What great samples and dies. I so want one of these! My 5 y/o great niece loves to craft & make cards with me so her Mom bought her one of these for Christmas😁
I have this little machine but it was blue and I got it years ago for my daughter to use while I used my large one. it has been sitting in my closet, maybe I will bring it back out to sit on my desk for smaller cuts I make 😊
What a fantastic little machine. I'll have to see if I can get one to me in Northern Ireland. Im sure someone is selling these in the UK. Great little invention. I think I'd use all my smaller dies more if I had one of these smaller machines. It looks like no hassle to use at all and so small and compact....just like my tiny little craft room, heehee. Lee xx
Yes, you will use those small dies more - I can watch Tv while punching out fiddly small items in comfort of my living room, easily stashed out of the way as needed. I really like mine & hope you can get one soon.
Outstanding Share!! I just received my Sidekick too....and immediately opened the box and used to set that came with to create and OMG it's so much fun to use....it sits right next to my Vagabond......*which I use ALL the time* and makes for a great look. Thanks to you and Sizzix for another Outstanding Product!! Happy Thanksgiving!! YOU so ROCK!! Joan Smith
I already own the old red sidekick machine. Will you sell those dies-embossing mats/stamp that come in the starter kits separately? Will the crease pad and cutting pads fit into my old sidekick?
sandyscrap: I just bought Quilled Creations Base and Cutting Pads on ebay for $7.95. There are two plates, a white A base plate and a purple C cutting plate. They are supposed to work great in the old red Sizzix sidekick when die cutting the thin metal dies. There's a TH-cam video by HappyWifeCraftsSuzie in which she demonstrates using these plates in the old red Sizzix sidekick.
Thanks so much for your help.I`ll check out that video and hopefully I`ll be able to buy those dies somewhere in Europe. Shipping from the US is incredibly high and we also have to pay custom fees.
question...is the space the cutting plates go through different/not as tall as the old red sidekick? or are the cutting pads that come with this new machine thicker?
There is a slight difference in the machine and cutting pads. Please use the correct pads with each machine. Go to our machine accessory page, and choose your machine on the left hand side bar to find the appropriate cutting pads for your sidekick: www.sizzix.com/catalog?crumb=&tag_category=31&tag_subcategory=52&type=product
If you have a full size die cut machine, why would you "need" this little one? I'm at a loss to figure this out! Maybe for a youngster getting into crafting?
I have limited space for crafting, so I can't keep my Big Shot out on my work surface, it takes up too much room. Because it's tucked away, across the room, I find myself not using my dies very often while I'm creating because it means hauling out the Big Shot, using it, then putting it away. And it never fails, every time I put it away, I realize I needed it for one more little thing. It's frustrating. For someone like me, having the Sidekick is the perfect answer. It's small enough to stay on my work desk, so it can always be right there for my projects and I still have the Big Shot when I need larger dies cut. This is at the top of my Christmas wish list because I think it will help me use all of my wafer thin dies more often. That's my reason for 'needing' this one. :)
A lot of die sets have very tiny pieces for which going to the the larger machine is not convenient so having the sidekick closer to where you put your project together may make more sense when deciding on which small pieces to use.
Hi I travel a lot between Cornwall and london I can’t take my big shot with me so this will be perfect to take with me when travelling and doing my die cutting and embossing to make takes all year round ❤️❤️
thank you tim holtz. I just got mine in the mail and I am so excited to use it.

Maybe try DIYing those plates? I've always wondered if cutting mats could replace those plastic cutting pads

Would I have to buy thinlet dies for the sidekick or can I use my big shot dies obviously the smaller ones❤
