Today I'm looking at some of the biggest transfer news this week and putting each rumour into HIT or MISS! Including: Eze to Arsenal, Olmo to Chelsea, Calafiori to Arsenal, Sancho to Juventus, Zirkzee to United, Doue to Tottenham, Cherki to Dortmund, Branthwaite & De Ligt to United & more!

Feeling gooooood! Zirkzee looks like a super interesting creative player, I'm excited to see him perform.
Happy, cheap, young, talented, gives us something different than Hojlund if we need it and can play many different positions
~£40m is an insane deal. it'll be interested to see how ten hag uses him in tandem with hojlund, or even if he intends to do so at all

Decent player, followed him since Bayern but wasn’t anything extremely special, I feel we should’ve focused on the midfield and defense over zirkzee but if that doesn’t affect any signings then good rotation between him and hojland
Romano said the olmo deal has a secret clause that if Spain hit the finals the deadline for the release is open until the 20th
I don't remember anyone saying that Romeu wasn't good enough for the prem, I loved him at Chelsea and over 200 appearances at Southampton should mean something
As a Chelsea fan I think I can say that none of us really understand most of the players we’re linked to
As a Liverpool fan at least your linked with players
because it's just players agents pushing the rumours, none of them every come to life. Nobody was linking us with Tosin, KDH or Veiga this window. Can almost guarantee that all players we are initially linked with will not happen.
Joe, Calafiori is surely a hit. Timber and White will rotate at RB. There is no way White is playing 50 games another season with the ongoing knee issue. Also we have no idea how Timber will recover. One of Kiwior or Zinchenko will probably depart, with Tomiyasu being a swiss army knife backup. Calafiori will be a clear starter besides Gabriel at LB. He is elite
I can't see a world in which Timber isn't the starting LB. Let's remember how Arteta started last season with Timber in that role. White is undroppable!
@@joethomlinson_ I hear you, but we have no idea if Timber will break down again. White also put his body on the line throughout the spring, playing through injury. He´s obvs undroppable if fit, but I dont think the club wants to put him through the same workload next season. I predict 25+ PL games from start for Calafiori 😀
@@joethomlinson_ Timber is right footed I'm pretty sure, better to have a natural lefty there, Timber could always play in the mid at the 6/8
@@joethomlinson_Ben white must be dropped. We want to go far in all competitions. There must be serious rotations in all defensive positions. Saliba/white/Gabriel must all be dropped for at least 10 games. Timber is better at rb than lb.
@@liamfred9011fully agree, rotation with less drop off boosts title chances! I think any pushback is just due to term “dropped” being construed exclusively with bad form. Meanwhile fans and pundits alike paradoxically implore “need for elite depth”
Dani Olmo deserves a big move this summer! he's been fantastic for spain this Euro's, one of the most exciting players to watch for me. If we didn't have Szoboszlai i'd love for Liverpool to sign him.

Southampton and Ipswich are really looking to be Premier-League ready, with their signings, considering the players they are trying to bring in. Hopefully, they improve even further to avoid a Burnley-like season
I think looking at “league minutes played” is a bit deceiving nowadays since big clubs also do much more rotation due to playing 55-60 games. When Hargreaves played for United first season he only played in 20 or so league games but was essential for us in the CL. These things need to be considered
Controversial but I think calafoiri is coming for that LCB spot in the long term, basically arsenals version of stones since Gabriel will be 28 in 2years and in the short term we do need that defensive depth, saliba played all the arsenal games last season and Gabriel played a vast majority…don’t think that’s sustainable with the new CL and influx of games
As Gabriel will be 28 in 2 years....so he has 6-8 years left in his prime as a cb?
@@cianle-ginger802 I just have a feeling that arteta might be like Pep with his CBs, changing them as they approach Their 30s aka Laporte, and the fact that Gabriel had his head turned by Saudi Arabia last season…it’s fairly a crackpot theory but I can see it since calafoiri would be aged 25 in 2years and a lot of people think his true potential is at LCB, that’s IF he fulfills it

Califiori doesn't just play as a CB he started out as a LB at Basel so with that versatility and how good he has been throughout last season and his time at Basel. It makes sense to buy him because if arsenal sell Tierney, tavares, zinchenko and either kiwior or tomiyasu (highly doubt tomi leaving) then there would obviously be space for him especially with the amount of games arsenal will play next season even with timber rotating with him
Is it really worth selling 5 players to buy a CB who hasn’t played LB since he played in a league that’s barely half the league that the PL is? Are we POSITIVE he can keep up in a foot race to the ball against PL wingers?

@@ShrimpsonHdo any other of our lbs currently? if he provides more than the rest then it’s a fine margin we should close. we have been fortunate for no injuries to gabi but saw how saliba going out crippled us. we need quality depth and calafiori provides in more than 1 position as well as having huge quality and potential.
Chelsea just get linked with everyone because the players agents push it out but none of the "rumours" every come to fruition. Nobody saw the Tosin, Veiga or KDH deals because Chelsea do their business quietly. You can almost guarantee that most players Chelsea are linked with initially will not happen, especially Adeyemi and Olmo.

Timber is NOT A LB.
Never played on the left hand side in his career EVER before arsenal.
I know you love Ben White but it’s obvious Timber was brought in as an Upgrade on RB before his unfortunate injury.
Ben White is clearly the one going to drop out of that back 4 . He will be backup RCB as he was meant to be holding’s replacement.
He’s horrendous 1v1, not great at inverting and only overlaps as a decoy as his crossing is subpar.

is undoubtedly the most complete defense in europe for sure

Adeyemi for Chelsea confuses me and the same for Calafiori to Arsenal. Adeyemi feels unnecessary and is too raw like Mudryk, we’d just be hampering both their development. Calafiori has good versatility on the left side but he’s mainly a cb and Arsenal really need to focus on a back up for Saka imo.
Eze and Calafiori make sense and could be what it takes to wrestle the title away from Citys vice like grip!
Got the Calafiori one wrong Joe, Kiwior is on his way out to Milan/Juve and Calafiori is viewed as the starter at LB while also being LCB cover. Timber is rotation for White and LB as well.
Adeyami is great player playing the wrong position. He’s sneaky strong, aggressive, good tackler and presser, so so fast, decent cross, can’t finish. The dude was born to be a wingback

We don’t technically need Calafiori but it’s necessary to have depth to finish the race for the title
Arsenal starters: White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko/Kiwior
Arsenal bench: Tomiyasu/Timber, Timber, Calafiori, Calafiori/Kiwior
Timber provides cover for White and Saliba while Calafiori provides cover for Gabriel and Kiwior/Zinchenko.
How is that not phenomenal business???
Joe , despite having the best Defensive record in the league there still some uncertainty in the defense for Arsenal , Zinchenko cost them in 2 big games against Villa and against Liverpool last season , if Davies does not sign a new contract Bayern will probably look into Zinchenko, Kiwior is wanted back in Italy and with Timber , the injury he got was innocuous , no one knows whether he get more injuries like with Lisandro , what if he does not return to the level he was at like what happened to Bellerin , yes 50m is a lot but Calafiori actually makes sense for Arsenal
I dont think arsenal are stacked in the defence as you think. They played the whole of last season without their first choice LB and the fact that their two CBs weren't injured for even a single match last season made it look like they were stacked, but in truth, they had only Kiwior as a backup for both the centr backs
Great video Joe!!!! Keep an eye out for David Hancko from Feyenoord, had a banging season for them and can play both CB and full back. He would be a banging player in the prem (hopefully for United 🔴🔴🔴)
Zirkzee seems like the right transfer at the wrong time. The whole uproar last season around United was how they needed a more experienced striker, with Hojlund providing to be a backup who'd come off the bench for a few games and then mould into the starting number 9. Zirkzee is only 23, and like Hojlund when he joined United, only at the back of ONE good season. Just doesn't seem the right fit for what United need.

Liam Delap being a hit also feels off, £20m (inc. add ons) for a championship striker that has hit 12 in 72 games isn’t good business.

Guiu is good but not experienced Jackson is just doubtful in front of goal i would say Toney is the best option he's a proven goalscorer and he's got experience of EPL

No one should sign sancho unless he settles for 40-50k per week. He’s getting over £350k per week at utd and that’s the reason they won’t be able to sell him cuz he won’t accept less money anywhere else 😂😂😂
In my opinion if Arsenal sign Calafiori it would give them more depth in the right center back position if ben white would be moved to center back and timber plays the right fullback role

I don't think arsenal sign Calafiori, he will go to Chelsea. Arsenal defensive options are stacked, they won't sell Timber. Just give him a change Mikel! They won't sign a left back because zinchenko can play in left back as well as midfielder, if Oleksander is injured, Tierney can replace him. Eze will stay at Palace

Sorry Joe but I don’t agree with Delap as a hit at all. I watched him at Preston North End and he was comfortably the worst player of the loanee attackers of Troy Parrott and Tom Cannon.

You always massively overrate United players/ targets which we all do for our own club, it’s the hope that keeps us coming back to watch our sides season after season. In terms of Eze to Arsenal it could happen but I think they are trying to clear players out before they sign new players have they spent too much (£650m) over the past 3 and a half seasons
Is no one staring to clock how much money Arsenal are spending, the are spending bags more than city and still arent winning leagues. Genuenly worries me that any decent player in europe is being linked with arsenal

Arsenal need a midfielder at the moment, but it would be interesting if the Calafiori signing would free up Zinchenko to play midfield. I don't see it happening but it could be something to consider
