Thank you so much for your feedback. Mustard dal is split Mustard seeds without the skin. It should be available at the local grocery store or also available online. 🙂
Patsy, mustard dal is the split mustard seeds without the black cover. If you don't get it, then use double the quantity of mustard seeds in this recipe. If hing is not available you can use powdered hing. But You should add it in the pickle oil after it is heated & you have switched off the flame or else it will burn.

Lourdine, thanks for you're feedback. But to make stuffed mango pickle you will need raw mangoes with a soft seed. If you can't get them, you can make cut piece Miscut pickle using this same recipe.
Blossom, we would have loved to make Green Olive pickle but we only put up Goan recipes on our channel. I'm sure you'll find a recipe online for Olive Pickle 🙂

Hi Milosha, We have mentioned in the description box that if you are not using whole hing then add half a Teaspoon of Hing powder. Hope that clarifies your question. Have a great day 🙂
Milosha, you only have to use hing once in the oil that's it! 🙂 Add it in the oil after you fry the whole mustard & mustard dal. Switch off the heat first & while the oil is still hot add the hing powder or else it will burn. 🙂

Hing is not fried well.
Thanks for the tip, But if you over fry it the hing will burn. Be careful of that!
