Shrines of Italy: Basilica of Saint John Lateran

The highest-ranking of the 4 major papal basilicas in Rome, the Basilica of Saint John Lateran has a long and storied history. It also serves as the location for the famous "Holy Stairs" ascended by Christ during his trial with Pontius Pilate. What perhaps fewer know is just how many ancient relics and tombs are contained within this "Mother of all Roman Churches!"

I was there in the last week of April 2024. Visited St. John Lateran Basilica, celebrated a Holy Mass inside the Basilica and lastly, climbed on my knees the Holy Stairs outside the Basilica. Thanks for sharing this.
