I moved from New Jersey almost two years ago. I made my decision to retire to Hilton Head after vacationing over a decade ago. I spent many years traveling the country and never came across an area as beautiful at Beaufort county. Great video!

When I left Long Island, NY in 1992 right after undergrad school and headed for South Carolina, my family and friends thought I was crazy. They would say things like, "They're still fighting the Civil War down there!", and "They don't like Yankees!". I have NEVER had an issue. I have lived in Greenville, Anderson, and now Myrtle Beach and my family and I have a WONDERFUL quality of life. BTW- the same friends and family who thought I was crazy are asking me for relocation help!

There are talks of Safe Harbor Marina, owners of Port Royal Landing, in conversation to purchase the land from Grey Ghost Properties and build a new marina with 250 boat slips and develop the surrounding land with single family homes, condos and townhomes. Time will tell!
