    These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

    These should be great on the Steam Deck. I tried using my AirPods Pro on the Steam Deck and that works for most games. But forget about using them for rythym games.
    Update: Got them in today. Works great on the Deck with the 2.4ghz adapter. The Deck also still fits in the included carrying case with the adapter plugged in which is convenient.

    • @BloodshedRomance
      @BloodshedRomance 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the worry on the steam deck is the adapter would block the charging port unless you use a breakout dongle. depends on how "low latency" the bluetooth really is.

    • @akarins
      @akarins 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lowest latency is by the dongle I believe, so you’ll trade off by blocking the only USB-C port on the steam deck unless you have a small multi-port dock

    • @silversonic360
      @silversonic360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BloodshedRomance I would imagine the Bluetooth latency would be just as bad as the AirPods Pro. That’s the main reason I wanted these. Bluetooth is fine for most games but forget about relying on strict audio cues. Luckily the latency on the 2.4ghz adapter is extremely low.

    This is exactly what I was looking for on my gaming laptop! I use it at school and while working (when I have down time) i really like that it's discreet and 2.4ghz. I have the pixel earbuds which are great with my phone on Bluetooth but when it comes to connecting with my laptop the quality is not the same and it gets tricky with windows audio devices, and it's always been like that with any Bluetooth device.
    I love that it's basically an earbud style stereo headset with a dedicated dongle.

    I am not surprise when hyperx not allow simultaneously connection 2,4ghz + bluetooth because it will drain battery very fast even on over ear headset with large battery. Maybe they should come with neckband design with separate battery for longer play time and help shrink down the earbuds size

    Great video. Do you have a suggestion for gaming earbuds, which can play sound from Bluetooth device and 2.4 ghz dongle, at the same time?

  • @KduCRib
    @KduCRib 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I bought one and I wish I hadn`t. The audio is great while mic is not somehow activated. I was listening to music and everything was great. Then I joined a discord (also tested on Teamspeak 3) call while it was playing and when any communication software use the microfone connection the sound loses quality and all the bass. Horrible to play anything this way. I tested in 2 different notebooks and in my Iphone and the result is always the same. A friend of mine also bought this and the same thing happens to him. Don`t buy if your intention is gaming with your friends. For solo play or listening to music it is not bat at all.

    Gawd I hope this is a branch to the gaming audio market and not where it is headed in general, I’ve always had a love hate relationship with in ear headphones, their great for activities and parkour and such, but boy do they cause some major discomfort over even a brief period. These seem like they’d be really cool for someone who needs sound on the go but that doesn’t people to know they have sound on them, and the fact the can just be thrown in a pocket is a plus, point off for the case not having s port for the wifi dongle so it’s truly a mobile gaming headset.
    Again awesome if this is a diversification of the market, upsetting if it’s foreshadowing where the market is headed.

      @@-XTC- HyperX's seems to have slightly better battery life, lasting 2 hours longer in both BT and 2.4ghz mode. JBL's has some nice features such as switching to bluetooth seamlessly to answer calls and ANC.

    • @TienTran-uq6to
      @TienTran-uq6to 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well i read the jbl quantum tws manual and look like the battery life is not good in the 2.4ghz connection its about 4hrs with ANC off or 3.5hrs with ANC on. The earbud also support fast charging 15m for 3hrs (they said 3hrs music playtime so i dont know how long you have with 2.4ghz). The good thing to me is you can stored the usb transmitter inside the charging case but they dont provide usb C to A converter you had to buy it separately

      @@TienTran-uq6to yup, saw that too. But those numbers are mostly fake anyway, same like those frequency ranges and microphone sensitivity values - it needs to be reviewed first.... For me as an early/first adopter at this stage it comes down to: fitting comfort, style and unique features like ANC, Ambient Mode, Dual Source, Bluetooth profile (SBC), Case (slot for USB C), USB C Dongle, DTSX, Side Tone, permanent EQ without permanent bloadware etc. Based on these both have their advantages/disadvantages.

    • @descry1
      @descry1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The S-Play is different because it has 2 Bluetooth modes- normal and lower latency mode which degrades the signal to get better latency.
      The MIX Buds have both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless modes. If you game or watch movies, the performance with 2.4 GHz wireless band will outperform the S-Play by ~40% which is potentially a huge improvement if you're using these earbuds to game with

    they going to right direction with the gaming earbuds but the rubber thingy is the wrong move, it feels so uncomfortable to put it in your ears for sometime. Ultimately as a user. I want this but also to have an aux option for when I travel and ipx5 when I work out. Furthermore having the case double up as a portable battery pack for my other devices would be great.
    This would make it perfect for me to have an all in one option and don't have to carry multiple devices.
    This is the future I want with wireless earbuds.
