If you ever get the chance to go to a Muse show, beg borrow or steal a ticket, they really are the best live show on the planet.
I had tickets to go last year, but a family member ended up dying, and the funeral was the same day as the concert. It sucked, but you gotta have your priorities straight.
this was true until 15 years ago
@@Neorigg
Kreator, Testament, Dream Theater, Babymetal, Sum 41, One Ok Rock, Coldplay (and some big local & regional bands) all had live show in my country for year 2023-2024.
Guess what?
Muse beats them all for the best concert. Not one from the pop, rock or even metal scene can challenge them. 😂
@@Neorigg This was true last summer
Correct! Ive been to well over 300 rock shows…NONE better live than MUSE!
Don't try to make sense of this song. They were high on shrooms when they wrote it and to this day they still don't know what it's about.
Hahahaha
Matt was talking about his guitar. That's his "plug in baby" to get away from the day to day frustrations
Probably the greatest live band in the world
Correct!!
along with radiohead, i believe both of them are greatest band when it comes to live performance. muse has a great atmosphere in live performance, while radiohead has a great show in terms of how they play their music live in stage
NOT probably BUT definitely :)

@@Literallyjustmint RAMMSTEIN
Plug in baby refers to the front man's guitar. Music is where he turns to when he's "tired of living." Music and his guitar are his way of coping with life.
Cool story. But it's literally named after a plug in air freshener 🤣🤣🤣
I agree figuratively - almost like his guitar is like a women or partner to turn to in times of trouble. Like you say he turns to his guitar. The riff is based off a classical piece inspired by Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor
@@wrobles1968 Matt loves classical influences. He also plays part of "Moonlight Sonata" in one of their more ambitious pieces.
It cannot be understated how good Muse is live.
They quite literally sound better than their records when they're on stage.
It's baffling. I don't think any band since Queen has been able to capture that stage presence better.
Plug in ....means pluging in his guitar...that's his baby
The lyrics of that entire album are meaningless from a songwriting perspective, it was just little phrases and words thayt sounded good to him. People have all sorts of intepretations on the lyrics but ultimately they were written as pretty much gibberish. I believe there was a baby mopnintor in a catalog called a 'plug in baby' and the name made them laugh so they used it in the song.
His plug in baby is his guitar
The title refers to a plug in baby monitor from a British high street store called Argos
"Crucifies my enimies"hardly applies to a baby monitor!
@@deancooper7952 that is where they came up with the lyric and name of the song though. They said themselves. The meaning of plug in baby in context is probably his guitar.
❤ I love Muse, seen them a few months ago, plug in baby is one of my fav's 🖤 they are amazing live!!!! 🎸🖤
If you want audience participation, I recommend Muse playing Muscle Museum live at Shepherds Bush Empire in 2017. The words Muscle Museum are the words either side of Muse in the dictionary. I have seen them live 4 times over the years , always awesome, always a different experience. To experience a wider range, Citizen Erased or Butterflies and Hurricanes which incorporate Matt's piano skills which are considerable.
The ladies of The Warning are learning amazing skills opening for this band. Check out the Knights of Cedonia live from the same venue.
Nobody knows exactly what is going on with these lyrics, not even the band members, because every time they're asked about the meaning of this song, they seem to give a different answer, or try to avoid the question. However, I think one of the biggest clues to the meaning of the lyrics comes from an early demo of this song from 1997 (official version was released in 2001), where the lyrics were dramatically different, and went something like this:
_When I was poor and lonely_
_They give me to the floor_
_You're the only_
_I was tired of resting_
_But I'm not even afraid_
_'Cause you're the only_
_God is in me_
_and I'm in virtual reality_
_I'm tired of living_
_They come anywhere here_
_Anywhere in my head_
_'Cause I'm tired of thinking_
_I never meant to love these machines_
_But they obey my commands adeptly_
_I will never ever die_
_In their circuits I can survive_
_Can you hear me?_
_Cause I am leaving_
_Electric love screens_
_Have tempted me to jack it in_
_Living lively_
_They come anywhere here_
_Anywhere in my head_
_I'm tired of thinking_
_I never meant to love these machines_
_But they obey my commands adeptly_
_I will never ever die_
_In their circuits I can survive_
_Can you hear me_
_Cause I am leaving_
With these lyrics, and considering the themes found in other old Muse songs, it seems very likely that the song was originally meant to be about virtual reality, and technology in general, and how it might affect humanity in the future, so you were not far off with the Matrix vibes. I personally have the theory that the lyrics were later changed to make it sound more like a love song, so it would be more popular with the masses (and it did become a huge hit).
Also, a fun fact is that the name "Plug in Baby" was actually the name of a baby monitor they saw on a catalogue, they just thought it sounded cool and decided to use it for the song, lol.
Don't go down the Muse rabbit hole expecting the lyrics to make sense 😂 they're more so there to add to the melody. Matt even goes as far as to vocalise a whole guitar solo rather than using a guitar. But they are amazing live, no one like them!
Muse are a brilliant band. Somehow underrated for someone so big
Audience participation huh, check out ‘muscle museum live Shepherd’s Bush empire 2017 multicam’ you’re welcome
Especially as the song is in English and the crowd is Italian, singing along as if they understand every word.
I’ve seen muse 15 times. They are the are amazing live!
Muse are absolutely brilliant !!!!!
*Music* = MUSE + Sick 😎👍
listen to Assassin Live at Mayan 2015 next, you will love it
I first saw Muse in a tiny club (The Cavern) in Exeter, UK not far from their home town. This was well before they were famous. I thought they were a poor wannabe Radiohead at the time. Wasn't impressed. ....and that ladies and gentlemen is why I never worked as a talent spotter!
In my mid 50's now and they are one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Not so keen on their last few albums but still an unmissable show whenever they are touring.
Muse is going to be happy :)
Hahahahahaha
Even if you just like a bit of muse or are at the stage of starting to like muse .. when they are remotely close to you please go to see them live ... They are flawless musically, incredible performers and the best stage preduction I've ever seen .. it will not disappoint
I love this performance. And speaking of Muse, since you've reacted to these ladies quite a bit - check out "Automatic Sun" just released by The Warning. Heavy Muse influence.
Welcome to Muse fans team
For something completely new (and also JUST as exciting), check out the truly phenomenal Scottish alt-rock band Biffy Clyro. You will not be disappointed!
Muse-Suggestions 🙂 *Hysteria Live Wembley *Uprising Live Teignmouth
His plug in baby is his guitar. He's given up on a toxic relationship and now he's all his guitar. That's how I read it.
Well, you picked their break out song and most classic video ever…but you gotta see em live, bonus to see them in England…you’ll never get over it!
You should check out Knights Of Cydonia by Muse you could check out the live version from this Rome concert or a version I like personally is form Glastonbury 2010
Sunburn Muse live Glastonbury 2004, amazing stuff
You are definitely allowed to pause in the middle. It’s a reaction! I hate no-analysis vids where I'm just watching somebody watching. And hey, the original is out there, folks!
Reaction to Kiss - I Was Made for Loving You
Hi All MUSER's!!! Great Reaction!
This song has to be reacted to while being high in volume. And also, +1 to everyone saying this is one of the best live bands out there. Been to 2 of their concerts a decade apart and they brought the energy both times. Matt becomes a different person live.
It's a song about a guitar.
You must go and see them live. They are probably the best live band on the circuit. The album stuff is brilliant, but the live stuff is 1000% better. People seem to forget they’re a three piece (mainly), but when live the fourth member comes in for the keyboard/synth stuff.
Muse rules!
Hi Koality,
What a coincidence. After your last video of comfortably numb, I told you about how much this song is admired by Dany from The Warning and today you react to Muse! This band is The Warning's favourite band and last year The Warning opened for them in Mexico. Matt Bellamy from Muse was so impressed by The Warning that he invited the girls to open for them in the UK. One of the sisters' proudest moments.
Matt from Muse was so impressed again he gifted Dany a yellow Manson guitar.
Check out Automatic sun by The Warning that was released on Friday just gone. It has some Muse influences. Thanks Koality. 🤟
The song is about his guitar... The plug in baby. Great Video btw!
Riffs on Bach’s tocatta
Audience participation, to me, is Love. MUSE is very interactive with their audience. They are very giving in the writing and more so when live. The audience singing part is an opportunity to express our thank you. Ugh, I sound like i’m in a cult. 😂
hello,Muse fan from more than 20 years now.
I've seen them live 15 times.
Their shows now have become more than a rock concert.
It's an absolute spectacle.
The feeling to sing one of your favorite song along with 70k people i think it's unbeatable.
If you love crowd sing-a-long, check out their video of Starlight from 2010 (in San Siro, Milan, Italy)
I was there. It's one of my favorite memories i have.
PS i have my my first The Warning gig in 4 days.. i just can't wait.
JUST plug in Baby and un-plug when you need to, Darlin...or is it Koality, hmmm...I like Baby, baby....Muse concert in `13 was dynamic as that large quasi hotel on stage looks, which blew us all away, arrivederci Baby
This is one of the bands people I know closely like and no matter how many times I've tried to like them it just doesn't happen. Their music doesn't connect correctly with me. But I enjoyed your reaction.
Thanks Rafa! 🤍 And to each their own. Music is definitely a personal thing so it makes sense it varies so widely between people!
If you like audience participation you really must react to Killers doing Mr Brightside at the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow
do more muse!! especially from this concert :) you pick the song, every one is good
I love the song and especially this live but no idea what it means and I always thought it was “virtual realities” but need to check multiple lyrics sites now as I may have been mistaken all this time. EDIT:I HAVE been singing it wrong all these years LOL
LOL I love that.
Go see them live. I have 3 times. Take my word u won't be disappointed. Best shows I've ever been to. Go watch them on their own tour, not at a festival. The production that goes into their show are second to none
Maybe they're talking about realities because they ate shrooms. Supposedly that was part of the inspiration for Origin of Symmetry
I’ve seen them live .. one of my all time favorite concerts ever .. I’ve been to many and their energy and production is hardly matched .. also, Plug In Baby for the first song? Not my first choice .. would highly recommend Uprising or Supermassive Black Hole
I’ve heard Supermassive Black Hole! But Uprising - noted!
Not much substance to this reaction...'i like it it's gud'...😂
Not much substance to this reaction...'i like it it's gud'...😂
Not much substance to this reaction...'i like it it's gud'...😂
I imagine a plug in baby. Maybe like an artificial intelligence kinda robotic thing? Superficialality? The title always got me.
Stopping your videos to react/comment on what you have watched thus far is fine.
Stopping your videos to spend time explaining why you have stopped the video is not.
Cheers love this band don't know if you've done standing in the way of control by the gossip but it's class up 2 u thanx
Oh no I didn't need a deep dive into my own psychology at the end but thanks for reacting to Muse.
Want to see the best band on the planet live in action? Here's a sample to whet the appetite! th-cam.com/video/U5HAEzEk8QM/w-d-xo.html
I've seen them 6 times live in Lisbon and they are the best!
Matt had a son with Kate Hudson btw. Fucking rock star.
If I watch a reaction video, I WANT stops. Because I already know what I think, and if I just want to hear the song, then I'll just play it in the original. So, you stop anytime you want in your reactions. That's why we come here.
@@rmalonephoto You are THE BEST. Ahahaha Thank you for this comment. 🤍
It’s plug in baby not plug in, baby
Ive always thought, plug in baby meant his guitar
My take of the song is, A lover has done something harmful to the relationship and the "plug in baby" is his guitar which he uses to forget and get lost in.
If you like audience participation, I believe there is no more moving performance than in Lara Fabian - Je t'aime - Live in Paris, 2001
Watch with subtitles please!
Lara Fabian - Je t'aime - Live in Paris, 2001
I'm loving your reactions!
The original demo version of Plug In Baby was recorded before the matrix but the studio version was recorded after it. In the demo it goes "God is in me and I'm in virtual reality I'm tired of living"
I seen muse 9 times and there is no describing the sound and vibration of 100,000 people singing along.
My favourite Muse track, the fifth track of the album Origin of symmetry. My interpretation of it is that it’s about the reliance upon technology and the things that it can suppress in your life. Perhaps it implies a longing for a meaningful connection and the desire to escape the alienation that technological advancements can sometimes bring.
You definitely picked a great performance, couldn’t have picked a better one myself! From the same concert and album their cover of Nina Simone’s Feeling good is a great follow up, Matt puts his own spin on it and makes it spectacular!
You can probably understand why a certain other trio have idolised them for so long and were so excited to be able to tour with them!
I enjoyed your emotional reactions to the song, I am the same myself about Muse!
Thanks Darrell. 🤍 Almost forgot they toured with Muse! What a show tour that would’ve been!!
@@KoalityReactions it was, I saw them when they came to the uk last year and will see them this year later this month!
So your favorite Muse Tracks isso new born right?
@@GuilhermeSantos-gf7wg oops my bad 5th!
Went to watch muse last year for my 4th show they one of last stadium bands going for a three piece Matt Chris and Dominic rule would definitely see them more and more again
Muse are amazing live. Matt Bellamy is one of the few remaining actual rock stars. Insanely talented.
saw them live last june and they were amazing!
I'm pretty sure they still hold the record for destroying the most instruments on stage. They stopped a while ago when they started to get their kit custom made, but I still remember them doing it on a live kids tv show. They'd obviously been booked by somebody who hadn't seen them. Those kids are probably still in therapy 😂
I saw them live at The Eden Project years ago, and got right to the front. Completely deaf for 2 days after. Totally worth it.
Yeah the record is for destroying 140 guitars in a single tour 🤯 Matt was crazy back then 😂
Ah, such a fun song. Glad it got through and made it public!
To me, it's always been a lovehate song between him or the band and the music industry. The "plug in baby" would be the guitar.
Or, as always, it's a breakup song
It’s definitely possible it will be blocked soon! But for now it’s up. 🤞🏼
Ooh I like that interpretation and it would definitely make sense.
Best live band EVER, been to six or seven and with each one the guys go just get better and better….if that’s even possible 🎸
Ah no.
butterflies and hurricanes, wont stand down.
also if you can stand it. im sure i speak for many folks, grt rid of the clown paint. it is only removing from. your natural self, this we cherish. be you, be safe, look forward to the next muse review
