did dlink ever put out any new drivers or fixes for the live feed and motion detection windows? Also I'd like to see some indoor footage since I'd be using this to monitor my living room while I'm away if I bought it.
+The Proffessor Tex it has not. However they did add and fix the mobile app so it can do more. I will try and get some day and night footage this weekend and add it.

(not PIR) in this model? or video recording starts only with PIR? b) how many days can this record in 24H @ best resolution possible??? (in a 32sd card)?? Thank you in advance!
+jimtheseraf2 a) yes you can select target area to detect motion and start a recording using the app. b) you can get a week or better depending on how much activity is recorded.
I figured as much lol, but I think the manufacturer should consider adding that function as a selling point since it has simular resolutions and looks like one. I bought one though, and I'm excited to see how it does.
I'm confused could you just not set day/night mode settings from auto to 'day' in the Audio video settings tab. This then turns off the IR lights constantly, until you change the setting back to Night or Auto, this would save all the tape? I have done this with my 932L with no problem.
+Wanderer001 how odd it turns them off on my 933L & 5222L, i can also switch them on and off using my-dlink on my phone. Must be a quirk of the 942L that's different. Thanks for the video I know not to get one due to this problem.
Got this cam at yard sale. Want to use in window, the modem still shows up in the app and connects to my WiFi easily and light turns green but the app will not connect, it keeps saying that it's not connected even though it clearly is. What could be the problem? Not much info online! I tried dlink and dlink light.

please i hope you respond can this turn on and off? I olny want to record or have live feed when a sitter in home alone with my kids. and of it gets "accidentally" un pluged will it still record?
You get a live feed all the time as long as there is power to it. You can set up times for when it actually records to the SD card. For events that you want to keep, Like when you sitter is home alone with your kids. Sadly if there is no power to the camera it will not record.

It could be that this camera was discounted and this is why the app will not recognize the camera.
What version do you have? I have the rev A and it's so slow on wifi.

How close would a car have to be for you to see the license plate, if say, your neighbour keeps driving onto your front lawn?
+pandazzz This model is only a stander definition one. The car would have to be with in a few feet to actually make out a plate number.
