I think that's one of those things that's contextual. If she's serious, she's probably dated immature people and she doesn't want to risk dating emotionally stunted individuals. However, I bet if she really liked someone and the stuffed animal didn't appear sentimental, she would change her mind about it. Otherwise, that would be an insane deal-breaker, especially when having toys as an adult is considered to be a positive for her. She's probably thinking of a specific encounter that has caused her to develop this perspective.
@@dumsquirrel I agree with what you said, but it still bothers me a bit because she's not coming at it from a perspective of "I've just had too many experiences with people where that was a bad sign". The conversation initially happened because she took notice of the stuffed animals right away and started judging Anthony for having them. That's kinda what rubs me the wrong way about it - it's fine if she's not romantically compatible with men who have stuffed animals, but why does she have to be romantically compatible with anthony as a person to not judge him for something he does?

Lol they were probably nervous in the beginning, and understandably so. I'm happy to see they've gotten a lot more comfortable and relaxed now!
They seem very natural together now. I definitely noticed them getting a smoother flow and you can tell it's coming back much easier now. I'm sure there was always the fear that it was just a novel relationship after reconnecting and that they might start to drift again after creating such a high expectation for the community, but I think the trial period has passed and they are much more sure of it now
You can tell ian and Anthony are back to the level of comfort of their childhood friendship and i love it

As a full grown adult (with an adult kid!) I have several stuffed animals!!
My husband even has a cuddly octopus that I got him (we have one each, you can flip them to be angry faces, it’s a great way to communicate feeling grumpy without having to find words!).

Wanna know something really cute and sweet , turning non-stuffed animal guys into one. If I stay the night a lot at a partner’s home, I’ll buy a new stuffed animal like a shark or t-rex to leave there, since I can’t sleep well if I’m not holding a stuffed animal/pillow because it puts my shoulders in a much more comfortable position and now I can’t sleep any other way! It's not the HAVING of the fleshlight that's concerning, it's the kind of person they would have to be in order to just have it sitting out on a nightstand. It would imply they are either too lazy to put it away or use it too often to even bother putting it away in the first place, both of which are not good signs imo. That goes for any sex toy.

I don't keep stuffed animals with me but I have anxiety so I will never judge someone how they cope, especially if it's not harming anyone. I feel like Erin is going on about it with his ego leading.
I saw my bf had a stuffed animal that he took away with him when he would have to work away and sleep in a tent... and I fell in love. (He would say "Home is where the bear is.") I loved that he wasnt embarrassed and then I pulled my bear out that I'd hidden away (from embarrassed). Stephen and George (our bears) had a few photo shoots together when we would go camping then and we'd put them in scenes to surprise the other when we came back to said tent 😂 💕

What is really annoying me about Erin’s plush speech is she is generalizing adults (mostly men) who have them as childish/weird. I don’t think she realizes that for most ADULTS it’s usually a form of comfort or a therapeutic practice for trauma, anxiety, etc.. Also, if a child is growing up without pets or any sort of emotional animal support in the home they often resort to, you guessed it, stuffed animals. So that stuffed toy that a man/person has on their bed and Erin decides to judge could unknowingly be the very thing that helped them cope/get through their childhood. A type of bond that is formed like that as a child is nearly impossible to let go of.
There is nothing to be ashamed of for owning one and displaying it. She is wrong and it feels like she may be projecting about this topic. Idk, it’s just weird and her mindset on this is toxic in my eyes.

I agree with that, but I'd like to add that some people pass stuffed animals through generations. I have a fox stuffed animal that I display in my room because it was originally my great great grandfather's, and it's been passed down through the generations. I love all my plushies, but I take special pride in that one. If someone came over, saw this prized family heirloom, and got annoyed and left, I can't even imagine how I'd respond. Like, it's so weird to take THAT much of an issue with it.
My partner got me a plushie when we first met, my parents got us the big version of the same plushie for our wedding day & every surgery I’ve had since my childhood I’ve gotten a plush, as well as every convention I’ve been at

As a male adult with 3 stuffed animals two of them my mother gave me on Valentine’s Day and 2 Pokémon squish mellows, it made me very sad when she said that lol made me feel like a pansy
I was so sad hearing that from Erin. I sleep with 6 because they are more comfortable to sleep with and can more easily move than pillows
Don't be sad, I'm 19 and I have various Stuffed Animals, Pillows, and Blankets for comfort. Without them I physically can't sleep.
It made me sad too at first, but it makes me happy that a lot of people in the comments feel strongly about it too. I have lots of stuffed animals; couldn't sleep without them. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for something like that. Those kinds of people aren't worth it.

Her attitude towards plushies might seem like a little thing to people, but for me this runs really deep and I'd avoid this person at all cost. I can't see any excusable reason to judge someone for having plushies, it says a lot about the person.
