I’ve been using zippos for 40 years and never knew about repacking it until I seen your videos. Game changer ! Especially with cotton bacon and bag trick.
I repacked all of my inserts and trimmed my grandfather's 1986 Zippo (My Christmas gift to him when I was 15) after your advice! And I only use Butane by Colibri, as I have other nice torches for my cigars. It's the best and cleanest Butane fuel.
Great top five. I seldom use Zippo butane inserts, but the Xikar Tech torch lighter i use occasionally for cigar touch ups, burns Vector brand butane very well.
Enjoy your site very much. I've been using ZIPPOS my entire smoking life. At each fill up I always put a drop or two of 3in1 oil on all moving parts. Have a EDC I've used everyday for 20+ years with absolutely no problems.
A couple of other quality butane brands: Vector and Zikar One more thing Zippo owners are doing wrong: They are not cleaning the nozzle/jet of their butane insert. Use a very small flat head screwdriver to scrape it lightly, use compressed air to blow ir off, and use 100% acetone on a q-tip to remove caked in dirt, ash, and residue from burnt fuel.
I’m in the United States. For the butane inserts, I’ve been using Coleman butane. Probably not the highest quality, but it works for me. I don’t know if it’s just Coleman, but the gas is pretty stanky when I fill it up, so maybe keep that in mind too.
Haven't had any issues with the torches either. I've only the dual torch one by Zippo. I also have a Vector dual torch that I use Scripto butane in as well. No problems with either.
I’ve been using zippo butane for my single torch insert but I’ve got a can of colibri that came with my cigar humidor for free when I bought it so should I just stop using the zippo and just use the colibri? I’ve still got another small can of zippo butane I haven’t used yet.
Oh nice ! Zippo butane works for now but it won’t probably come winter. That’s experience I have anyways. When u notice your insert is having a hard time staying lit. Switch to colibri
For me the best butane is clipper universal butane it works really well and lasts for a long time . U can get a 180 gram bottle that will last u a couple years for about £10 witch is like 12 dollars
I picked up something called 9X Just Butane. Supposed to be "premium purified." Most of the use I have had with it has been refilling clipper lighters. I have had no issues with it. Havent had much testing with the Zippo inserts. I assume it will work fine tho.
Amazing video! Just bought my first "zippo" yesterday (its a knockoff but the cheapest zippos where I live cost about 70 euros) and already did most of the tips and tricks you sugested (incluiding the plastic bag on the bottom, except it's a cut off finger off a plastic glove). I'm new here in zippo community and your video helps a lot. Anyway, do you know any insert that's fuel efficient and don't need any button to hold the fire. I'm not a fan of torch style though, I just want the usual soft flame or traditional yellow fire with some red and blue on it. I don't mind if it's for pipe or what, I just want a fuel efficient and doesn't have any button to hold to keep the fire going, windproof will be good too if you have anything to suggest. Also what armor is great to have? And the size or number, I've noticed 41 is really good
Buy zippo fluid if you want to keep the brand going is what i suggest, for me in my personal feelings about vintage old classic style there is no point in using butane inserts, if you are a cheap person or want to save some money buy a gallon of naphta for about 40 bucks because all lighter fluids are naphta, the powerfull reason to buy your favorite brand lighter fluid is to help to keep the brand going on.
Yeah most weed smokers don’t want fluid though they want butane. And butane has opened up the doors for zippo to a whole batch of new customers. So many people that wouldn’t use zippo before now do because of the butane inserts. So I would say they are keeping the doors open for zippo more than u would ever imagine.
1:37 ah I see a butane torch in an armor fits well. I read various times people saying it doesn't fit right. Even zippo website says it doesn't fit an armor...which is weird cause for regular insert it's the same for armor or regular.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors you mean most doesn't fit? or most fit?. I think (after thinking about it for a long time lol) I finally arrived at the decision to use normal insert...it has lifetime warranty too. But I live in Malaysia and if you send to zippo in my country they say they will have to send to the USA and you have to pay for the shipping...so I probably gonna wait for more than 1 insert getting loose before sending...I have a lot of insert as I bought alot 10 years ago. I lost all my armors tho so I am buying High polish brass armor most likely.... I am an Armor guy lol...must have armor...armor or bust! :D. Thanks for the reply.
