this song highlights all the thoughts and things we couldn't wait for during youth. we all couldn't wait to drive, then turn 18 and go to college and be an "adult", then finally turn 21. I too now at 25 look back and laugh. we thought these were the most important milestones of our lives. and in some ways they were. but it's not what life is all about. everything all falls into place! as kids its all we can wait for. now i wish i could go back to 15 and be a kid again! my favorite song released so far. TR keep it up!!!

Same. I'm 15 I probably won't be able to get my driver's license next year do to PTSD and epilepsy. The last 9 years of my life has been in and out of hospitals in 2012 I was in a coma for a week iv had surgery 19 times and 11 different health issues

My teenage years were terrible. Studied my brains out to make straight A's. Didn't listen when people told me that no one would care about those A's when I was an adult. They were right.

Eh, I wouldn't say everyone's teenage years are good. But I do wish I could go back and make better choices. Sad thing, a lot of choices we make when we're young and inexperienced, we have to live with for the rest of our lives. I think that's the worst part of getting older - you get fewer do-overs.

Lol, when you have your first legal drink and you don’t see fireworks it will be much more disappointing than all those under age ones you had haha.
Also you’ll realize how (as thomas Rhett mentions) you can drink at home for 1/10 of the price of going out every night like people do in college.

This song is just so true. When you aren't allowed to do something yet, you think once you are old enough everything will be perfect. When you're a teenager you're always chasing the next "best thing". Until there are no more restrictions to overcome, then what? I've settled into my twenties, don't need a fake ID to drink and just like he says at the end it's comical to me that at one point I was 16 just itching to finally drive a car around! I truly believe my twenties have been and will be even BETTER than the wonderful memories of college and high school because I no longer want for what I don't have. I am finally enjoying the present and it's made me really happy! Adulthood is really something to enjoy
Aw man it’ll all feel way deeper when you hit your 30s. Time really speeds up when you hit later life. It sucks but it’s beautiful at the same time. Hard to describe

My nephew just turned 16. Time flies.
I just bought a truck, a 75 f150, and I named it Sixteen, because of this song. We're all bustling through life trying to go faster and faster trying to get "where we're going". I bought that truck to teach me to slow things down, and appreciate the little things you come across. Sixteen is by no means a fast truck, quick yes, fast, no. She'll get me where I need to go though. No questions asked.

You are reminding me of my baby brother that passed away at 9 months when I was four, I would do anything for him to be back and grow up with me, we were abused and he passed of starvation. I was taken into foster care and then adopted years later after being with them was adopted by a loving family, I haven't cried or thought about him in years but you made my eyes watery, let us both meet our passed brothers in heaven, or whatever afterlife there is!
One way I cope with it is I pretend he is my third conscience that stays with me my whole life

I don’t understand what everyone has against country. It makes since you can understand the lyrics and it tells a relatable story that you look up too. Don’t get me wrong I love hip hop rap but country is a big favorite two.
When we were younger all we could think about was getting older and getting rich but now all we wish is to be younger so the lesson is don’t try to grow up so fast because when you do you’ll never get that feeling of being a kid again so enjoy it
