    Matt you out did yourself here. When the music softly started I felt so drawn into the video like I was floating looking around the tranquil coast. I love very much getting to glimpse into your window, to see what you see in your life. Beauty beyond words. Thank you for the relaxed, peaceful feeling your video left me with. If I were planning a funeral, I would play this as farewell. It would be perfect. Dear Matt, said as no insult toward you, but this was awesome!

    Everyone is different I guess but I LOVE THE DRONE FOOTAGE!! PLEASE DON'T STOP including them!! My favorite part of your videos is always when you Guys get excited When the catch is going well!! The one video from last year " Perseverance pays off" I think it was called I have watched probably 20 times or more. Just because you guys are having such a crazy fun time being overwhelmed with a great catch. It makes me feel good every time I watch it. :) But I also love the beautiful scenery... The family closeness and team family! .. The infrastructure explanations of how fisheries work, what its like and challenges living in such a unique place, and of course the rebuild! I think what makes this a great channel is all of that! The whole story!! :)

    Nice finishing touch with your drone work Matt! Very scenic area to quietly enjoy. Some fine looking fish on that first haul too. Good to hear the weather is so mild up in your neck of the woods. Down in these parts, as this sun is rising, with lots of hoar frost freshened again overnight last, -2 is the current temperature. Hope your waters remain calm as you fish into the winter season! -Bob...

    hello guys, I follow you from Brazil, and I admire the simple and practical way that you do your fishing and the renovation of the bigger boat, very explanatory how you do everything, despite not speaking English, I can understand everything you are doing, a big hug from a Brazilian friend of yours.

    Has there always been a lot of doggies? I know of the Southern UK when there is not much left there are almost always doggies- mostly Lesser Dogfish but some Spiny. I know off New England when there is not much of anything else left there is a load of Spiny Dogfish. So if you’re getting more Spinies then it might be an indication of less everything else, or, like the Snow and King Crab they might have all gone north. Tuna are moving back into British waters, even the North Sea. I’m not sure if Halibut are moving out of Scottish waters, but cod have been moving out of New England waters. One tiny glimmer for some- Striped Bass won’t move so far south in the winter, stay longer in the fall, but will go deeper in the height of summer before coming back to the beaches once out-of-staters have gone home.

    Another great video, spectacular scenery. What type of sharks are those, we have a green eyed shark similar size in qld that has a couple of poisonous barbs and they will spin around and jab you. There in the thousands at about 200 metres offshore.
    Also is it true they have cancelled the king and snow crab season in Alaska, will this effect you guys.

      @EISAlaska  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep spiny dogfish, they have a couple nasty barbs in front of their fins. The closing of Bristol Bay crab doesn’t effect us directly, but may have a bearing on price and effort during our January 2023 season.

    A point about Doing Dogfish or any dogfish, they tend to fill in gaps in biomass. You probably heard about the crash of the East Coast Cod fishery, caused by failure of Department of Fisheries and Oceans, to teach Cod how to survive politics? Well the missing biomass filled with dogfish and that was worrisome.
    Have you ever eaten dogfish? They are fussy but taste pretty good. As soon as you get one in you have to cut off the head and skin it because of the Uric Acid. Then soak them in salt water in the fridge overnight. My Dad would do this once in awhile. In fish and chips the dogfish was excellent! Finicky to prepare but good eating. Only eat them no larger than 24 inches as they are long lived and accumulated naturally occurring mercury. You are probably safe it just seems to be some areas.
