How long does the color last for after washing it
Since the fabric has not been dyed synthetically, the color will fade in time. However, there are several steps you can take to minimize this. Natural dyes are more likely to fade from using detergents, so hand wash them if possible. This will ensure that the color lasts longer. If you have to wash your fabric in a washing machine, use a non-bleach based detergent and set the machine to a cold wash setting.
Thank you for this tutorial! I got a pair of off-white linen pants at the thrift store, and I think dying them this lovely brown color would make it so I could wear them camping without worrying about them looking dirty all the time. Thank you!!!
That will look amazing and you will have fun dyeing it for sure♥️Thank you for watching!

Hi thanks for this amazing video. I have just one doubt, after rinsing and hand washing it do we have to rinse it again with water to clean off the detergent? Also, can we machine wash it like other clothes?
Yes! Rinse it with water after using detergent. And yes you can machine wash.
Hey! Very much fascinating! Do u think it works on stockings/panty hose?

Please help.. I want to dye my salwar or pajam, which is Off white color itself. I want to make it brown just like yours. The material is Butterfly. Is it possible?
hii i loved the video, i just have a question, i wanted to dye a cotton t-shirt a very pale beige just to tone down the white but it came out with little brown spots all over the shirt, would you happen to know what i might have done wrong?
Hey! Patches or spots mostly happen when we don’t pre wash the fabric. Pre washing fabric or clothes will remove impurities or oil present in it. Also, always immerse your fabric in the dye bath when it’s wet. This will ensure it dyes evenly. ✨
@@BrownGirlDIYs thank you so much
I'd boiled up loose tea leaves and added my fabric, prior to watching this video, and got splotchy results ... maybe part of your issue to? 🙄 😁
Nice video, very nicely explained, what if we add a little bit of haldi powder, how will the colour turn out, i want to try it
Hey! Thank you. I think it will give orangish brown color
@@BrownGirlDIYs here in this video you dye a small piece of cloths, but dyeing a full shirt or pants is not very easy. Please make a video on how to dye a full white shirt, kurta or pant.
Can we use it with bright Yellow fabric
Yes!
My cotton shirt which is brown in colour accidently stained by bleach has big large white spots now...I am very sad can I die it with tea?what about the white stains will it dye equally brown?
Yes! dye it with tea
Can I do it with coffee powder
Yes! Follow the same method
Can I dye tee shirts using this method?
Yes! Absolutely
Yes vinegar or salt
Can we dye net fabric ??
It will depend on the fibre content of the net you purchased. If the net fabric is made of cotton/silk fibres then you can dye using this method. If it’s polyester net fabric then it won’t accept the dye.
Can I use rubber. Bands??
Hey, I would suggest you not to use rubber bands as it can snap or break when immersed into the hot dye bath.
Can i dye in net fabric??
Hey! I haven’t tried it on net fabric. Please try dyeing a swatch before dyeing the whole fabric
can we save the rest of the dye bath and use it later?
Yes! you can store it in a refrigerator and use it later.
Thank you for this video. Your instructions are so complete that I don't really need to watch any other video because you provided fa logical and easy to follow sequence. Excellent job! of presenting content for learners!!!!🤎🌿🧵🪡
Thank you so much! Soo happy to hear that♥️
is there a way to get very uniform color?
Wet the fabric thoroughly and then immerse it in the dye bath.
No rinse after the wash?
Rinse after washing with soap/detergent
Will this method work on coloured fabric?
Which color is the fabric? This will work on light coloured natural fabrics
@@BrownGirlDIYswill this work on georgette light pink?
@@hedayetulislam1743 No it won’t work on georgette fabric
@@BrownGirlDIYs ok thanks
How long did you let it sit in the tea for it to get that shade?
Overnight
is it necessary to use vinegar?
Yes! Vinegar helps the dye to bond well with the fabric
@@BrownGirlDIYs is there any other Alternative for vinegar
@@akully178 you can use Lemon juice instead of vinegar. Both works great. Lemon juice is slightly less acidic than vinegar. So use double the amount of vinegar required.
How many days this dyeing life

The dye became light after it dried out
Use good quality tea and also use good amount of tea while dyeing. More the tea darker will be the color.
