's why they want to be on the Board of Supervisors in the first place. How many millions of dollars did Feinstein and Pelosi make for their decades of "sacrifice" and "service?"
