      Thanks so much! I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think I was able to pull off the feel and look that I wanted to in the video. The caves can be so calming and otherworldly.

    Super cool caves. The music was perfect. I liked the drone shot to start as well. And a quarry! Seems like a full day

      Thanks so much! That's my goal with these videos, is to show the locations the best way I can. I also shoot mini documentaries on people all over for a client, and i would love to eventually incorporate that into these videos we're doing. I love helping tell peoples stories.

    Cave of the mounds is a place I wanted to see when I lived in Wisconsin but never got a chance to go. This video is the next best thing to being there in person! great footage! You even managed to get good representation of the caves in the super dark spaces. Almost feels like I'm there. I especially love the shots you got with the water reflecting the cave and water dripping. super cool!

      Thanks so much! We had found Cave of the Mounds a few years back on one of our random road trips. Pick a direction, drive for 5 hours. That's kind of our our thing. We saw a sign on one of the trips and checked it out. Glad we did! We've been there now a few times.
      And yeah, I shot this with the Sony a7sii, which is the best low light camera out there. So nice.
      And that shot of the cave reflection, that was actually pointed out to me by one of the cave experts that works there. She saw what I was filming, and told me I had to get this shot. I think it turned out great. She said it was her favorite view inside the cave. I even used it as the thumbnail.

    This place looks very nice. I like how you can go sifting for gemstones. Very cool.

      We didn't show it in this video, but in a previous visit we had purchased stones that you can crush yourself while there to find gems. It's really cool and our daughter loved doing it!

      Yeah that music track is incredible. One of the most time consuming parts to editing is finding music. I use Storyblocks and Envato for most of my music, and I can spend an entire day just listening to tracks and finding one that hits me how I want the end product to feel.

    The cave reminds me of some I've visited in Bermuda and Curacao. So interesting to see what nature creates - but like that they've added some modern safety measures to explore it. The peaceful music you chose really made this a calming experience to watch!

      It's easy when you have a location that is photogenic! We always love our time when we visit, and tell people all the time to check it out. Hopefully this video reaches people who've never been, and it inspires them to go. Thanks again!

    Awesome drone shots. I have to take a cave tour soon, there is one around 6 hrs drive from Banglore. This cave looks nice. Thanks for the tour.

      I was really happy they let me fly the drone there. I'm always cautious, and make sure I get permission. I have my pilots license, so I've been able to fly in some really cool places for clients. In mountains, deserts, along the ocean, and a lot of city flying here in Chicago. I'm always asking for permission first though, and make sure that anyone around me feels ok with me flying. It's still one of those things that people are nervous about. A lot of drone haters still. But I'll always ask anyone around me watching if they'd like to watch my controller screen while I'm up in the air, and that usually wins them over. Even people aren't fans of drones still think the footage is incredible.

    These caves look amazing to explore ! Reminds us of our Jenolan caves in NSW (Australia) -- Great work and a new sub here !!

      Thanks! Yeah we found this cave randomly by chance. We like to pick a direction and drive. We saw signs for this place on one of our road trips and it's become a place we like to go to now. There's a really cool place not to far away called House on the Rock. I made a video on that place too. It's incredible and super weird.
      I would love to make it to Australia one day. That's one thing we haven't been able to do is international travel. It's a bit tougher with a dog at home, but our daughter is old enough now to do longer travels and we might have to find a dog sitter. Thanks again and subbed back!

    The caves look absolutely stunning! I'm intrigued by the choice of a blue flashlight. Did it serve a specific purpose? Also, were there any bats residing in the caves? It appears to be an incredibly fascinating destination to explore!

    • @lesserknownadventures
      @lesserknownadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The flashlight is UV, and causes parts of the cave to interact with it. So it creates a glowing effect. It's really cool! And no, luckily there were no bats!

    I'm gonna have to visit this place. I love the panning shots. What an amazing cave system. What camera did you use while in the caves? This cavern system is massive. What an amazing place.

      Thanks! I shot this one with my Sony a7sii. That camera is incredible in low light. Normally I would shoot with a gimbal like the DJI Ronin RS2, but I liked the handheld feel that I was able to get. Also couldn't get around in there with anything like that. I film as part of my main gig, so I've gotten pretty comfortable handheld anyways.
      The drone shots are with the DJI Mavic 3 Cine. That thing is amazing.
      I just picked up a Sony FX3 last week. Can't wait to start shooting with that.

    Wow the caves look amazing! I'm curious - why use a blue flashlight? And were there any bats in the caves? Looks like an incredibly interesting place to visit!

    • @lesserknownadventures
      @lesserknownadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are amazing! The flashlight is UV, and makes parts of the cave glow. This is from their website -
      The ultraviolet light from the blacklights excites the electrons in the mineral calcite, the main mineral in all of our cave formations. When the “excited” electrons fall back to their natural state they give off energy in the form of light that we can see. This ability to absorb light and instantly release light back in a different wavelength (visible light) is a process called fluorescence.

    Absolutely beautiful! Caves can be kind of scary yet a fun adventure to explore. Was it easy finding your way through the cave? Was it a designated walking path the entire way through?

    • @lesserknownadventures
      @lesserknownadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      We love cave exploring when we find them out traveling. This place is about 2-3 hours northwest of us in Wisconsin, so we've been able to make it a few times now. And yes, there is a designated walking path through the entire cave.

    Very nice. Is it cold inside and dies the water droos drips on us and make us wet ?

    • @lesserknownadventures
      @lesserknownadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a nice temperature inside of the cave. It says around 50 degrees year round, but it doesn’t feel super cold. Right now it’s the exact spot I’d like to be, instead of this upper 90’s and humid weather haha!
      And yes, there’s some spots where you get dropped on. Not enough to get really wet though. It’s called being kissed by the cave.
