@@CBRadiouk1 you'd have to explain mate, thats if you can be bothered, I wouldn't want to turn nothing down within the cb, but I wouldn't be running it on full power anyway.
Excellent video and I believe your meter. Over here is the U.S theirs people that have up to 5 even 20,000 watts illegal burners! To me the question is why? I talk skip alot and even 40 watts is great! My system is 40 pluse years old and I dead key 180 watts and it swings when I whistle to 260 RMS. PEP is a little over 400. Yet myself I do as you and look at the RMS, because it's the carrier. God Speed!! Psychological. I love your videos.
Hi Adonikam Anyone who has been on for a lot of years, will have stories of very low power contacts. If the skip is not there it will not happen, it really is that simple. Power helps of course but, is not the be all/end all. Thanks for the comment fella.
Did you try the FT-450 with the internal tuner out of line? It can affect the power readings and if the input tune on the amp is okay, then it's not needed.
Have not seen them around hear. I have had the RM italy amps .I have KL 203P and base tube amp KVB 1000 i think. has 4 EL509 tubes 240V works great .wonder if that is a biased amp .much cleaner on SSB .
Thanks for the informative video. Even though the zetagi pushes out less than advertised it will still out perform those RM kl 203 amps. The build quality of the zetagi means it will be around long after the RM amps have been thrown away.
I can find on ebay to buy this linear ?? I want to use the RCI69VHP ranger, I wanted your opinion, because I'm in doubt between this linear or RM 400 ITALY ?? 73
Hi I have used both and like both. If I had to buy another amp, of this size, it could be either. In short both are good, the choice has to be yours. What ever u get under drive and put a fan on them. Let me know what you go for ok fella.
Some of the RM Italy amps have low pass filters in them and would be legal to use on the ham bands. This amp has no low pass filter in it's output stage so it would not be legal to use on the ham bands, and you'd make lots of enemies with the dirty nasty signal this generates on the ham bands. On CB nobody cares about a clean transmitter, on the ham bands they do.
I had one Steve. It put out 135w on fm with 5w in from my yaesu 450D also.. SSB around 195w with around 6w. Then one day I plugged my Lincoln 2+ in forgot I had power up as I was used to the power always been set easily with the 450D.. Anyway I ran around 27w in and the place started smelling of mosfet marzepan.... Thanks for sharing bud

Hi JMD no distortion in my experience, is u used a power mike full up u may pick up some rf. Things to do if u get distortion is check drive power, (over driving)look for voltage drop at the power supply. Check for high swr, at higher levels the Coax may start radiating more (rf in the shack syndrome) Backing off mike gain may also help, as does good station earthing. The list goes on. A good radio with good antenna practice and you should be good to go fella.
