  • Spain has many surprises! Just 15 minutes north of Valencia, Spain is the city of Port Saplaya. This little city is called the Little Venice of Spain! With beaches, canals, boats, restaurants and bars, it is a beautiful little city in Spain to visit.
    In this episode we eat a giant spider crab salad, eat a Spanish version of a crepe and visit a tiki bar right on a Spanish beach. If your eyes are prone to being blinded by an extremely pale human this video could do some serious damage!
    So come along with us and visit this little city here in Valencia, Spain!

    A Couple of Nomads?
    Who are we?
    Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, a farm boy, born and raised in Ohio.
    We are a little crazy, we left our family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic (Who does that?). We decided to that we should also start a TH-cam channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! If you want to see how a couple of expats can live the Mediterranean dream, and you want to join us on our journey...then subscribe, we would love to have you as part of our extended family!
    With love & gratitude,
    Josh & Vicky

    Looks like fun! Red busses are city busses while yellow ones are from the Communitat. Recently, Valencia offered "SUMA" cards which work equally on red buses, yellow busses, a metro stops (but the airport), and some closer cercania stops. Once you get in the system, any other transfer is free for 90 minutes. I'm not a beach person (Canadians can actually catch fire in 35C+ weather!), but we'll try to check it out. ¡Disfruten!

    Thanks for the great information, had never heard of Port Saplaya before. My wife and I will be visiting Spain in September, first time there! This channel has been a great resource for planning for that trip. We will be staying in Valencia and then Barcelona. Any thoughts on what areas to stay in?

    • @ACoupleofNomads
      @ACoupleofNomads  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David, welcome to Valencia! We’re so glad that our channel was helpful! In terms of where to stay, we would recommend either City center (or old town) or Ruzafa area. Depending on your preference. Ruzafa is pretty young & hip area, lots of cool restaurants and bars, many expats live there. Old town is clearly touristy but it’s beautiful, and you will be close to Central Market, Cathedral, etc. Ruzafa is about 20-30 mins walking distance from old town. If you want to be close to the beach, El Cabanyal is not bad but you will be further from the city center. Really depending on your preference. Hope that helps 😊 Thank you for watching our videos.

      @JARDANI J0VAN0VICH Wow this is great advice and recommendations, thank you! Unfortunately La Mozaira is not available during our stay, but I can see why it would be a favorite. I will look into the other two options and other suggestions. Thank you!

    • @theclash4u5
      @theclash4u5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ACoupleofNomads Wow, thank you! Ruzafa sounds like it would be more of our style, since it would be nice to be outside Old Town, but still close enough to walk to. This has been very helpful and we are very excited for our trip :)

    If you return to Valencia, to move around the city and go to the beaches, it is best to move by bicycle or scooter, with a basket behind for your little dog, and you can go to the beaches exercising and enjoying the city and saving money. greetings and good luck here

    Hello from NYC, we are heading to Valencia in mid August and just added this town/beach to our list so thank you! Question: is this video from today July 21? I know things can change overnight with covid cases but was wondering if there are any new restrictions that you are aware of in the Valencia region? Thank you!

    • @caballoloco100
      @caballoloco100 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, the number of covid cases has jumped from 100 just a couple of weeks ago to 600:100000 so six fold. The regional government may implement new restrictions and possibly a night curfew after 22h00 but a new lockdown is highly unlikely as 50% of the population is already vaccinated. The problem is that the younger population are not vaccinated yet and are spreading the virus when they socialise in the evening😵🙄🤔
      Valencia is far safer than Madrid or Barcelona (Barna) due to the density of population in the capital and Barna is higher, so the risk of getting covid is higher too. If you guys follow the recommended rules like wearing the mask at all times, washing your hands regularly, etc. you''ll be fine. Music concerts have been cancelled to avoid the spread of the disease. Avoid places packed with people and maintain social distancing.
      By the way, there are alcohol gel bottles in the subway (Metrovalencia) that can be used for free.

      Hi! Thank you for watching our video😁 This was recorded just days ago in July 2021. Yes, things can change quickly, but our vaccinations here are moving quickly. We are on pace to be 70% vaccinated by September here in Valencia. Most cases are from the 20-29 year old age group…which we started vaccinating this week. Thank you for your support ❤️
