Wah.. so yummy! I used to go Padang Indonesia since I was young because my parents have friends over there. They also like to come to Singapore so we often met them. The difference is, here you pick what you want and only few dishes plus expensive. There they will put all the dishes in small plates over 10-15 of them and serve with one plate white rice. Then whatever dish you eat on the table you pay, never eat then leave it so they won't charge. Can also ask for more of the same dish. Their rendang is usually on the very dry side, their kuah lemak is cooked differently with not only chicken but also cow's intestine. My favourite is their beef jerky with sambal ijo. Closest I tried is the one at pasar geylang. They have the beef jerky with sambal ijo. Queue very long and can be quite expensive but it's worth it 😅
If you want to have authentic Nasi Padang experience, the most essential things are sayur nangka, daun ubi, cabe hijau/merah, and different kinds of kuah into your rice. In Indonesia, it is a default serving but in Singapore you need to order them.
I only eat Nasi Padang in Indonesia. I love the Cabe Ijo, Nangka, Gulai Kambing, All the Ayams (Goreng, Gulai, Pop & Bakar) ... Yummmm. My favorites are Pagi Sore, Medan Baru, Instana & Garuda. It is not cheap though, about $15-20 a head.
actually nasi padang doesn't necessarily have to have ayam gulai, ayam pop, rendang, etc. i feel like the most essential parts of nasi padang, aside from the white rice itself, are the sayur nangka, (daun) ubi tumbuk and sambal ijo, plus the mixture of several gulai broths that are mixed into the rice.
Sengkang one is near my old house..everyday eat at the kopishop.the nasi padang getting worse.when they just open 10years ago very nice..now jialat..but the mee siam still power..😅
everytime I passby serangoon garden mkt, I was wondering whether got any halal food. thanks for this. Now can go. Also most begedil they all buy frozen. the ones make themselves are the best and it is usually obvious can know one.
I feel like you guys missed the best True Indonesian Padang in SG, from Rumah Makan Minang. Not just because its my god uncle’s place, not biased at all but its the best !!! Do an episode there !!!! Will come down if you do haha
This is nice! If you are doing part 2 of this, you can try from Paya Lebar square-basement. The premise is called "taste of indonesia" I WANT MORE HALAL FOOD EPISODES!
Terus terang aku klau makan nasi padang aku lebih suka org melayu kita masak. Sebab ada bismillah. Klau nasi padang org bangsa lain masak aku tak akan makan. Dulu aku pernah makan nasi padang halal kat Orchard Plaza. Penjual dia org Cina, tapi yg masak lauk pauk org Melayu kita. Makcik² old generation punya style masak. Tak tahu skrg kedai mkn di Orchard Plaza itu masih dibuka tidak.

Zhin is back on videooo , is good to see him!!! been long since he appear in front us!
When Zhin keeps saying 'Bargedil' and Tami keeps 'correcting' it to 'Bergedil' haha
no correct way its just a different way of saying it mah, perkedel itself is an indonesian pronunciation of the original dutch dish ' frikadeller '
I think bargedil is mostly said by SGean malays.

Zhin & Tami 👍👍💚💚🧡🧡👍👍
In Indonesia It's "Perkedel" from dutch word "frikadel"
Learning something new everyday!
Hello eatbook, I always feel intrigued by your amazing food recommendation videos, the food looks so flavourful. 😊
Great combo 🎉
Tami very photogenic! Video Camera Loves her! 👍👍🧡🧡💚💚👍👍Very Pretty Girl! 🧡🧡💚💚👍👍
Thanks for the review.. honestly, pls review again the 3rd stall when its fresher (to be fair) :)
You should try putra minang
I live in The Netherlands and we eat this stuff all the time ;-)
Because dutch brought Indonesian food to Neatherlands called rijstafel
@@joMan1060 Yeah indeed, I find 'rijsttafel' a bit like colonialism bragging, but the simpler version (nasi goreng) got a foothold here.
next meal to go for; Mee Bakso! 🤤
Tami is so lovely aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Nasi Padang, I thought was originally from Sumartra? Stalls u selected are less known, to claim the best? I am not too sure about that
Can you guys do a video replicating Starbucks chicken foldover. With Hafeez pls. Thank you.
Toa payoh must try
"Your microwave??" 😂😂😂
explain to me on a economical level, WHY IS NASI PADANG SO DAMN EXPENSIVE?! WHY!
U should see the ingredients they use. They dont only use oyster sauce and garlic hor
the ingredients n preps are not the same like cai fan.go n try
Rendang takes a long time to make for the melt in ur mouth texture. They cld use pressure cooker but the meat wld not have absorbed the spices.
The first stall is next to my block when I was still living in Sg. I don't like the rendang. The nasi rawon though..... Syiok!
