I thought we need to add a little dark shadow blended in above the eyeliner on the lid though but u don't do that so I will try your suggestion now also I loved how u lined her lids looks so pretty.... Thank you! This was my 1 Dr introduction to your videos. Your techniques are amazing. As a former MU artist, and a 79 year old, with white hair, I prefer a soft grey eye shadow on my brows. The warm shades of browns never look right to me. Always “ off” somehow. Try it and see what you think.
Jan is absolutely lovely to begin with but your makeup application has made her stunning! It’s hard to figure out exactly which products to use, how and when and the vast majority of eyeshadows out there (in my experience) are all so shiny or “glittery”. Finding matte eyeshadows that are pretty and don’t involve going into your savings account to purchase them seem like searching for the Holy Grail. Thanks so very much for including those of us who are in our older years. Thanks for understanding that really, no matter what society seems to think or wants to think, we are not invisible. My favorite from this video is how you made her skin look so smooth and glowing. She is lovely anyway, but you made her stunning. Also, the tip about cleaning off the eyeshadow fallout with moisturizer is amazing!
I'm pushing 70, did stage make up for years, and use a Q -Tip dipped and rolled off in a touch of moisturizer for this under eye and eyelid clean up .The important tip here is to ROLL the Q-Tip gently back and forth with a feather light touch - it barely pulls the delicate skin at all -finish up with the other (dry) end of the Q-Tip !
She is an absolutely stunning lady and you did an amazing job on her! It's so easy to make mature skin look terrible as some people think you should just cover everything up as if you're using cement on a wall or something. But you just made her looks like a fresher version of herself, no hiding necessary, just enhancing.
This makeover was so awesome! I just turned 72 and this gives me so much hope to help erase so many stresses in my face! We are ranchers and spend a lot of time outside with many no makeup days! It is a good reminder to all of us 60 and older to take the time to put on a light touch makeup application. What a difference. For me the takeaway was that I need a little more blush intensity in my own application because as I look at my recent photos I look too washed out. Thank you for working with mature faces! I get great information from many different sources, but most are geared towards much younger women. I love that your focus was natural and minimalist. This would still be way too much coverage for my personal taste on a daily basis, but for a special event it would be perfect! I find it is reassuring that I am on the right track.

I definitely relate to what you mean. I am always outside feeding mowing doing hay etc. somehow I gained weight and it is on my face. My makeup I always wore mostly natural anyway but now it looks packed on or I look like a prostitute or something. 😂 I want to feel more natural again!

I'm 71 now and getting into makeup really for the first time, as with my silver hair I look washed out without some color in my face. The beautiful look you created for Jan gives me hope that I can look great over the next decade and beyond.
I actually learned this on set when I was assisting an AMAZING makeup artist on a music video in my early 20s. I have used it every single day since that day. It was an AHA! moment for me and I was so happy to be able to share it with you.
You made what was already a very attractive woman even more attractive. The natural look is gaining in momentum, thank goodness. Im 57 and love makeup and what it can do for you. Sometimes I like to look put together but not made up. I work on the natural look more often now with summer around the corner, ☺️. IMHO, just cancelling out the redness she had was a real improvement. I find that in my own skin, too! One looks far more put-together with no redness and it doesn't require a ton of makeup, either. Excellent job!!!

As I get older I feel that the less eyeshadow I wear the better… no matter how light handed I’am or how light the neutral pallet is, great skin care and very light shadow (like you did on Jan) compliments my look and doesn’t weight me down. Great tips.. ty

You are a star, Gabi! This is the second tutorial I have found for older women (the other was the one featuring mostly ELF products). I am 78 also, and have worn makeup every day since puberty. I believe in the value of makeup, and your tutorials always teach me something I didn't already know. I had my brows done a couple of years ago and that has made a huge difference in how much time it takes me to get ready for the day. I highly recommend it, but it requires an expert technician. I look forward to your expertise!

I love the fact that you brought out her beauty with MINIMAL makeup. Love love love the fact that you treated the skin first & went on to building up lightly without making it look caked on & subtle. I'm like beautiful Jan looking good but subtle for my age. As I get older I feel that the less eyeshadow I wear the better… no matter how light handed I’am or how light the neutral pallet is, great skin care and very light shadow (like you did on Jan) compliments my look and doesn’t weight me down. Great tips.. ty

I’ve been using the Mac Painterly paint pot for a few years now and love it! Bought a new one during the Ulta sale along with a few other shades. Works great on mature eyes! You did a beautiful job with Jan’s makeup!

You are a star, Gabi! This is the second tutorial I have found for older women (the other was the one featuring mostly ELF products). I am 78 also, and have worn makeup every day since puberty. I believe in the value of makeup, and your tutorials always teach me something I didn't already know. I had my brows done a couple of years ago and that has made a huge difference in how much time it takes me to get ready for the day. I highly recommend it, but it requires an expert technician. I look forward to your expertise!
