There is absolutely no point in put a XXI century medical professional to judge an ancient weapon.
Back in times, any cut or pierce could to be fatal after some time. No ambulances, no epinephrine, no adrenaline, no intensive treatment units. Only disinfectants (with luck), bandages, stitches, herbs and prays. Internal bleeding was basically a death sentence: nothing to stitch.
The real requisite is the stop power: the opponent could be defeated by a hit, incapable of to continue to fight? If the answer is yes, the weapon works.

The original word for it is " Haladiyo" in my Gujarati language . it's origins from my region Saurashtra and kutcchh-Gujarat state. Started to make from Anjaar - an ancient port town in our area. May be in 3 or 4 century BC...

It would have been a little bit cooler if they had martial arts experts all around, but nah they have a hot dog eater, a nerd, and Danny in the show.

Rajputs are not a clan, rajputs are kshatriyas a caste in hindu chronology, rajputs are divided into clans themselves, and this dagger was not made in 18th and 19th centuries(maybe the one you use on your might be), as a weapon it was famous in the 15 16 and 17 centuries, also it was not only wielded by rajputs, most of nobility carried them, as you mentioned it was status symbol

@David Hernandez please do your research before you say anything about anything. This is the problem with you people. You are so quick to assume things.
      1) such an unusual dagger can only come out of practical use. It is a chunky looking ugly object. If it was ceremonial there were much prettier daggers in the Indian subcontinent. 5-6 types of daggers we're used by them alone .
      2) katars we're used by all warrio classes, even the mughals adopted them over khanjars and jambias. They were not only used for war. They were used fore hunting too. To finish off tigers. There r written records and pictures of it.
