Jamie Grace. In my high school there are some teachers who will do anything to destroy my faith. Science teachers I kind of understand it. But there are some who it's not a part of their curriculum, but just don't care. So can you talk about that in your show.

When I was sixteen I made a list of things that I wanted in a man. Everyday I prayed for God to bring the right one to me in his timing. So whether I was going to be 18 or 27 by the time I got him, I wanted my first boyfriend to be my only boyfriend. I just wanted God's will for my life. I gave dating to God. And everyday I prayed for my future husband even though I didn't know of I had even met him yet. I asked God to convict my heart and every time I would start "liking" a boy, I asked God to shut it down before it got to actually be a relationship and every time, he did exactly that. it's been a couple years since I prayed those prayers and he has allowed me to meet the love of my life and we choose to continue walk this path with the Lord together. Love you Jamie!

i'm a high school student , and i'm one of the only people i know who has no interest in dating .... and i've always felt so strange for that. but i've had conviction from God to hold off and not date , to just wait for His perfect timing. i'm more focused on my music (i play guitar and sing for youth band at church) and that's really what i'm putting all of my energy into. thank you for making this video , it's what i needed to see

OMG JAMIE GRACE!!! This is my life rn lol I was taken out of public schools and went to a Christian private school from 4th to 8th grade, then I was home schooled for 9 and 10th grade, then was actually able to go to community college and skip 11th and 12th grade. I'm 17, never been in a relationship and I love the decision I've made. I'm also saving myself for marriage. And ALOT of my peers don't agree with my decisions or understand my convictions but I can honestly say that I'm in a VERY good place in my life. I'm 17 and I've owned a business since I was 13 and I've done alot of amazing things and I can honestly say it's simply from doing what God has called me to do. And my life is by no means. perfect but I just look at some of the things my peers struggle with and I'm just thankful those are things I don't have to worry about. My parents are pastors and I'm even just thankful to them for doing the "unpopular" thing and raising me like they did. BUT I'm gonna shut up now lol and just say I really appreciate you and your channel. You're such an amazing person and yah you're awesome lol

Jamie Grace, I really hope you respond to this. I'm 13 right now and my goals are the same as yours. I want to play guitar, piano, and become a Christian singer. Maybe not by myself, maybe in a band, but I'm going where the Lord takes me. I'm in a band right now (we haven't released anything yet) with my best friend who plays drums and piano pretty well and is teaching herself xylophone and guitar. It would be great if my fellow Christian friends prayed for her bc she is having family issues right now. But seriously Jamie, you have just been so inspirational toward me, and the further I watched this video I realized that I totally agree with you on guys and how much you have meant to me. You are probably my biggest role model. And don't think that if you do something wrong that that will change. I love you Jamie!

Well said. I would address though that a lot of kids, girls in particular who don't have 'good' parents or family situation seek someone to 'fill the void', Especially those who don't have a (settled) relationship with The Lord.
Young people need involvement & want to be social with peers (but those not in tune with The Lord, can misdirect in to things all over the board! ...This is where things can get all kinds of crazy & confusing!
** Young people that find yourself in this place... Find a church where you see a lot of happy people your age! A loving church family and youth group and "youth group leaders/mentors" that really care about the 'kids' they mentor! *
Ask those going there what they think of the leaders. Be selective, find yourself mentors who have their lives together, who put God first and are making a difference for good in the kids they are mentoring!** )
Be wise and choose friends who are like minded as much as possible, so you can encourage each other & pray with each other toward God's Best for your lives! This is priceless! and THEN you will be on the path to the ''right" person fit for you! But in the mean time., you will (as Jamie said) be developing as the person God designed you to be!
Have fun and dont worry about that now!
Let "The (your) Father" arrange your marriage.
Trust He will do this at the best time for you and the other person.

While being intentional in dating, and therefore not dating much, how did you decide to go on the dates you did go on? What qualities do you look for in a guy before you agree to go on a date with him? Is there a certain stage of friendship you would want to reach before going on a date?

I'm in college, not high school, but my best friend has been pushing me to date people for the sake of experience, which is not something I feel is right. I've been struggling with the idea for a while, but this was exactly the encouragement I needed!

Thank you for putting another perspective on dating and also waiting on the guy that the Lord has planned for you. It helps my new teen and preteen to understand what we as parents try to talk with them about. A lot of pressure sometimes for our girls from friends with families backing up the dating in early grade school, even like Pre-K, and beyond.

Amen! Thank you for sharing that! I myself am going to be Junior and turn 16 in August and haven't been on a date. At this point, I am the only person in my friend group who hasn't had a date or boyfriend. Sometimes it's hard when I see them gushing over their significant other but it's even harder when I see them get their heart broken.
Also, thank you for explaining that yes, you may find guys attractive. I know I do lol. But that self control is great. I also enjoyed your fast food analogy and I may start to use the "guy from the Lord's kitchen" thing 😂😂😂.

I am a senior this coming year in highschool, I've never dated anyone and even though I'm homeschooled ( love your homeschool video's too!) it's still super hard when all your friends are dating or in relationships because they feel like they need to be. My high school was full of drama and a lot of people are up to your business who you're dating. So, if you break up people will be talking about that a lot. Personally, I only been friends with guys but I never dated anyone my 4 years. It's only when I graduated I started dating someone a year older who graduated from the same school. It's better to keep your relationship private. It's really not anyone's business.

I'm a freshman going to be sophomore (15 years old) and I don't plan on dating in these next 3 years. I want to give as much as I take from a relationship and I highly doubt that I can do that now. I've got to much anxiety and insecurity about myself to try and support someone else. Plus, even though sometimes I do feel really out of place, I like being single. It's nice to exist as my own person and it's freeing to know that I can grow myself and with God w/o needing a guy. And watching my parents solve conflict is incredible, they're brilliant at it. My dad is a counselor so communication is the norm at my house. It really will be nice to find a fulfilling, stable relationship in the future, but I KNOW I'm not ready for that now.
I haven't started high-school but when I do next year I'll be ready for it and whatever comes next.
I like how you are emphasizing patience and God's leading in such situations. Based on the world's view, people will push young people into marrying young. They do not focus on purity and want things the fast food way. I also could not agree more that people need to grow in a lot ways to become ready for marriage.

I have only watched two of your videos, but I already have a very good sense of who you are. You had to not only go through many experiences to be who you are, but you had to have such an open heart during those experiences, at such a young age, in order to be so mature as you are in your personality, and in your character.

I hated the idea of dating in high school because teenagers shouldn’t be dating at this young. I was not allowed to date until I’m at least 8, yet I see all these 13 year old girls who already have boyfriends. Dating in high school and getting school crushes has become the norm lately. Almost all of my friends have boyfriends except for me, and I feel insecure because of it.

Thank you for this! I'm going into high school this year and I was worried about dating. I don't want to date for a while, but I always get worried that my friends will have boyfriends and I won't. This inspired me to know that it's okay to not have a boyfriend. I hate how a lot of the music industry encourages dating. I kind of had that "fast food" mentality, but it was more of a "society pressure" mentality. I saw everyone around me getting into relationships, and I was even teased in a horrible, horrible way one time that I was going to die alone and be single forever, and for a while I believed them.
From fairytales when you were a kid to the high school chick flicks like "Mean Girls", there is a lot of pressure to be in a relationship.
I'm 24 years old, and I wished I had my first kiss in high school...

Well said, Jamie! I definitely dated back in high school and sure I learned a lot from those experiences, but I am definitely not dating the same girl, nor have I dated in a few years now. I learned a lot that I needed to work on and understand. I had NO goals back then. Through this time of singleness I have been able to understand what my goals are. I was also able to understand my passions without them being influenced by someone else. Ultimately, there is SO much good stuff to learn in a period of singleness. I love your thoughts on the LAWD'S kitchen! I had this thought one day; I can DO life with someone (settle), or I can ENJOY life with someone (wait for someone who shares the same life goals). This means I need to be patient in the waiting. Or you could say that I need a little more baking time! Haha! ;P
