Twist of the wrist 2, sport riding techniques (both these are books), YCRS - champ you (online). These are all low-cost options to teach you better riding skills. If your buddy would have used the front brake and not stepped on the rear like a gorilla, he probably would have made that turn. Goggle trail braking and late apexes, educate yourself before one of you gets seriously hurt.
Both of you are riding to close to the double yellow in the right handers. You need to be hitting the white line at the apex of the turn. I've been riding since 1992. I suggest both of you take a safety course. I'm glad he is OK
When the guy pulled out at the beginning of the video he was using his feet like training wheels and veered way over into the oncoming lane (!) I knew it wasn't going to get better at higher speeds.
Rode that back in 21 on my KTM SDGT, had never been on that road before, so I rode it cautiously. It was quite enjoyable and completed it safely. Next day onto the Cherohala Skyway. And I agree with others about the oil, at least get some dirt on it!
its hard to do when you’re panicking, but when you over shoot a turn you gotta lean harder and apply full brake just shy of lockup. it has to be practiced on track days. it was a beautiful ride til homie went down. sucks. hooe he recovered 100
I have to laugh at some of the ridiculous comments on here. Firstly, it's absolutely correct that the unfortunate clown was riding beyond his ability with limited to no safety gear on. Secondly, just because he's talking and moving around does NOT mean he's OK! Why wasn't an ambulance or paramedic called? Asking him to move out of the way when you moved his bike was stupid. Move the bike not the rider! The reason this happened, as many have said, is nothing to do with body position, but road position. On left hand bends, you should be on the right hand side of the road/lane. On right hand bends be on the left. He was on the left of the road on a left hand bend. He couldn't see properly through it, so the vanishing point was all wrong. He realised he was going in too hot for his road position, but his target fixation on the approaching car was the problem, NOT his braking. BMWs all have cornering ABS. They can brake leaned over. As others have said, get some lessons, but the number 1 lesson is don't ride beyond your ability and certainly wear top quality gear, always. My very first bike was a brand new Aprilia RST 1000 Futura in 2003. I live in the UK where we take safety seriously and so we have a proper motorbike test. People said to me about buying a 1000cc bike. I said, the throttle goes both ways, only an idiot rides beyond their experience and ability. If you live in the US with the joke motorbike tests, spend some money on proper bike lessons, preferably with an ex-motorbike cop not some big gob arsehole....there's plenty of those on youtube. Safe riding everyone.
When I first rode the Dragon years and years ago, I was told the one mortal sin of riding there was crossing the center line; I rode like a pu**y for a while, but left with an undamaged bike!
I almost did something real similar. After a day of riding ALL the mtn twisty's along with tale of the dragon we were haeded back to a motel @ Morganton. On I-40 on the long right hand down hill sweeper I was doing @75 mph on the inside lane when I began to drift towards the rail. Tried to slow down grandually but still drifted toward it when I had to consciencly slow down and reagin control of the bike. Its the only time on that bike that I almost lost it due to speed. I did almost hit a rpock face with my rt handlebar on a different very rough road in the mountains but had to suck it straight up for a quik second. All this on a 2013 Electra Glide Classic now gone but put 32000 miles on it in 2 years!!
I'm glad everyones more or less ok! Definitely need some riding practice before hitting a road like this. You could tell where this was going the minute they couldn't make the turn out of the parking lot without crossing into on coming.
I was thinking the same thing when I seen that. I said WOW. can’t even take a right hand turn at 5 mph without crossing into the other lane… knew it was down hill from there.
@@s1kdkI think the oil on the road will do more damage takes couple minutes to move motorcycle so slow and no one tried to clean road lot more could go down and y didn’t he brake not even a bend lol as long he is ok
Damn man S1K DK, been subbed to you since last year and lots of stuff from this video. First, at least you guys did your run during the week when there was a lot less traffic. He panic braked and the bike stood up so his lean disappeared and he went straight to the other side. Sadly, dude was actually taking it easy and had some close calls with the yellows but until he gassed it on that straight prior, he was managing it. Had absolutely nothing to do with the bike or being a liter bike, a 600 would be worse because the torque in that range would be much worse. Also let me know if you ever plan on hitting up road america (or if you are back in MN). You would have so much fun. And you already know, but immediately start throwing dirt on that oil. :)
Yes sir a very unfortunate event for all parties, I’ll post on my Instagram story when I book a few track days! Feel free to come, I didn’t go to MN this year with the bike never had any time! And I have my dog Kilo, that I love to bring with me to MN so it makes more sense to bring a car! You are right, panic brake and just ended up going straight,💩 happens!
Let's get you both to a few track days. Your boy was riding beyond his limits and can't make a clean line; these bikes are full of amazing technology to prevent accidents like this. If you're ever in Michigan let's get together for a s1k track day.
If you loom at right before the crash, the handlebars are wobbling. This is because he is giving the bike conflicting inputs. He telling the bike to turn right by leaning right but he's telling the bike to turn left by turning the handlebars to the left. This is a great example of why it's so important for motorcycle riders to understand what counter steering is and to practice it. It goes against what you think is right so it takes a ton of practice ro do it correctly in a reflexive situation.
I was concerned at the start...how he pulled across two lanes and and drove in the wrong lane for quite a few meters. Not good. And he stayed away from the shoulder pretty much when making left handers. He left himself no room with that cage comin head on..in THEIR lane.

This guy does not need to be on the dragon or on a S1000RR he is going to kill or hurt someone. It does not take a keyboard warrior to see who the trouble maker is, even Stevie Wonder could see that.
That's what the Double Yellow Lines are for in the middle of the road. Motorcycle vs car the car wins. I just hope some idiot in a car or on a Motorcycle does not take me out by crossing the center line and hitting me. This Happened near me in Michigan on a big sweeping Curve. Harly Davidsons one going in each direction. One crossed the center line and hit the other. 4 people involved 2 people dead and one Paralyzed..

There’s a lot of haters in these comment sections for no reason😂😂. He overshot the curve simple as that. Came in hot and didn’t commit to the turn rather focused on breaking and looking towards to oncoming traffic. It all happens that fast. Lack of riding skill or experience maybe, yet most of all bikers lay their bikes down doing the exact same thing and mistakes. We live and learn. No one wants to crash but unfortunately crashing is learning. And he did on address the oil, even said it in his video about addressing the oil and figuring out how to go about that. And he picked the bike up as soon as someone came to help him. Idk why so many people are so pressed in these comments lmfao😂

He almost overshot so many corners before that one. He was so afraid of using the entire road he hugged the center line almost the entire time. I'm not the greatest rider of all time but, I was road racing in the 80's with absolutely no rider aids and was beating guys on 750s with my bone stock FZ600 and slick tires. Once I took it to the track I never rode like this on public roads again just because of not having riders on the same page and having ambulances at the ready because even the best go down.
So sorry for the car riders. Could have been worse for them. Breaking the law will assuredly get you sued and deservedly so. Too many heros on crotch rockets disregarding the law and not carring about other's lives and property
So imagine you're the BMW driver, enjoying a nice drive, when some clown comes over the double-yellow and hits your car. Probably wouldn't have happened if he was doing anything close to the posted speed limit (which I think is 35 mph?).
Wasn't a difficult corner and he seemed to be doing an okay job in previous corners... I think this was a case of target fixation. He was staring down the car coming towards him, so that's where he went... vs looking at his exit target
The bit i found amusing was,it flashed on screen, i need to warm Tyres up. Your not going over 50 in corners, and rev range your delvoping 30% of engine power output. Your all clueless regarding riding lines, poor car drivers having to go through this. But your all young and the mental age of teenagers.
Way to close to center of road, way to many times. Why take a blind corner that close to center of road ? What if a car goes left of center. No room for anybody's mistake. Good learning experience for everyone!

So you wreck their car and they're weakened. And now other people are gonna run in that oil and wipe out in the corner because of You 2.
Thanks for watching!
Put more OIL on the most treacherous road in America! 😮 that way you can cause more wrecks...SMH. The one guy even told him" put down some dirt"... naah..more concerned about viewers 🤪
Hopefully the driver of the car is okay.
We talked to the driver the whole time in the video, he was the young guy I exchanged numbers with. He was totally fine, just happy nobody was seriously injured. He was a great guy!
If you want to ride as if you were on a motorcycle race track, THEN GO TO A DAMN MOTORCYCLE RACE TRACK! Stop endangering the public on public roads.
This.. all of it. 👍
U can educate yourself all day long the hands on knowledge applied will show it's course with the use of teaching
Both of you are riding to close to the double yellow in the right handers. You need to be hitting the white line at the apex of the turn. I've been riding since 1992. I suggest both of you take a safety course. I'm glad he is OK
Even after fixing that car it will never be the same. Doors not going to close right, paint not going to match. Sucks
When the guy pulled out at the beginning of the video he was using his feet like training wheels and veered way over into the oncoming lane (!) I knew it wasn't going to get better at higher speeds.
Why would you let your homie go on the dragon in a hoodie
He didn’t bring any more gear to my knowledge, this was out 5th day on the tail, he can make his own decisions brother
@@s1kdkjust as long as his dumb decisions don’t affect anyone else on the road. And unfortunately that’s not the case with the BMW he hit.
Throw some dirt on that oil man!
I got side tracked🙃
The double yellow line is there for a reason
Really? Never knew what it was there for. Thought it was for looks!
damn....feel bad for that car man.... dude was a whole bike length over the line man. way too fast for the turn
Rode that back in 21 on my KTM SDGT, had never been on that road before, so I rode it cautiously. It was quite enjoyable and completed it safely. Next day onto the Cherohala Skyway. And I agree with others about the oil, at least get some dirt on it!
First priority!
My mother always told me if you don’t have nothing nice to say don’t say nothing 😂 I will say this dirt on the oil right away NEVER leafs
There is A.
Speed limit on the dragon's tail. These crotch rockets are have their own weekend for this.
If you didn't lead with the crash, I stilll would have known it was the duck walker.
its hard to do when you’re panicking, but when you over shoot a turn you gotta lean harder and apply full brake just shy of lockup. it has to be practiced on track days. it was a beautiful ride til homie went down. sucks. hooe he recovered 100
Yessir! Got caught in the moment for sure. And I’m all good! 🙏
glad homie is ok..always ride within your limits.
We did call 911! Took them well over an hour to get there, safe riding
What a bozo. Play squid games, win squid prizes. You know they have these things called race tracks where you can learn to ride?
I ride cruisers different type of riding but a rider is a rider I'm glad u will ride another day 💯
I feel the pain from the E93 owner, I have an E92 myself
Rip😢Obviously I love my BMWs, always a bad day when something like this happens!
Maybe someday you’ll be able to get a decent car.
I'm glad everyones more or less ok! Definitely need some riding practice before hitting a road like this. You could tell where this was going the minute they couldn't make the turn out of the parking lot without crossing into on coming.
yep.
yeah.How DID that happen,and why?lol
I was thinking the same thing when I seen that. I said WOW. can’t even take a right hand turn at 5 mph without crossing into the other lane… knew it was down hill from there.
Yeah not sure what that was?? Waddling his feet too, looks like it’s his first week on the bike if I’m being honest
Right off the get go, he can’t stay in his on lane, better rethink your driving skills, glad he’s ok, slow down
can not believe your bothered about his motorcycle when riders could hit that oil spill 😤
Had to get the motorcycle out of the road before you clean the oil, you know, because the motorcycle was leaking more oil 🤡🤣
Come over to WI man and DM me on Instagram if you want to get together. There’s even one in Illinois Blackhawk farms that’s really good
If you loom at right before the crash, the handlebars are wobbling.
Crazy how a few milliseconds can cause accidents on the road. Definitely a reminder to drive safe at all times. Glad everyone involved is okay
I was concerned at the start...how he pulled across two lanes and and drove in the wrong lane for quite a few meters. Not good. And he stayed away from the shoulder pretty much when making left handers. He left himself no room with that cage comin head on..in THEIR lane.
@@Monts-zw3hiYea, I bet it was nerve racking for him to experience and learned from it. On both ends I think it's safe to say. Driving safe should be number 1 priority
"Two more, skip the last"
Never call one more or last time!
7:09 allat oil on the road, unfortunateee, also crazy how the bike got totaled from that. glad hes okay though
Crazy right?! I didn’t think the bike was totaled at all, just a lot of damage. Dealer said “frame is bent” but I think that might be a lie🤔🤷🏻♂️
@@s1kdk thats the line i always hear, frame or hidden damage 😂 not saying its not true just funny
@@s1kdk has it been rideable at all?
Was brought straight to the dealer after the wreck, we didn’t fix it because insurance was covering it. I’m almost 100% sure if you got a new stator cover and some odds and ends (oil in the engine lmao) it would start right up. However the dealer said it would be a “$30,000” fix to perfect and ‘$15,000’ to make it rideable. Lol, more like 1k to make it rideable. Than again, I’m not a professional mechanic just know my way around tools.
@@s1kdk yea nah i feel u, i dont fw dealers, but hows hunter?
You did not even put dirt on the oil or did you tell the guy riding the motorcycle there was oil there you guys suck
Sorry, I cut out the boring part of me putting dirt and leaves all over the oil for 10 minutes. Next time I’ll put it in the video just for you!!! Don’t worry!!!
Everyone loves being SuperMan in the comments.
@@s1kdkyou lie and lie and lie. It’s clear in the video the oil slick is there the whole time. You even drive straight through it when you leave. How can you care this little about other peoples lives?
Common mistake!!! Looked right at what he did not want to hit...and went straight at it!!!
Can't take a turn on a S1000RR at 43 mph you need some training to develop some skills. 43 mph is about as slow as you can go on a bike and he just can't keep it in his lane. This guy does not need to be on the dragon or on a S1000RR he is going to kill or hurt someone. It does not take a keyboard warrior to see who the trouble maker is, even Stevie Wonder could see that.
I was going much faster than 43, I panicked braked hard and lost control of the rear and couldn’t make the turn because of it
Holy that could have been tragic!! Glad Hunter is ok and no one was severely hurt.
4 people involved 2 people dead and one Paralyzed..
not in a messed up way but the guy that fell cant ride, this thing of people jumping to 1000 without understanding simple basics of OMO and target fixation isnt right, skill cant be bought or rushed it takes time to build anyways speedy recovery to bro,no hate
Never say “one more time” or “one more ride” All riders should know this. No matter what you ride.
Most of the views on this video are in the ages of 40-65, TH-cam analytics tells me that lmao. I think most of them don’t remember there young days of going fast! I have been waiting for somebody with reason to finally comment, thank you🤣🙏🏼
40-65? big cap
And yet......You just had to comment......Didn't you.
Nah that rider exhibited lazy cornering again and again
Criticism is justified
Never ride above your level, no exceptions
So sorry for the car riders. Could have been worse for them.
Breaking the law will assuredly get you sued and deservedly so.
Too many heros on crotch rockets disregarding the law and not carring about other's lives and property
This is why you don’t call last run
Stupidity,no riding skills, not wearing proper riding gear, hope he is ok.
....Some times...Idiots are lucky...but not every time. It`s a shame for this nice bike! Train on a race track...........and not on public roads.
Lots of criticism, understandably so but posting up crashes does help educate and may prevent future accidents. So thanks for sharing👏👏
100% it does! Don’t do this so you don’t end up like me kind of thing, have a good day!
So imagine you're the BMW driver, enjoying a nice drive, when some clown comes over the double-yellow and hits your car. Probably wouldn't have happened if he was doing anything close to the posted speed limit (which I think is 35 mph?).
Less
I don’t understand why someone this unskilled at riding is on a 1000cc. Hope he’s ok tho
Wasn't a difficult corner and he seemed to be doing an okay job in previous corners... I think this was a case of target fixation. He was staring down the car coming towards him, so that's where he went... vs looking at his exit target
He didn't get arrested and charged? Guess I'm the only one that gets arrested for crashing on the dragon🤣
🤔🙃 Much love Max ride safe out there
The bit i found amusing was,it flashed on screen, i need to warm Tyres up.
Amateur hour on display....way too close to centerline and erratic riding
Way too much bike for his skill level. He couldn’t keep it off the yellow line. Clean the road !
Play stupid games win idiot prizes, hope he's ok
