Is there a way to place a single instrument in multiple venues (or even multiple positions within a single venue) at the same time? I know I can do it from the DAW by sending the same source to multiple audio tracks, and routing each track to MIR. I’m wondering if it’s possible to do within MIR.

This can't be done within MIR, you will need to use one MIR plugin instance per venue for this. - Ben

I'm still confused on whether there is a workflow where I don't have to manually place all instruments? So I start with one instrument, say a trumpet. I attach Mir Pro 3d. I select a venue, but I cannot seem to attach the instrument to an EXISTING preset. I.e. I would like to use the Teldex Factory Preset (or even tried cloning that to a custom preset). I would like to do that in the Preset Management so Venue on top is that one. Then I would like for each instrument (only trumpet in this example), select the appropriate instrument from that preset and see the trumpet move to the appropriate position. is this not possible?

If you are using MIR Pro 3D inside Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 and you are using VI Pro or SYNCHRON-ized libraries MIR should automatically detect and assign the default roles. You can overwrite the default settings with your own if you like.
If you don't use VEP you can try to set the channel name identical to the role name (or vice versa). But this highly depends on your host and will definitly not work with VST2.

@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary Thanks, I own VEP but have not set it up yet so that could be a good option. It's time to re-configure my setup a bit I think :)
