Bravo! Very nice video :) What do you think about the difference in the vinyasa count by the different teachers. There is a difference in the vinyasas of baddha konasana b (some count it 8, others 9), upavishta konasana b (9/10), urdhva padmasana (8/9), pindasana (8/9) matsyasana (8/9), uttana padasana (8/9), sirsasana sequence (some count it to balasana form 8 to 10, other just count all the sequence as 8), padmasana (8/10) and utpluthih (9/10/11). I have compared the vinyasa count of Pattabhi Jois (there is also difference in his book yoga mala and his video), Lino Miele, John Scot, Petri Raisenen, Gregor Maehle, Kino Macgregor, Sharath Jois and David Robson. The count of the vinyasas should start from samasthitih but the conteporary way to enter the poses differ from full vinyasa and then somehting happens. The old students like Lino Miele, John Scott and also Petri count the lesser number following the full vinyasa logic and the way Yoga Mala describe the vinyasas, and all they sound correct but the new students including Sharath count the greater number which sounds better when you don't do the full vinyasa. The practice is definitely evolving comparing the old sequnce of poses and the new one, so is the vinyasa counting. What do you think about it? There is also a difference of the drsti but this is other theme :) Greetings!
Hi El, if you go to study from other Ashtánga shálás, or from the source, the Krishnamácárya Yoga Mandiram, you will find yourself in the world of endless variations of vinyásas and counting adjusted to the actual needs of the practitioner. There is no fault or mistake, just a broader view.
Thank you ❤
