That's the primary reason why your heart pumps faster when you are exercising, and with a smaller body the heart can pump blood through the other areas easier, giving him higher endurance. But no its really not worth losing your arms, you're better off keeping them on.

So after my professional analysis, I have decided that in the first fight Big Boy has the best chance. Here's my meta breakdown.
So, first of all let's look at their stats. Bradley put all his points into INT, which seems appealing at first, but he's the worst in my analysis. INT beats DEF but loses to ATK, and since Big Boy is the only one who put any points into DEF and Big Boy also put points into ATK, Bradley is not very good. And unfortunately, they all only had 100 points to spend and to overrule effectiveness, you need over double the opponent's stats, so since Big Boy split DEF and ATK evenly Bradley is SOL.
Next worst is probably Bush Goliath, because even though he put all his points into attack, that flat out loses to Big Boy using DEF. Sure, it beats Bradley and Beefmaster (2/3 of the time for Beefmaster), but it's pretty clear here that putting 100% of your points into one stat is not the right choice.
Moving on to Beefmaster, he is actually pretty damn good. Since he finally made the right choice to split his stats, he can choose to go for INT or ATK moves. With 50 INT and 50 ATK, he beats Bradley w/ ATK and CAN beat Bush Goliath and Big Boy w/ ATK (33% and 50% respectively), but this is nowhere near reliable enough to win consistently.
Finally, Big Boy. He consistently beats Bradley with ATK, consistently beats Bush Goliath with DEF, and has a 50% chance of beating Beefmaster with ATK.
Overall, this makes Big Boy just about the only viable defender, so I hope the devs patch this soon. I mean, just thinking about it, Bradley and Bush always lose, Beefmaster only wins 1/6 of the time, and BB can defend you half of the time.

Nah, Bradley is my go-to fighter
Bush goliath actually has a pretty good melee resistance.
Bro ur playing in 1.7.3 they did the tomato update for Halloween back in 2018 where they revamped the tomatoes, and then there was the combat revamp last month which was gamechanging.
For one, they made each fighter have base stats, but then a customisable part is a choice between 3 attacks, and in the combat update abilities were added with 2 to choose from each fighter.
Now I'll explain the 4 fighters we're comparing in ascending order from worst to best
Lets start of with Bradley.
Well like in pre-1.7.4, the version ur playing on, he seems good at first- high dodge chance, high critical, high chance of learning the fatal flaw of Bradleys enemies. And his abilities are absolute game changers. But if you actually look at his hard stats, not all the fancy 21st century stuff, he's revealed to be weak. His defense is low, so even though he has a high dodge chance, if he doesn't, he could die in 1 hit if the enemy has good attack damage and crits, especially if they use an offensive ability. All of Bradley's attacks are insanely weak, and normal crits do double damage, so when he crits he usually does weaker than most non-crit attacks. His 1st ability helps, I think it amplifies the next 5 attacks to do 500% damage if they crit, sure since its a concealed ability it can come as a crazy surprise from this otherwise useless enemy that you'd ignore. Bradley doesn't even have ANY absorbtion, other than ths buff to tomato-types in Tomato Tumble. Overall, Bradley is essentially just good to distract the enemy and make them waste a few turns before they can hit him in campaign, since most enemies AIs will prioritise him, as he has lower hp than I think most of the fighters in the game (maybe not mellow man, but his absorbtion rate is insane). In pvp, hes only good in the starter game if you're lucky enough to get one of his abilities from a crate early on, but on ladder he's useless. Honestly he's a difficult character to balance because he can get wayyy to op really quickly, I hope the devs find a way to balance him soon, he's been fluctuating from broken to horrible to broken to horrible for too long now.
Next, we go to beef master. Good attack damage on 2 of his attacks, has the block ability which is pretty neat, has decent absorbtion and high health. He's been in a really good place for a while now, maybe a bit strong, especially since he's used to create a bush goliath so a nerf to him would probably nerf goliath who seriously needs a nerf. I think hes pretty well rounded, but like I said he might be a factor in goliaths strength. He's good in most gamemodes, probably not some of the speed based ones since hes quite slow, but I usually chuck him in my party for campaign and pvp, and not just so I can summon goliath. I put Beefmaster below big boy because the devs are hard nerfing him next update, at least from what we know so far.
Anyway, big boy. Hes slow, hes got less than average attacks, but his health and absorbtion ARE SO HIGH, he's definitely one of the higher up tanks right now. And the passive buffs he gives to teammates, they aren't support type worthy, but still pretty good considering how strong he is as a tank. For this exercise though, it sounds like its a 1v3 and we won't be able to utilise big boys buffs, although I guess if we pick him the others can't get them. In this scenario he'd be worse than Beefmaster, but like I said Beefmaster is being hard nerfed so I'd probably pick big boy above him. Definitely good for your party in any mode except 1-tap since he'd get 1 hit killed from anyone so tanks are horrible in that mode.
And now, Bush Goliath. Definite winner. He's got similar stats to Beefmaster, but he gets to use a attack in the hybrid phase (since y'know he's a hybrid) which essentially means 2 attacks. He's probably the strongest fighter in the game, sure he's a hybrid so it takes ages to summon him onto the field, but just like most hybrids you've practically won once you've summoned him, I think Goliath is the only hybrid without a hard counter as well! Plus, his hybrid attacks are so insane, they are the coolest and most unique in the game imo. I'd probably not get him in a regular game though, since the steps to summon him are so complex and rng tbf, but in this scenario it seems we start of with him straight up, so definite winner.

Jack might be right about the whole Better legs without arms thing. If someone or something, especially a cat lived without legs, they would most likely have developed the balance. With the improved balance would also come improved strength, because they would always have to work to stay balanced. Not only that, but they would also have to go upstairs with only their legs and no use of their arms on say a railing. They would most likely be getting up from a seat without assistance also making their legs stronger. Jack has a point, the long leg cat would have increase kicking and jumping abilities.
