just as a tip, when going for that human feel it's not just important to change the velocity of each note but you need to make sure not all the notes are perfectly on time!
I think one thing that’s really important for me when trying to learn something from someone on yt is to feel like they are making something serviceable or high quality. I’ve been searching all day for a good lofi demonstration because many ppl go over the basics but create something that’s either bad or just not in line with the genres core principles. It feels like they don’t even really listen to lofi, which is fine. But then how can they expect to make something of quality if they haven’t been engrossed in the genre. It’s like when a teacher makes a shitty rap song for class despite not really understanding the art form. You on the other hand I presume do understand it. What you made is good. Like I could jam to this. And that’s important because if I’m trying to learn how to make something I would think is good I want to at least start following someone making something I would say is good. Seeing someone go over basics but they make a shitty cheap knock off isn’t helpful. Seeing all the moving parts and at the end seeing a quality product gives you a scope of what you need to know to make something good as well. Thankyou great vid
As an old head, this just demonstrates the simplicity of formulaic music making. Of course the previous generation said the same thing about our music. "It all sounds the same, now get off my lawn!" This is well done though. Formulaic and preschool in a way, but well done. Thanks for posting.
You are so much better than Sharpe. How do you possibly have less subs than him? I guess the Internet is funny like that sometimes. You are actually a talented producer.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I try not to compare myself to others though. Instead I just focus on myself and if I'm even the slightest bit ahead of where I was yesterday that's something to be grateful for. In January I only had 738 subscribers, now I'm at over 5,000. I'm not a huge creator, my channel isn't monetized or anything, but I'm definitely seeing progress and I'm completely satisfied with that.
J. Rent I think you'll be near 100k subs by the end of this year. You have great content and actually edit your videos well. You are also quite consistent. Thanks. Much success to you.
The true essence of Lo-Fi is imperfection, kinda like life, you know. That's why I think it is the most fitting to listen in mundane situations, since life is what it is.

This was a fantastic and in depth tutorial and helped me create my first lo fi song recently however I found the lyrics to be a bit too aggressive for the beat. I still think it sounds great just doesn't quite fit in my opinion. Loved the video
J. Rent I liked the bars and flow if I'm honest, I just wish the mix was a little warmer. I don't think you need to lo-fi the vocals on a lo-fi track, the beat captures that feeling well enough yknow?
He should have changed the vocal pitch! An cut some parts of the lyrics out and create a repetitive catchy vocal phrase. Then name the beat after that phrase..... The most important part of lofi lol
@ everyone in the comments, he meant no music samples.. and the tutorial is just ab 7 min long, you learned in 7 min. to anyone who wants to make a good beat should already know; the amount of time spent creating it doesn't even matter. art is about the odyssey you experience to and through producing. *Slow Clap*... MY GUYYYYY!!! Shit's SO FIRE! Don't listen to the haters, music is an outlet for each individual to find meaning and emotion. If you see the .dll file anywhere copy and paste it into your FL studio VST plugins folder. It should be under Program Files (x86) > Image Line > FL Studio > Plugins > VST Then open up FL Studio, go to your mixer, go to open up effects and select "more" then scan for more VSTs and the vinyl plugin should appear in the list, just check the little box beside it to let FL Studio know you want this VST to appear in the effects menu

@Dr Phil bruh macbooks are fucking expensive and some people don't have that money
This video is pure gold
Thanks!
I was so annoyed from lo-fi playlists until i heard World of Warcraft but Lo-Fi.
Now I took my dnb and get it to the cabinet and enjoy making some lo-fi tracks - so calm and relaxing.
THX for this tutorial - it helps make it more quality.
Good job 😉
Props for being mega-informative. One of the best tutorials I’ve seen for sure.
Love the piano, man! Dreamy :) This inspired me to make an Ableton tut
fr thats exactly the theme and sound that i wnat so hear when i hear lofi i freakin love it(but without rap)
Your tutorials are insane man. You deserve a lot more attention!
Thank you!
Love seeing everybody else’s process!! 👌🏼👌🏼
Titlse says "no samples"
continues to use rain sample
._.
Haha yup, you got me
Yeah, it’s rain tho
Learning some synthesis, anything is possible!
Technically, drums were smaples, kicks...hihats...all that. There has gotta be some leeway when it comes to that right? Like some obvious expectations that he only meant no melody samples and such? *Heart Emoji*
What should he have done to create rain
This is an interesting genre. I might look more into this.
just as a tip, when going for that human feel it's not just important to change the velocity of each note but you need to make sure not all the notes are perfectly on time!
pls make a full song out of this i love the song
*"In keeping in tradition, I'm going to drop some bars over this thing."*
Me: NOOOOOO! It's perfect the way it is!!!!
Lmao, that's just what I do in these videos, I always gotta drop some #barzzzz even if it ruins the beat, it must be done
@@JRent506 what is the song name?
High quality content bruh. Deserve a gold medal for explaining all details
Thank you!
seriously thank you for not over-meme-ing
As an old head, this just demonstrates the simplicity of formulaic music making. Of course the previous generation said the same thing about our music. "It all sounds the same, now get off my lawn!"
This is well done though. Formulaic and preschool in a way, but well done. Thanks for posting.
Now this is the stuff I wanna see in my recommended, cheers TH-cam. Great vid mate, love the beat.
Omfg I have been pronouncing lofi like low-feee all my life
hi dad lol me too
Lmao so you also pronounce Wi-Fi as "Wi-Feee" too?
@@_botsxng damn you gotta point....
SAME
Same🙄
Love the offset of the rhymes with "noone" at the double time. Really brought it together
Juan Alej Sharpe is shit
JRent: "NOT GONNA USE SAMPLES"
Me: X to doubt
that iZotope Vinyl plugin is EXACTLY what I needed!!!
That melody was beautiful
Thank you!
The true essence of Lo-Fi is imperfection, kinda like life, you know. That's why I think it is the most fitting to listen in mundane situations, since life is what it is.
Been thinking about doing a project like this. Your tutorial and track is bad ass. I thought to try it on my workstation first then try it in a daw. Thanks for sharing.
How to make Lo-Fi Hip-Hop type beat in 7 minutes..
1:23
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
i don’t want to be that person but he meant the- you know what never mind
• Lani • why do people cut themselves off while typing. It’s the same thing as stuttering in your typing like “h-hi... uh... sdnaoa fownalcbdomws”
He meant the teaching part
reading the textbook vs doing the assignments in the textbook
point to be noted
Me Who Used FL Studio Mobile : "Understandable, Have A Great Day"
Hey thanks for the effect suggestion and the video overall!!
Loved it before the lyrics tbh, then it died
Can't agree more
@@joebagadonuts3566 Its criticism you fucking dunce
[JABR] Janosch Roessler i think he has an infection of the mouth. “Faggot” must sound awful funny coming out of mouth with no teeth.
@@1dkappe How does this even make sense as an insult?
I have an infection of the mouth, thus I have no teeth, resulting in the word "faggot" sounding funny when I say it out loud.
How is this funny when you pulled all the info about me out your ass, and none of it is even close to accuratley portraying my reality?
@@1dkappe see the trick too insulting a human of low intelligence is to drop to there level as such
Yo this tutorial is dope af and straight to the point💪🙏🙏😨🌋🌋➕💪
Only one thing you forgot my friend. Every chillstep video, has the softest, kindest comment section you will ever see 😁🎶
I usually use the Vinyl on the master then turn up the "dust" to give it that old-vinyl crackle sound.
EDIT As a side note, you got bars my dude.
Thanks so much man, this type of tutorials are really good for anything, and I THANK You for giving me inspiration on creating a lofi song.
Music is about being creative...we can critique it all, but I applaud the move to be different. That is our job in music. Challenge the norm, be unique. Make the sound yours. KEEP PUSHING!!
Ur voice is soothing
Thank you!
Those bars were great and this is a great beat
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
I keep returning for that damned melody.
That shit immediately takes me to a village with some cool wind breezing in a summer day, idk.. I love it 😭
Damn i could really chill/study/relax to this!
This was a fantastic and in depth tutorial and helped me create my first lo fi song recently however I found the lyrics to be a bit too aggressive for the beat. I still think it sounds great just doesn't quite fit in my opinion. Loved the video
Thanks I appreciate that. And yeah maybe the lyrics didn't fit I'm not sure, lo-fi is more about the beat Anyway, I just rapped on it for fun haha
Could have gone without the rap
Yeah, I know what you mean. I rap on all my beats in these videos though, it's just tradition at this point lol
Ye ok , thenk u for hartn my comment. Sum good shit on your channel
J. Rent I liked the bars and flow if I'm honest, I just wish the mix was a little warmer. I don't think you need to lo-fi the vocals on a lo-fi track, the beat captures that feeling well enough yknow?
Producing then bodying a beat? C'mon, that's unique!
He should have changed the vocal pitch! An cut some parts of the lyrics out and create a repetitive catchy vocal phrase. Then name the beat after that phrase.....
The most important part of lofi lol
4:36 shaw shank redemption is honestly one of the best films of all time
@ everyone in the comments, he meant no music samples.. and the tutorial is just ab 7 min long, you learned in 7 min. to anyone who wants to make a good beat should already know; the amount of time spent creating it doesn't even matter. art is about the odyssey you experience to and through producing. (took Beethoven 2 years to write the 9th)
*Slow Clap*... MY GUYYYYY!!! Shit's SO FIRE! Don't listen to the haters, music is an outlet for each individual to find meaning and emotion. Everyone can take it their own way, and everyone can extrapolate what they want from each piece of work. Unless you're writing a story telling album with very specific aspects, there's artistic freedom behind whatever you choose to add. I loved what you came up with, and you've given me inspiration to work towards my own lo-fi beats. Keep up the good work, and the great videos.
Thank you, I appreciate that. And I'm also really happy to hear that you've been able to get some inspiration from my video, that's awesome!
The Shawshank Redemption. Good film.
This was fucking insane!! You made it look so simple and so cool.
That piano chord progression was so cool and beautiful!!!
10/10 video
This is so cool it makes me wish I knew what was going on
Wow I looked this up so I could compare my composition to someone else’s, I think it’s fair to say, compared to this mine sounds like dog shit.
Then produce a new track about how much your heart is broken, put anime gif, rain sample and call it "chill smooth homework beat to study".
yo, I dont know what it is about this melody, but I legit love it. I know you made this for a quick tutorial, but it actually sounds beautiful.
Shawshank redemption quotes + lo-fi is orgasmic. Excellent choice.
It's a great movie for sure
" Slow clap to progressively faster clapping " Honestly that beat slaps tho
Best FL tutorial on TH-cam rn
Man I'm Really Glad!
Because I found Your Channel
Love From HAITI
Dang very impressive, very skilled! I'm amazed!!! How many hours of practice?! Those your lyrics?! Crazy the unknown talent waiting to be uncovered. I want to find something to get this good at.
Not sure about the number of hours. I've been making beats for 3 years, and I've been rapping for 15 years haha. And yes they're my lyrics and my vocals. Thank you!

THE BEST LOFI TUTORIAL I LOVE THIS BEAT
Thanks man u helped alot💯🖤
I'm having an issue getting the Vinyl plugin into my FL Studio, I went through the installation process but after that the plugin was lost in my pc. After finding it I couldn't really do anything with the folder because of the type of file the files were considered. Now I'm just kind of lost and any help would be awesome, I saw you were still liking comments so hopefully you could help out. Thank you I look forward to using Vinyl!
If you see the .dll file anywhere copy and paste it into your FL studio VST plugins folder. It should be under Program Files (x86) > Image Line > FL Studio > Plugins > VST
Then open up FL Studio, go to your mixer, go to open up effects and select "more" then scan for more VSTs and the vinyl plugin should appear in the list, just check the little box beside it to let FL Studio know you want this VST to appear in the effects menu
@@JRent506 Thank you very much man, quick and easy fix! Great video keep it up!
These bars went CRAZY!!!! Need a full song!!
Disclaimer: multiple samples used
I meant music samples, you have to clear music samples and it is a hassle, so it's advisable to make original music if you plan on selling it
It was a late night
I was feeling alright
Next thing I knew
You were gone, nothing I could do
Had me feeling sick
Feeling like I got beat with a stick
Left this strange place we call home
I feel like I’m trapped inside a dome
I find myself crying more
My heart hurts to the core
I don’t wanna be alive anymore
Tie a knot around my neck
Can’t Kick the chair, im a wreck
I try again I count down till I get to seven
Slip and fall off the chair I guess it’s my time I’ll see you in heaven...
All I could come up with for the little time it had
That's outstanding lyrics bro, keep up. Great work mate 👌👏
