@@Edspira I did too! your videos are amazing! My professors are projecting them in class or giving us the homework of watching them :D I have learned so much! Just curious though... why should we not take marketing as a major? 😁
i cant believe how useful this is. I've been ripping my hair out for the last hour trying to do homework and this guy explains everything in 6 minutes.
Guy I know you’re trying to be funny but in all seriousness you are a gift to mankind. You have thousands of videos with the same enthusiasm and love for teaching. I’m blessed to find your channel I feel like I can undergo a doctorate soon because of you ❤ no homo
Totally Brilliant!!! Not only is the information simple enough for all accountant newbies, but I love the examples. Both the condensing and simplifying along with coming up with those examples show that accountants have developed a greater level of holistic ingenuity to simplify than engineers and lawyers and also have developed a greater dry sense of humor.
This is awesome. I had a sore throat and raspy voice yesterday so wanted to show a video about job costing in my intro to managerial accounting class. I found this one my Michael McLaughlin and fell off my chair. Students liked it as well, although its hard to get any kind of big reaction from my students. And I discovered what your doing with Edspira and find it all inspiring. Thanks and keep em coming! -Kip Krumwiede, Virginia Commonwealth University
I've been reading & rereading my textbook and had not gotten this info to stick. Your videos are amazing! Now if only I could stop chasing raccoons who have stolen my baked goods...
My acct professor is funny but can't really tie it into lessons, he kinda just goes off on interludes in the middle of doing a problem haha. I appreciate ur crazy talent with somehow making the actual accounting stuff funny, it really helped me understand jobs and I couldn't figure out the purpose of PDOR until this video, so thanks for that!
I’ve already taken some accounting classes in University. He was ON POINT with the switching majors 😂 Sometimes it’s the “boring” work that is beneficial and finds you jobs. You can’t find much with “entertainment “liberal arts degrees.
I had to watch this three time, to focus. I couldn't take you and Wilson seriously; couldn't stop laughing, still laughing. Thank you, super resourceful and helpful.
I took financial/managerial accounting in the spring of 2023. Now here I am in the fall taking Biochemistry, cell biology, Histology, and calculus, wishing i was back here 😂😂
At the end of the video he lists the 3 rules in life... the first being "Don't date Marketing majors". Hilarious! My first degree was a Marketing degree. My second was an Accounting degree 1 year later. I had received that advice just before starting my Senior year from two separate business men. Glad I took it...
Normal costing is when a company applies manufacturing overhead using a predetermined overhead rate. Absorption costing is when a manufacturer treats the cost of direct materials used, direct labor, variable manufacturing overhead, and fixed manufacturing overhead as inventoriable costs (in contrast to variable costing, where a manufacturer treats the fixed component of variable manufacturing overhead as a period cost).
Yes, a mechanic could definitely use job costing. They would assign the cost of parts, labor, and overhead to the job. The bill that the customer receives would include a markup (e.g., the auto shop might pay their mechanics $50/hour but charge you $80/hour for labor).
Question about pension 404c erisa does this type of pension cant be withdrawn at all unless you at the retirement age? I separated from a union and wanted to withdraw but there are saying its not possible is this correct?
This was absolutely hilarious and helped reinforce important concepts. Thank you!
I'm so happy you liked the video!

What is the difference between normal costing and absorption costing?

Does a bill for having your car serviced fall under job order costing?
Yes, a mechanic could definitely use job costing. They would assign the cost of parts, labor, and overhead to the job. The bill that the customer receives would include a markup (e.g., the auto shop might pay their mechanics $50/hour but charge you $80/hour for labor).

Thank you!
