In 2010 they gone to the x factor as solo artists untill the bootcamp. But as solo artists they didn't make it to the judges houses. The judges decided that they were too talented to let them go so they put them in a group. Harry came up with the name One Direction. They sang at simon's cowell house and get through to the live shows. They ended up going to the final and came in 3rd place. ( they lost in the x factor but they win the world ). After the x factor they could decide either to continue as a boy band or stop, they continue for 5 years. In March 2015 Zayn Malik left the group for health reasons. Unfortunately in December 2015 they announced their hiatus, they promised it will last for 18 months and ended up to be 5 years. Now everyone has a solo career. In 23rd July 2021 they have their 11th year of One Direction (anniversary).
I mean I guess it could be their goodbye song since it was release after they announced the hiatus and started their hiatus but like the song says “this is not the end” so it might be the end of that era and we had good memories but it isn’t the end cause we will make new memories with them either as solo artist or as them coming back
I think they said this is not the end to reassure fans that it's not the end of 1D and they will come back soon but well let's just say every directioner has cried atleast once listening to this
And I just want to say that they could’ve easily (they chose the images in the song) chosen not to include Zayn but a, they aren’t petty and b, they recognized he was “family”. I think that’s cool
No no, they did. Small clips but they included Zayn, each one in their section. They chose the images the wanted to share with the fans. So Louis chose his, Liam Harry and Niall the same. Zayn will forever part of 1D (wether I or him want to accept/like it or not
No the when you said was that their last performance too, that wasn’t it, their last performance was the last shot, but other that that crying in concerts is kinda of a common thing in 1d concerts especially at the beginning and end and the slow songs too
Honestly nowadays it takes much more than a good voice to make a popstar. So many good singers out there but so few make it in the industry. It is really about showmanship, hard work, relatability, looks (sadly), personality+ a ton of luck with opportunity.

Yes. I’d say this was their good bye song. I love the song. But. It’s very bitter sweet to watch as well. Beautiful and full of memories. I feel there are like a handfull of songs on their last album that are good bye messages. They knew when they made this album that this was gonna be it. They just never told us. They told us they were gonna do a ”hiatus” but of course they’d come back. Perhaps it was what they thought at the time. Perhaps they just said it to be able to leave a door open should going solo not work. Who knows. I thought at the time they’d come back because they ended up saying so in so many interviews.
