    Roger you are the coolest sailor on youtube. Under such conditions other sailors would worry and look to be on alert. You just go about as another normal day in the office. I bow to you sir!

    Inspiring! Some amazing shots of the sea at the 8.30sec mark.

    A safe, dry and cozy boat. in an arctic gale. Junk rigs are absolutely brilliant with that one-handed reefing. No fuss, no stress, no drama. Just taking care of business . Super clever solo design evolution.

    Hove to or heave up! The British Coast and Viking crossings define our Seamanship! And of course this expedition is clearly no exception Roger! and Out

    at what point do you put the drouge/sea anchor out please? (what height of waves?) (what wind speed?)
    thank you Robert!

      Hard to define exactly. You just know when the time is right ie when the risk of knockdown or capsize is palpable. Generally a prolonged Force 9+, but I have never has to use it with Mingming II.

    Roger, when you are making way but needing to rest, do you have a way to identify nearby ships, like an AIS? Or do you just heave to? I imagine your aluminum mast is a good reflector for radar on the other boats.

    How is the bilge keel during the storms? Is a benefit or a negative?

    • @junkming
      @junkming  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The bilge keels make for an easier motion - less of a pendulum effect.

    How does Mingling ll compare to Mingling l in rough seas? Great video thsnks

    • @junkming
      @junkming  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very similar - Mingming Ii was chosen because of her hull form similarities with Mingming. Mingming II is slightly stiffer, as she has a central keel.

      @@junkming thank you for responding. I would like to know more about what you ate and how you managed your water. Is there a place where I can read about this or is there a video. Thank you for your help. What a great adventure
