- This vlog is about our family trip to Paithalmala - the highest hill in Kannur district in Kerala. We stayed at Holistic Stay, a farmstead in the forest bordering a wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka. It proved to be an educational tour for little Annika since she loves animals. There she got to meet many new animals which she had only seen in books. This was also a fun trip for the grandparents as they couldn't explore much of Kerala during their last visit. We had a fun family time and the weather was so soothing, considering its the peak of summer in the Kerala in Apr-May. My videos, as always, are a reflection of our slow paced multicultural family life. I hope you enjoy watching it :)

Just seeing the fly sit together in the evening and enjoy Annika is happiness. This can happen only when you are out in nature like this. This 8sed to be our life 30 years ago, enjoying nature, rains, flowers, birds animals around our own homes. I loved my childhood, and I'm so happy Aanika is getting to enjoy the purity and simplicity of life in a place like this. Truly enjoyed this vlog took me back to my own childhood. God bless little Annika to have the same love for nature as she grows.

What a stunning place, simply beautiful!!! Loved the track that was playing during the drive up to the farm. The host at this property is so involved and passionate about what he does, no wonder the place seems to be thriving. My jaw dropped to the floor when Annika said 'dadu' 😃 Dada must've been on cloud 9 💕 the rain made the perfect family getaway and evening even better...Rain, I feel, always does😊especially during the hot Indian summer.

Annika calls both dada and dadi as dadu and they both just absolutely love it! But who wouldnt?! Our hearts just melt watching it too 🥰 now just waiting for the proper monsoon to start and make life better and slower with chai pakora ❤️

@@gaurisingh3985 yes, my kurti was originally longer and since i wanted a shorter one, the extra material was used for Annika’s suit and stitched by dadi ❤️

I love watching your videos Johanna and especially watching Annika as she reacts to everything around her. Breathtaking views. I never knew this place though I live in Bangalore. Annika is such a sweet doll...enjoyed every moment of this video. Sometimes I feel you shouldn't just be making these small vlogs but you can take on bigger projects as well. You've like I said earlier, a rare talent with the cameras & editing videos.. Hopefully I’ll be able to do those bigger projects too when Annika grows up! But for now it would impossible for me to part from her for even any longer hours during the day which makes my own vlog editing sometimes difficult too! I’m so happy you enjoyed with us and hopefully many more videos smaller or bigger coming in the future too 🥰

Annika responding well to her grand dada feeding her was a beautiful moment. I noticed her cute curly head and forehead resembles her grand dada.
You must have lost power but was great for the dada and dadi to watch their grand daughter's antics. Funny she calls her dada (dado). She will eventually warms up more to her dadi too.

Hi Johanna, this place is so authentic and very green surrounded by lively mountains and you have your own small zoo with fearless birds and rabbits and Annika enjoys the view. There’s another Place I had visited about 30 years ago.. Kudremukh where iron ore used to be mined. Btw , this time I see Mother and Daughter have been “Cut from the same cloth” 😉😂😂😂.

Yes but I think i said on a video before that drive that i won’t be filming much since it’s more of a personal family trip to udupi, only to places of personal significance 😊 we had a lovely time though and maybe next time vinod and i get to visit Mangalore (we’ve been quite a few times) we’ll try to film it too!

I had been here in the year 1999 as a part of a school trip. There was nothing as such to stay there. We tried to hike and reach the top of paithalmala, but we got lost and had to climb down. Its a thick forest out there and very beautiful. Do they allow you to hike and camp at the top now? . From the video, it seems you are at the base of the hill.
I was at kannur until the7th, it was too humid as I live near the coast.
