  • West of Ireland concertina music from talented local Aine O'Donoghue! Originally from Kilfenora, Aine has many connections to Doolin, Co. Clare. Her Grandparents owned Gus O'Connor's Pub and her Father Noel O'Donoghue carries the tradition there, playing in Doolin many nights of the week. Aine is one a wonderful group of up and coming young musicians that are playing music in the area. She grew up steeped in the tradition and you can see her regularly playing in the local session scene. She had two wonderful teachers: Edel Fox, who also teaches concertina on The Online Academy of Irish Music and Kilfenora Ceili Band's own Tim Collins.
We're really appreciate Aine's time and amazing energy in creating this clip. Let us know in the comments what you think, where you're watching from and ask any question you have about Irish music - Much LOVE from Ireland 🇮🇪

Big thanks to Spirit of Doolin and Gus O'Connor's Pub for being so amazing to work with. Thanks also to Charles Monod and Gerry Booysen on Camera and editing.

My mother's father was from Dublin and her mother was from Naples. My father's family came from Pilson Czechoslovakia. I sing, write and play cross harp which is 2nd position on the harmonica. It's a diatonic sound as is the concertina. I do believe I'm going to be taking up this beautiful instrument and learn how to play...
