  • When we know how to explore our bow and learn what its properties are, the easier it is to understand how to use those properties in our playing. The bow through its design has the ability to bounce or sound as smooth as silk. Most violinists have difficulty controlling the bow because they don't really know what the bow can actually do as an instrument to be explored in its own right. Let's explore it together...Mary

Hola Mary! Mil gracias, querida Mary! Un abrazo enorme! 🤗💜🎶💜🎻

Hello Lola! Thank you very much. I'm glad you like the concept of treating the bow as an instrument...It's amazing how quickly we get locked into the same responses and actions when it comes to bowing, so it's great to break free by separating our actions from the bow, making it much clearer what is us and what is the bow.
These sensations can be developed enormously as the bow becomes an extension of our arm and our intentions.
It's lovely to hear your fondness for your first months studying violin. It's good sometimes to look back and then realise just how far we've come from those days!😊 I hope the summer sun in Madrid is behaving! ☀
Thank you very much dear Lola! Mary❤

I had a hard time finding a bow. All the music stores around my area, only have cheap bows that are extremely overpriced junk. I went on line and every one was sold out of Knoll, and other pernambuco bows. Coda bows are nice , but for the price you might as well go with a quality import wooden bow. It has been a real challenge! I’m hoping to go over your videos and start practicing. Your great!
    I ended up with a 2 star
