Phil Lynott was one of the most charming, charismatic and magnetic Rock & Roll stars ever, and one of my favorites. We were all robbed of his incredible talent when he was taken from us too soon. The year before you posted this comment, I fortunately interviewed Jim Fitzpatrick, the man behind all their album artwork! He lived with them while they were broke and starting out. I liked this group's sound even before learning they were irish as a kid. It was such a treat. They were unapologetically just rock. Phil is forever the definition of smooth (Jim said he did quite well with dating hahaha)
I used to jam with friends in nyc in a rehearsal studio and we use to play the boys are back in town and had so much fun…. I still remember seeing this in the early 70s and became an instant Thinlizzy fan ❤

I watched this in 1977 high on weed at my friend's house when I was 14 years old. Earlier that year I had purchased Johnny the Fox and Jailbreak having never heard Thin Lizzy before.
Robbo is the Kid.. had just turned 20yrs old a month before this was filmed.. byfar their Best Line up and most creative Ever. Too bad it ended way too soon they just don't make these types of Rock Legends anylonger. Long Live Lizzy !

I give up, I can not do it, I can not find the words which would fully express the total brilliants of the greatest rocking band that the people of this world had the chance to witness and now listed to the stunning brilliant music they made, Because I can not find the correct words I needed to explain what my 8 brothers and I got to witness love many times in clubs, pubs, out in the fields and in halls all over the lands so it is for that reason i have got to give it up, I will ask other smarter people than me to find the words I needed and to write then down and print them up on this post
these guys were so fucking good...emerald is one of the greatest metal songs ever, this is how you properly employ the use of 2 gtrists. there was a time when in order to make million selling records, get in the magazines, sell out shows, etc...you had to be able to actually play your instruments like a million dollars, and these boys could play. i get very sad when i think about phil lynotts' death...such a gifted talent, such a sad loss to the world.
This video of Lizzy is not from Midnight Special. Its off a "A night on the town. This is simply my favorite band and fav line up. Innovators not imitaters.

Never was the 2 guitars as tight again..i love the gary Moore period ..and the John sykes period ..I think with snowey live they sounded bit rough...tho I love Chinatown..this mid 70s lizzy tho untouchable
And I guess I've never fully appreciated Lynott as a bass player, but he was great - especially singing on top of the stuff he was playing. Sad he got so messed up and left the world too soon.

I remember a Ted Nugent hosted Midnight Special that, Lizzy, A Bon Scott fronted AC/DC and Cheap Trick were all on. This can't be that show because I believe there was a video of Aerosmith's 1978 cover of "Come Together". And I think that was around the time Weekend Warriors came out.
Id stolen the live n dangerous album off my brother n fell in love with it , but id played it that many times. Before he came back from school ( i was skiving off from primary school ) ... Id scratched fuck out of it by accident on an old Invicta 8107 record player . So he kicked fuck out of me , Iv Been a strong Lizzy fan since that day , oh no sorry probably the day b4 .. when i heard him playin it in his bedroom i just thought i gotta haver ma hands on that , playing air Bass as a laal kid ..
