    I´m concerned about the shower, that flooding was only in your room or it´s a common problem in queens road? is it because the shower is too small or because the water doesn´t drain well

      I hope you like it here! I would say just don’t put your shower all the way up and have it pointed more towards the wall slightly

    Hiya! Very strange question, but is it possible to change the curtains as long as you put the original ones back up when you move out? I’m autistic and having really dark ones stresses me out quite a bit!!

      I’m honestly not sure I don’t think it is but you could probably ask housing, as you have a disability they should be accommodating, I hope they can help you p! ☺️

    Danni, could a student in Queens accommodation have catered meals?
    I’m thinking of going to Winchester but I’m terrible at cooking…
    Also, how far away is Queens from the food hall?
    And, if you know this, where do the Creative Writing students get taught? I don’t want to risk my accommodation being far away from where I’ll be taught.

      I'm gonna be studying here too, idk if you have the answer yet, but there are catered packages which you are able to get!!

    Overall which would you say is best out of all 3 accommodation? And how long would it take to walk from Burma or queens to business school/west downs?

    • @dannikirsten3848
      @dannikirsten3848  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My personal favourite was Queens because it felt like the biggest and the desk was nice and long so it was good for studying. It would take under 10 minutes to get up there but the hill hurts so be prepared for that aha

    What made you change accommodation? Or did they make u or what? Do u think it’s worse or better than burma?

    • @dannikirsten3848
      @dannikirsten3848  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I moved for the new academic year, they can’t usually keep you in the same place. I only get to stay in halls for mor than one year of my studies because I’m a care leaver.

      Frankie Rose if u dont mind answering a couple more questions i’d love to hear your thoughts on the shared facilities like kitchens and stuff. And specifically like how does it work when multiple people want to be making their food at the same time, do you wait in turn or do people cook for eachother or what. And also how does the fridge system work? Is it based on trust that no one will nick your stuff or what. Sorry to ask so many questions but im an expert procrastinator 😂 any answers greatly appreciated. I recently made a spur of the moment decision to go to uni, specifically winchester, and im desperately trying to get my shit in order so i can get accommodation and sign up for the September course.... a bit lost though tbh haha

      Lewis Lewis happy to help! It is all based on trust I’m afraid. No one ever stole my food and I haven’t really heard anyone say anything about their food going missing. You usually have one shelf in the fridge and one in the freezer. In some accommodation your cupboard will have a lock. As for cooking people usually cook at different times (people have different eating schedules that are normal to them so a lot of the time there isn’t a clash) but if you are planning on cooking at the same time another person it is it can be difficult but everyone’s usually pretty chill about it all.

    Which accommodation would you say is more quiet than the others?

    • @dannikirsten3848
      @dannikirsten3848  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of the on campus accommodations are pretty loud to be honest. It’s mostly on Wednesdays when we have bop because people host pres but if you on your application for halls they have two options and if you choose the quieter one you should be house with people who aren’t likely to host pres. Burma and West Downs tend to be the lousiest I think but you can hear a lot on queens too. The windows and walls do often drown out a fair bit of noise though. I hope this helps

    • @dannikirsten3848
      @dannikirsten3848  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No unfortunately not, they do checks on peoples rooms each semester

    • @GM-zv1ry
      @GM-zv1ry 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frankie Rose could you tell us more about these routine checks? are they random?

    • @dannikirsten3848
      @dannikirsten3848  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      G M so we usually have them once per semester and it’s just to make sure you’re looking after your space basically. We also have maintenance come in to do stuff to the showers every so often and at the beginning of the academic year we have people come in to check that all of our electronics are safe
