If you wanted to be Half realistic go get you a three point bale spear and put a bale on it to use as a counter weight. That is what my grandpa does when moving hay for the cattle and it seems to work in real life
I'm new here but this is my favorite fs22 series so far, and you're quickly becoming one of my favorite TH-camrs lol we think pretty similarly, I don't find myself yelling at the screen saying "you should've done xyz" 😂 pretty laid back, authentic play style, I like it here.
Haha, welcome to the channel! I'm sure at some point you'll find the need to yell at the screen but that's what comments are for ;-). I'm always open to suggestions and ideas even if I don't always implement them. I've found over the years that if you talk to 19 farmers you'll get 10 different "right ways to do things". :)

I think it would also be efficient to get a 3 point bale spear on the back instead of the weight so the bale acts as the weight and you get 3 bales
Hi Kederk, awesome video. Just letting you know, Iowa does have brown swiss cows and Ayrshire cow's.
Yep, there is a reason I converted from bales to loose and using silo's on Marxville and FS19. Good Luck if you stick with bales if you want more than 100 or so cows. On Marxville I was able to get up to 400 cows and that limitation was based on not being able to put down more cow barns/areas due to Marxville wouldn't allow more pens on the map.
We may upgrade to autoload trailers soon :)
In fs 22 the feed fill level is for the max amount of animals, which is 500 on that barn. With only the 50 you have 10% of the feed capacity is really 100%. If that makes sense
Oh thanks I'm still thinking of how it was in 19 where it was based on the number of cows you own I think.

@jakes2473 you could go into the building xml and reduce the capacity but when/if you do get more animals you might have to top it off multiple times a day
I would recommend that you move to feeding them TMR as soon as possible - the boost in productivity is significant.
For sure I think next episode we'll be doing corn silage.
IRL cows produce milk after having their first calf, normally between 20-24 months. Some farms have been able to get their cattle to calve earlier but its not really the standard. Giants has the system all screwed up. When I do cows I use the Real Life Numbers mod to fix that

Three point bale spear with bale on the back for weight. Can carry 3 bales at a time too. Classic

There are plenty (at least 5) of them for console on the modhub. Go look under front loader....

I've certainly had to scale up production as this series has progressed. I'm slowly getting there!
Maybe some back duals will add weight to the loader tractor
I love the auto load bale shed we need it for all platforms
And as u know. U dont have to shut the gates into cows area. Cause u have those rills under the gate irl cows dosent cross it no matter what🤩 that whats been used here in norway in mountains. Cause u cant have gates on public roads but rills like that can be placed for crossing for tractors and cars👍🏻🤩
I love playing realistically. however, putting bales on the trailer is where I opt for Super Strength instead. 😅😂

I prefer using a autoload fork with a autoload trailer. Good blend of realism with nice pretty stacks
AWESOME video! Curious, are you using the grazing addon? I haven't had much luck with it on UMRV yet which is a bummer since they have beautiful grazing pastures.
Fun fact a 32 foot hay trailer like that one will haul more than a 20 foot flatbed trailer in real life in the same amount of time even though the flatbed will hold more

Am I the only one who really wants to see automatic gates? Like the ones that are irl. Like the mod puts a weight sensor under the ground and it opens up when you get on the weight and then when you drive off it has a five second delay then closes
Some maps have automatic gates that will open when you pull up in front of them.
Definitely need more food for sure

My guess is that it failed due to a small issue and was sent back to Casearias.

The feed trough holds 1,000,000 liters of feed no matter how many cattle you have
Thanks, I'm used to previous iterations based on animal count
If you want a better turnout, maize plus makes the feed amounts so much more so if you removed it, it would be much better, totally up to you tho

Well they've got TMR now so hopefully after the next day ticks by I'll see a health increase.
I usually run 150 bales instead of 180
In real life that tractor would pick them two bales up no problem it is either the tractors are too light or the bales are too heavy
That's what I was hoping which is why I went with the 7810 with the loader instead of the 4440. Ah well we'll figure it out.
