One of the things that I find helps me most when there is no wind, is to lift all of the slack out of both of the risers and their associated swing arm attach points, rather than being less tensioned, or pulling outward. That way there is only one variable as the wing inflates and tensions the A lines...the lines above the malions. Conversely if your A-line lifting, leaves slack, the wing may tension that slack unevenly as it rises. More tension on one side than the other leads to a much quicker acceleration of errors. Looks like a nice place to fly so long as the wind doesn't start blowing from the north east after you've taken off.

Couple of suggestions, as someone who struggles with no-wind launches. I can't run worth a damn so I learned how to do powered inflation launches. It's good enough for trikes so why not. The danger is that you better be good with the throttle control or you'll end up driving yourself into the ground at take-off power. Ask me how I know.
The other thing is that I pull in the wing tips a little bit when laying out. This will make the center inflate sooner and reduces the effect of one side inflating before the other before its over your head. And when I'm running out for the inflation I actively pull outward and upward on the A line that I'm holding with my thumb. That keeps me from inadvertently pulling one side down and helps keep the lines tight during inflation.

Well done. Flare all the way down to your ankles. Really well done. Regards Frank

Ah the dreaded 'nil wind' launch. I've discovered the layout is key. That and I've got an Apco Hybrid which inflates almost by itself. Looking at your streamer that seems like plenty of wind compared to what I typically get. Expect the wind to turn and slow closer to the ground. Up higher it'll typically be less turbulent but stronger. Often there will be a bumpy region between two layers. Thermals will be going all the way to that cloud base. Fly earlier in the AM or later in the PM to avoid the bumps. @20:00 I'd be keeping a close eye on the development in that towering cumulus ahead of you. @22:00 exhaust fumes. Yeah I get that too for sure so I guess that's normal. Weird though. Nice airmanship there! You had a really nice stable approach. After you have your spot made lift your eyes to the horizon. It's way easier to judge the descent and avoid that 'ground rush' feeling.

@@JustOutHereTinkering house in spring hill Florida. Been in marine corps 6 years flew numerous times before. Did glider flights 5 times. Didn't care for hard bumps. Para sail few times. I found a ground school that teaches at own pace in NC. Thought taking just ground school. Also been in contact with Kyle o in Louisiana. But as truck driver it's sometimes hard to schedule.
