Definitely liking method 2 for the additional control you get, but I'm having one issue: the background image isn't resizing on mobile or tablet...i just get a zoomed-in version of the photo that looks great on my monitor, but doesn't rescale itself for smaller devices. You mentioned it at 11:34 but that doesn't seem to be working for me? Any tips?
are there any scenarios where you would use method 1? Seems like the benefits of method 2 would always be worth the extra work. Maybe if you just need a texture or something like that as a background, then Method 1?
Method 1 is nice and quick. I would use this for textures or stock images that are purely decoration. E.g. business people shaking hands. Although, I would never use a stock image like that anyway :)
