Czech Republic should pay Valery for doing such a great job of presenting her country to curious viewers on TH-cam!
That was fantastic. I spent 6 years walking across Karlovo náměstí when I studied in Prague in the 1990's. I wish I had known all of that history then. I had Czech lessons in Faustův Dům and many coffees in the cukrárna in Václavská Pasaž. I walked across the square last month on a quick visit to Prague and it hasn't changed much. Thank you.
Now that is the type of tour I would love to take. It is easy to find a tour showing the major sites but difficult to find one showing the more "oddball" sites.
😂 great video Val and guy’s 😊. What I love about your videos is Valerie’s complete normal and unbiased views you are so natural👍. All the videos you and your husband make are always informative and interesting.
Fun fact, the First Prague Defenestration was actually not the first historically significant defenestration in Czech history, just a year prior in July of 1418 the so-called Wrocław Defenestration took place, a revolt of lower mostly Polish-speaking classes against the German city council.
RPG's, I loved today's tour. My town is 80 years old, today I had lunch with some of it's founders who were children when their parents set it up. It is for this reason that I love hearing the history of Prague. I love that the New Town is from the 1300's.
love the stories behind the wallsthanks for sharing
I always love your video's Valery. Your charm is second to none and your assistant is so creative with the editing and sound effects!!!😱🙏🌹👌
Love your videos , we still watch them even though our trip was back in May. We met your husband and another one of your guides. The tours were awesome. Highly recommend!
Hi Valery! I just want to thank you for your exceptional videos of the Czech Republic! I was there teaching a comedy writing class at Czesky Krumlov last year and only had a chance to explore Prague for the weekend in between my two week course, so had a wonderful but too short time there. I must say you are extremely charming and your videos are so much fun and informative, and your camera and editing partner is extraordinary as well! I will deep dive into your videos before I return for sure, and do hope to cross paths there one fine day :) All of your hard work is much appreciated. Kudos!!
Ticho! That Cukrárna is usually "tourist-less." Let the Grandmas have a quiet place.
Vaclavska Pasaz is also my favorite place, I love the asian restaurant there on the side of the cukrarna. It has a local charm, there are no turists!
I learnt about this window from my favourite history podcast about a year ago. Now, on my second trip to Prague in December, I want to visit the defenestration window
Love these videos guys!!!
I've just come from a binge-watch of your videos because I'm too excited about going back to Prague... and then saw you uploaded 29 minutes ago! Sunday just got better :) Thank you for your great work!
Maybe you can contact her for a private tour guide for the day! not sure if she do that or only group!
Hi Valery. Thanks for the wonderful and informative tour. A fascinating bit about Ignatius Loyola. St. Ignatius is my parish and Loyola University is in my neighborhood in Chicago. The pastries looked quite delicious. Take care and bye for now.
I love your dedication and heart you put into your videos 💞
Why is this in my feed so late? Not fair. Happy February guys. Wonderful video. (There's a great independent coffee shop along from there).
a very interesting video. I have a lot to learn from you. good luck
Hi please do a video about Signal Festival, which I very much enjoyed last year!
Great video, very interesting. Love the sounds of your steps😃😄
nice video
Be it day, be it night, be it Charles' Square or quiet mountain trail-a responsible person with at least average intelligence carries a gun. Pepper sprays are useless (unless it is something like bear spray, those are at least somewhat effective, if also a bit bulky). Greetings from Vršovice, love your videos.
Go to the one minute mark and tell me why you stopped recording that guy in the background. He was obviously a cat burglar making his escape onto on obviously too short latter. Either that or he was the stupidest handyman in Europe. But we shall never find out because you two were too damn oblivious!….Love the content BTW. Keep up the good work.
Love Prague very interesting tour - I remember there was an upside down horse in one of the shopping Arcades in a video that I watched ??
Yes! That’s in Lucerna
@@RealPragueGuides Do you actually know when the Lucerna paternoster to the roof terrace will be open again? It was one of my most favorite places to stay during summer visits, but closed for a few seasons now for rennovation.
Very nicely done video!
The tower, city hall and church are one of my favorite places around town, not crowded. But do confirm when taking tram from that place in the evening was giving wires vibes. Also interesting thing- even going home around 21, not much people in the public transport in Prague ….in my home country always packed even at night.
ten seconds best prague video in town!
Hello Val 👋 from Philadelphia 🇺🇸
You should do a video of your favorite bakeries in Prague!
Hi Valery, what is Praha like for ceoliacs? I’m keen to bring my family next year, but none of the Czech food I know and like doesn’t seem to be gluten free. I’m sure ceoliacs go to Czech, so wondering if you have any insights?
No problem
gluten free products are commonly available here
Top stuff, thanks guys 👍🏻
3:40 Now used in a particular country in eastern Europe..
Czech defenestrations were always public....
@@xsc1000 excepts those done by KGB 😀
I visit this new town tower. Didn't see any prison and torture chamer. Guess they close from public
Semarang city
In my class of European history, I heard about the defenestration. She added very "interesting" details. I always wondered how a fall from a window would be an important historical event. The professor did not present its details. I now know what my university course glossed over. I am curious how the Hussites who were the reformation BEFORE Luther. That was important in my religion classes. Hussites. Waldensians. But Czechia holds an important role in the Hundred Years War. So unlike almost ANY other walking video, this one updates my university education. By the way I have to note this once. Who ELSE brings so much comedy to walking tours? She is irrepressible.
Throwing people from windows because of religious disagreement...fun!
New town hall founded in 1377. If that’s new what is considered old in Prague? That says a lot about people who appreciate preserving history, and it’s why I always prefer places with character than modern cities.
The history of the Germans podcast has a section on the Luxemburg emperors who made Prague the capital of the empire and explains the foundation of nové mêsto
There is old town which was there since 10-11 century.
Čechy mají neskutečně starou historii jako Ostatní v Evropě. Když se tady začalo stavět, tak neexistovalo usa ještě hodně hodně dlouho
Aha. 😊
OK, since you begged me to tell you my Prague story, I'll tell you...About twenty years ago, I was traveling through Europe, and decided for the first time to sample Eastern Europe by going to Prague. I was a little leery, as far as safety went, so I picked out a brand new American hotel to stay in. Now, at that time, for unknown reasons, right before going to sleep at night, I would place my phone, my laptop and all my electronic gear on the right side of the bed next to me. As such, as I was slowly waking up the next morning, my hand automatically reached out to feel that gear--a kind of instinctive double-check that everything was OK. Well, my hand found nothing, fumbling around until I was more alert, at which point I noticed that the cord on the telephone on the night table right next to my head had been cut. Yes, thieves had not only broken into my room and stolen all of my gear (probably giving a cut to the hotel), but used a knife right next to my sleeping head to cut the phone cord. I complained to the hotel staff, eventually finding myself in an old police station, where, after filling out relevant forms, I was told by the old, Soviet era station chief, in between puffs of unfiltered Russian cigarettes, to "Seet down..." Mm. Figuring correctly that I would never get anything out of either the hotel or the police (who probably also got kickbacks from the local thieves--those Russian cigarettes are expensive!), I exited stage left, booked a flight the hell out of there, and decided I should consider it a win, considering that that phone cord was the only thing that had been cut as I slept.
Strange. None here like russian cigarettes.
Byl si vůbec někdy v Praze , kde teda ?!
Nice fairytale....soviet era station cheff in 2004, Russian cigarettes (why would anyone buy some russian cigarettes? we don't live behind iron curtain anymore).....is this written by AI? 😀
Pigs smell a little bit?
pigs smell like pigs I would say
